It's the dog park with two separate areas for large breed dogs and smaller ones. There is seating to socialize with other dog owners and a couple spots for people less social. There's running water for the dogs to drink and an area to hose them down if you go on a wet and muddy day. You're expected to pick up after your dog, but watch where you step, because not all owners are as responsible as you are, though most of them are good about looking after their dogs.

We have been bringing our furbabies here for a few weeks. There is usually a nice variety of pups and our girls are slap wore out when we leave. Most people are friendly and pick up after their dogs. If you have extra plastic bags, it's a nice place to recycle some. They have several bins to put the bags in and some people tie a bag full on the fence. There is a small pool that some of the dogs will cool off in and plenty of water buckets and bowls so they can stay hydrated. I'm glad we decided to check it out.

I love having a place that I can take my dog to for him to be able to run free and play with other dogs.

The space for large dogs is huge! It has a large grassy area with chairs, picnic table, and a few trees. The area with the water hose is covered with large gravel so you don't wind up with a muddy mess. There are train tracks running beside the park and railroad crossings that require them to sound their horn which is very loud, so be aware if your dog is noise sensitive.

We had an absolute blast!! We went on mother's day and there was about ten other dogs there they all got along and played so good! There was a little pool for them as well as a bunch of water bowls and a water hose. There were plenty of balls for all the adorable doggies to play with too! Very nice place. They have benches and chairs in the shade but also right there with your pet. Don't have the first bad thing to say about this place!

It’s great to have a dog park right in downtown! The Dogspot has separate areas for small and large dogs, as well as some benches and several areas with shade. Running water is available and there’s even a separate outdoor dog wash area. The 50lbs+ section is quite large and is a great way to repurpose an unused area below and adjacent to the parkway and exits for I-565. The traffic noise is not especially bothersome and definitely doesn’t seem to bother the dogs. It also allows for some bonus off-leash time in the rainy season, under the overpass areas.

I don't know why this place got some poor reviews a couple years ago. It's really great. The trees are leafing out, there is shade, there is water, it's a huge space which one of my dogs loves, there are usually a good number of nice dogs, the parking is good - what's not to like? Only downsides: no bathroom and a big huge pothole at the entrance - watch out!

We bring our pup here regularly as long as the weather is good. It is a great dog park. People that come there are pretty good about keeping the place cleaned up and minding their dogs. There are two parts to the park - one for small and one for large dogs. There is also a wash area for you to rinse off your pup if they get too dirty (just bring shampoo and a towel with you).

In both areas you will find seating areas for the owners to enjoy and hang out while puppers play. Usually there are a few tennis balls around in both areas and some times bags for picking up 💩. The folks that tend to the park do an excellent job doing so and as a neighborhood we all seem to respect it.

On the hotter days, you can find some kiddie pools in both areas for the dogs to enjoy until they get busted up. The small dog area has a pretty decent one that some of the frequent owners purchased for that side. Maybe the same will happen on the big dog area too. The big dog side is pretty massive - goes under the freeway a bit and back a ways too.

For the most part, bring a toy if you think your pup might want one (just in case the balls are busted up or gone), a towel to wipe your pup down if needed and a smile --- because most of the people that come there are pretty friendly. If it's your first time and you are not sure how your dog will be, just speak up. Most of the owners will let you know the low down and know to keep things easy with their dogs. But for the most part, the dogs seem to play with ones they like and avoid ones they don't, like kids.

The HSV city dog park is a great place to take your dog to run around, socialize with other dogs, and just have a great time playing.

They also have a fenced in set aside for smaller dogs as well that might overwhelmed by the larger dogs.

The location is great and I think it is an amazing way to utilize a piece of land that otherwise would probably just go vacant and unused otherwise.

Great spot! My dog loves to meet and play with other dogs. A lot of butt sniffing going on here is not a bad thing! Bags for number 2 cleanup and there's plenty of water.

We are from out of town here visiting relatives. Our dogs needed a nice break and this place offered that. The park has 2 areas for large dogs and small dogs. Huge areas for both. Water bowls in area. Easy disposal of dog waste. Although there were no bags for dog waste, it wasn't a problem, we had our own. Great place! Wish there were more like this.

Excellent dog park, with LOTS of space, both for large and small dogs. The signage is a bit faded, so look closely to see the two gates, one for the little dog area and one for the big dog area, towards the bridges. Unfortunately, people need to clean up after their dogs better, but I'm afraid that's the case at every single dog park in the universe.

Well maintained, rarely empty or too busy, we enjoy this park. The train coming by can be a little loud, but it's otherwise ideal. Especially appreciate the water stations right outside the park. Our girl usually gets a good bath after her frolic, so we get home beautifully worn out -and- clean!

Huge, well maintained. Separate enclosed areas for small and large dogs. Plenty of waste bins and poop bags. Plenty of water faucets. The city is steadily working to improve the drainage and muddy spots. Most owners are good about cleaning up after their dogs, it's a lot better than many other dog parks I've been to.

I really love bringing my dogs to this dog park. They always have a great time.

I do wish that people would bring poop bags and be sure to clean up after their pet more.

Also, when i first adopted my Golden Retriever i was feeding her too much and she got fat. Whenever I brought her to the dog park I felt dog mom shamed about how fat she was because a lot of the other moms would comment on it. We have since gotten her weight under control and she isn't fat anymore... but people don't tell you when your kid is fat to your face like you're a bad mom so why do it with someone else's dog?
