Kickin Chicken

Good place to grab some good chicken, cafeteria style. We really enjoyed talking to the staff and/or owners (lot of pride to not be part of ownership) Bone-in and chicken tenders. Options for one or more sides. I'd like just a bit more spice on the chicken, but it was good, probably just right for most. We had a two-piece with one side, a roll, and a drink for $24.

It's definitely a place worth stopping if you're in the area and looking for lunchtime chicken.

Rode past on November 15 2018 and noticed the packed out parking lot and the neon open sign, having been closed for the past couple of months excited we quickly went up the road and turned around at Piggly wiggly which is where we were originally headed to see if they had a deli with fried chicken. Went inside and ordered some fried 3 piece dark meat with a side of campstew. The chicken is delicious! But that campstew of theirs is outta this world. Unlike a lot of places that get a couple of cans of castlebury Brunswick stew and add some canned corn and shredded pork to it this campstew seems all original with thick chunks of meat, potatoes and tomatoes that aren't pureed into some type of pulp that resembles something you would feed hogs, it also has a slight smokey flavor that's not to overpowering but just right. The campstew will be my first choice for future visits especially with the cold of winter setting in. As for the cheeseburger it's great, the sauteed onions really kick it up a notch
We're glad they're opened back up and looking forward to going back for lunch, I've included some pics of their dessert freezer and a few pics of the chicken and some menu items.

We gotta eat here at least once every time we come down, these guys have chicken down to a science and it’s fantastic! Hush puppies, cornbread, coleslaw, and housemaid sauces are on point!

Very Friendly Staff, Laid Back Atmosphere. Delicious Cheeseburger & fries!! Best Fast Food Burger I've Had! The red velvet cake was dry & not fresh though🙄(for$3slice) Will DEFINITELY be back for the Cheeseburger & FF!!! 😃

We have been wanting to try this place since we moved here. Food was delicious, like being at my grandmother's table again. Pastor Smith and his staff treat you like family and provide some fantastic food!

We visit the lake from Birmingham weekly and Kicker Chicken is one of the places I really look forward to visiting. The chicken is superb and better than anything I can get in the Birmingham metro (rivaled only by Champy's). The prices are extremely reasonable and all of the sides are pretty good. Service is fast and friendly. I can't imagine why any of these folks dropped a negative review on this place. A word of warning, the chicken fingers are huge so be careful how many you order!

I get so excited when I'm in the area and can stop by. That chicken is "kickin", perfectly seasoned, and perfectly fried. I hate I was there today and not Friday. That fish is delicious , better than anything I've had at the coast. My one negative. ..that coleslaw is a little too juicy for me. Overall, on a scale of 1-5, a 4.5. Coleslaw knocks them down a few points.

Always good food. Very friendly staff. Chicken fingers are huge. Always a great meal. Fast service. Plenty of vegetables to go with your meal.

Awesome local restaurant well worth the drive. Always clean restaurant and friendly staff and the food is Awesome! They have more than chicken and their Catfish is GREAT!!

Under new Ownership. I ordered catfish. OMG it was sooo delicious. Customer service was great. The lines were long and that proves how good the door is.

Kicking Chicken is Awesome!!!! Here from Texas and live the food and service is great. Down home atmosphere. Highly recommend for dinner.

Killer chicken tenders and fish on Fridays. In my opinion, way better than Canes or Chick Fil A for their chicken (both breading and overall taste).

The best chicken strips I've ever had! The fried okra was also delicious!

We had the fried catfish special and it was the best catfish we have had in quite awhile. We'll eat there again when we're in the area.

Always a great meal here. Wednesday is chicken and rice- the best. They have the largest chicken fingers. Highly recommend
