Elkwood Campground

The owners are respectful and listen to feedback from campers. They are adamant about their security so that makes the place feel safer than most. Excellent facilities, well kept. My parents have a seasonal spot and every time I visit it's a good experience.

Awesome Campground! Nice little town. Great elk viewing spots. Awesome owners. Definitely repeat customers. We rented one of their campers and it was clean and as comfortable as could be.

Everything about this campground is TOP NOTCH! The owners are the best people ever and they go above and beyond for everyone who stays here. You come in as a guest but leave as a treasured friend! Highly recommend!

Our family stayed at Elkwood for the first time over Labor Day weekend 2022. We loved it! Clean campground. The owners are extremely nice and friendly. Our kids loved the playground. The bathrooms and showers are very clean. Very well kept quiet campground. We would love to stay here again!

Best mom and pop campground we have ever been to! The owner's are very friendly and have a very clean and well kept campground. Nice little camp store, swimming pool, walking trails. Everyone was so friendly, we enjoyed so much going back in September and we can't wait 🤗

We had a wonderful stay! The owners are very pleasant. We had the perfect site for our needs and just as everyone said, the restrooms and showers were the cleanest I have ever seen. The large pool is located in a very enjoyable, sunny spot with access to another set of restrooms. Our family is ready to make this an annual trip!

We recently stayed 2 nights at Elkwood on our way down from the UP. I wish we could have stayed longer. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Upon arrival they drove my husband up to the site so he could get a feel before towing our 40ft fifth wheel up the hill. The site was spacious and the grounds kept the natural beauty of the land without looking trashy.
We got great signal from both AT&T and US Mobile.

Elkwood Campground is BY FAR the best campground I have ever stayed at. Kelly and Tony are the owners and are two of the most kindest, loving, genuine people I have ever met. The campground is quiet, friendly and extremely clean. I was truly amazed when I walked into the bathrooms and showers. They are spotless and clean of bugs. You won’t find a better place to be. They have an awesome pool, trails, and the office has a great game area. The sites aren’t right on top of each other either. Truly the best place I’ve been and we will be back! If you stay here, you won’t regret it. And take time to sit and chat with Tony and Kelly they truly are amazing!!

Elkwood is def the HANDS DOWN greatest place to camp ever!! There couldn't be better owners!! After going there several times we continue to come here time and time again! Pool is refreshing and crystal clear!! Bathrooms and showers are clean!! What really makes this a GREAT campground are the owners! There are not enough words to describe what GREAT people they are!! Tony and Kelley are absolutely amazing and do great upkeep around the campground!! The more we get to know them the more they are part of the family!! I would HIGHLY recommended Elwood and I will promise no one will be disappointed!! :)

I spent a night here with my wife sleep on our GMC yukon that equipped with a bed and mattress.
The camp was great car's and rvs not close to each other. Plenty of space. Clean bathrooms and showers (they are old but clean) people work here ar so friendly and helpful they help us to check in late and took us to our place.

I highly recommend. Nice place to camp and have fun.

This was a very nice campground, the owners are very kind. The sites are spacious and bathrooms/showers are very clean. They have onsite laundry area, and big clean pool, and small park store. The drive up to bridge is about 40 minutes. I would definitely stay here again

We recently spent three nights camping at Elkwood Campground on our way to the UP. We loved this campground. Our site was spacious and very level. Easiest setup we have ever had. Owners Tony and Kelly were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Close proximity to Petoskey, Charlevoix and Boyne City. The stars we could see at night was just amazing. Nice big heated pool. We can't wait to return next year!

I usually do not do the whole review thing, but I feel like I have to this time. This is by far the best camp site I have ever been to! We stayed in the private cabin they have available which is absolutely gorgeous! This is the cleanest camp ground ever! Tony and Kelley are the owners and they are extremely nice and do such a great job at taking care of their property. I noticed they clean their bathrooms and showers at least six times a day if not more! They also sell wood on site which is super cheap and they even deliver it to you. We will definitely be coming back to Elkwood camp.

Absolutely love staying at Elkwood, the sites are always clean and they have done so much work since last year it is amazing. And the owners, Kelley and Tony are wonderful people and make it a fun place to stay. Stayed there three times and not one time have we had any complaints.

What a great place? Tony and Kelly are great hosts. The parking spots are well arranged with plenty of room to manuver your rig- big or small. And the bath house is fantastic! Only about 5 miles of I-75 tucked back in the woods. This time of year is rut season and we heard the elk bugle! Playground for the kids, too.

I had one of the best experiences of my life! What an amazing, well-kept campground! The drive up from Detroit was only 3.5 hours and my two girlfriends and I camped for a few nights at one of the campsites in the center. The showers and bathrooms were very clean, the other guests were respectful and the owners were always checking in on everyone and the grounds to make sure everyone was having a great time. Well-seasoned firewood is available for purchase and there are a few hiking trails right on the site. We saw porcupines and chaga mushrooms a few minutes walk from our tent :)

We stayed for 3 nights coming very late Tuesday night on June 27th, 2017. Tony, the owner, let us stay in a drive through space that was already reserved but not occupied that night so we didn't have to maneuver to our space until daytime. No problem with the hard-packed road coming up - not paved but wide and smooth. The camp wonderfully maintained and peaceful. Unlike some commercial rv parks you're not jammed together with no breathing space. At night the stars are incredible. No ambient light to dim your viewing. One camper has been coming here 20 years. He said it was getting run down until 3 years ago, Tony, the current owner took over the park and turned things around. There's a well maintained pool, and the restrooms, and showers are better than most of the camps we've been too. The owners are among the friendliest people we've ever met. All in all I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay here was. It's a great camp and if we ever plan coming back up here (we drove from Texas) we'll definitely stay here again.

This beautiful campground is truly what northern Michigan is all about! Beautiful remote setting, well maintained, clean restrooms, and the owners make you feel like family! Thank you Kelley and Tony for your hospitality! We will definitely be back!

This is a great place. We just finished a week there and we can't wait to go back. The bathrooms and showers are very clean. The camp sites are spatious with some looking like they were cut out of nature and are waiting for you to be absorbed into. The owners are the friendliest people. Please don't go here, I want it all to myself.
