Maple Hill Park

Swings with a small playset nestled in naturally walled area. There is a small pavilion and two picnic tables. Wonderful place to relax

I love this play ground! I grew up going but it could definitely use some attention!!! The bolts on the swings are coming loose and one of the swings is broken.😞 But I will forever love this it!! Really wish the old playground equipment was still there!!! It was so much better than the new stuff but like I said still love it! 🛝
Of course all growing it was called dead children’s playground and yes it is creepy at night and the swings do go on there own with no wind or anything!! 👻

Marvelous cemetery and park. I fell in love with this park. It's amazing, celebrating the lives of our Confederate Soldiers. Shame on VA for not recognizing them. Learned allot of history in short amount of time just waking, reading, and googling names/dates.
Will definitely be back.

Very nice old historic park with lots of neat rock formations since it was an old quarry. Too bad the old equipment was ripped out but at least they put something back in for the families that go there. There are a lot of really old stories about this little park just go and see for yourself its a really neat and beautiful park regardless of whether you believe or not things happen really late when park is closed anyway. They do have a ghost tour and the Maple Hill Cemetery stroll if you want to hear the history of this historic cemetery.

We went to see Dead Children's Play ground! It is very different set down in like an area with rock walls around!

One of the best spots in Huntsville. If you sit on the swing, you might have someone (unseen spirit) start pushing you.

It's definitely creepy even without the ghostly sounds or sights.. I mean, there is a playground right behind (in) a cemetery.

Love going here for an escape and peace and quiet....so nice to just chill

I have over 60 ancestors buried here and it's such a beautiful cemetery. There is a playground in the back that is supposed to be very haunted. I'll go get food from taco mama and go eat it at the park and just relax. It's a beautiful shaded park. As far as it being haunted I don't feel creeper out to go there.

Brought my kids from Florida & loved this place..it's awesome, highly recommend if your in the area

A friend and I went painted Rock hunting here! It was a chance to relax after visiting the gravesite of my late wife. I walked the Ridgeline surrounding the park/playground and nearly fell off! Wet moss and improper footwear makes things interesting. Would love to try again, you know?

Fun and there is a trail to explore on but really peaceful

I was born and raised here in Huntsville so I grew up telling the stories of this park. AKA Dead Children's Playground. Aside from the eerie feeling you get and the creepy urban legends, it's a very shaded and small park/picnic area. Inside of a cemetery, but a park nonetheless! 😂 P.S. If you haven't been, go! Especially if you enjoy the paranormal. But remember, it is unlawful to enter after dark and is closed to the public 1 hour after sunset!

We arrived just after sunset and if I'm not mistaken, a sign says the park closes at sunset. It's a secluded park right near the Maple Hill Historic Cemetery. This place has a history of being haunted but we didn't see or feel anything strange.

Pretty rock formations. No swings of the dead children swinging.

Maple Hill Park is a definite place to go for paranormal investigators. While there investigating we caught swings moving by themselves, shadow figures, and multiple EVPs. Besides the paranormal aspect it is a beautiful place to visit

This place is totally cool....the playground is definitely haunted as well as some activity in the adjacent cemetery. It is always super crowded though so keep that in mind. Even with there being a lot of folks you still pick up activity and you will most certainly experience the paranormal here!!

Gps took us right to it! Although the park closes at sun down it's one creepy spot! Our K2 Meter and rem pod went nuts! Caught some great footage and pics! Recommend this hot spot of Paranormal to everyone!

Great time. We went at night. We did get to see the swings move by themselves! Couldn't believe it! I still feel a little skeptical but they were moving side to side towards each other instead of back n forth. We will go back to see if it happens again. Very clean and lovely playground tho.
