Gibson's Bar-B-Q

Words cannot describe, but I will try. The food is always good every time I and/ or my family have ever been. The staff are so great, so accommodating, helpful. It is a great, friendly family atmosphere with good, fresh, homemade food.... Oh my gosh! The coconut cream pie is to die for, literally, I want it as part of my last meal. I don't usually eat it, but I am a convert now!!! The apple and banana cream were also good.

BBQ chicken baked potato with white sauce is my favorite thing in the menu, but everything is amazing! They have the best pie and fried okra! Their breakfast is just as amazing as their lunch and dinner. The staff is spectacular and always make me feel at home. I live in DC now which makes my trips to Gibson’s even more special since I don’t get to go often. It’s always the first place I eat when I get home to Huntsville.

Always had great food here! I hate that Gibson's is officially closed after all these years, however I hope Grace Lutheran is able to make good use of the property. Loved the Brunswick stew!!

We make the trek back to Huntsville each year, and no Thanksgiving meal would be complete without coconut cream pie from Gibson's. They were super-busy on the morning before Thanksgiving, and even so we got our pie quickly, with a smile, and still warm from the oven. What sorcery is this??? And if you're wondering, other pies are equally delicious and the legendary barbecue speaks for itself. Simply wonderful.

I always get great service and food here. Southern favorites like fried catfish and hushpuppies, bbq, bbq chicken, stuffed potatoes, fried okra, and awesome pies!! My sweet tea glass never gets less than half, and I go home with a large to-go cup without asking.

I'm not from Huntsville and this was my first (certainly not last) visit to Gibson's. My mom and I ordered the pull pork potatoes. They were huge and loaded!! So amazing. I also ordered a BLT (with a little extra bacon 🥓) and it was perfect. Definitely my new favorite restaurant 😋

Love this place! Locally owned, always cherished. I love to stop on my way to work and order breakfast for me and my wife. I get an omelette with grits and toast, and she gets a BLT. Their BBQ is ways a hit, and their BBQ Stuffed Baked Potato would satisfy the hungriest of appetites! Great local spot for a meat and three. They also have meeting rooms for local clubs and organizations to hold lunch or dinner meetings.

Love this place. Been coming since I was a kid. Everything tastes the same as it always has. Love the pulled pork and the old fashioned burgers. Process are great and servers have low turn over, so they remember you!

Best breakfast in town. Homemade biscuits, country ham, pancakes, and of course, grits. Lunch and dinner are just as good. Do not leave without homemade pecan, coconut, peanut butter, chess, and chocolate pie! You will not be disappointed!!

Been eating at various Gibson's for over 20 years, as my husband is from Decatur. This location has the BEST waitress in the world. I'm terrible with names, but she calls everybody sweetheart. All servers could learn an encyclopedia on customer care from her. The food is great as always, pork loaded potatoes are so good we have to make them in Atlanta based on the Gibson's recipe, complete with his version of their pork vinegar sauce. If you go for the first time, you have to have chicken, because their white sauce is one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten.

I had the quarter barbeque chick white meat with potato salad & slaw. It was very fresh and tasty. The chicken was cooked well and the white sauce made it even better. Nice n smoky and moist. One of my friends had the pulled beef n raved about how good it was. Best he had had! Not dry or tough or stringy. Both of them had peanut butter pie and said he would attempt to create it at home. I. E., Love! Very successful luncheon.

This is in my personal opinion ion....the best breakfast you will ever eat in Huntsville Alabama. This is based upon friendly service..... freshness of your meal and how hot it was..... and just how much food your plate had on it! Just a great friendly environment day in and day out! Thank you for great food!

One of the oldest restaurants in Huntsville approaching 64 years in business. The building and interior are dated but it's the food that counts which is delicious. It is not uncommon to wait for a table but is worth the wait. Breakfast is very popular and their Brunswick stew with hushpuppies is well worth trying. Take home a quart to a gallon because it will become one of your favorite comfort foods!

This is by far the best BBQ place in town! The stuffed potatoes are amazing! The sandwiches, catfish and pies are too! The meat here is always so fresh, hot and delicious! The workers here are always so kind and helpful! To me it’s better than Bob Gibson’s in Decatur! I highly recommend Gibson BBQ Huntsville!

In my opinion Gibson's is a local icon for GREAT food and GREAT service. This time I ordered pork sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, Brunswick stew and hushpuppies at the carryout desk. Everything was GREAT as expected. My food was ready fast and came with an offer to help me to my car. Gibson's consistently does everything right.
My only complaint about the place is the excessive number and size of speed bumps in the parking lot.

In all fairness, I'm from out of town and don't come to the South often, so I can't profess to be a bbq connoisseur. However, I thought this place was nothing short of amazing. Best ribs I've had anywhere, people are kind & friendly, service was fantastic, and the prices are great. I think the value here is off the charts.

Building is pretty dated, probably original (read somewhere that they've been in business over 60 years). Personally I don't mind at all but it certainly isn't for everyone. Made me wonder how many well known figures from NASA or the Redstone Arsenal have frequented the restaurant, and that made me smile a little wider while I enjoyed the ribs.
