We stopped by for our first time today. Phoenix was our bartender. She recommended the Chicken Alfredo to me & it did not disappoint. I got the chicken blackened, as well. My fiancé got the loaded tater tots & he enjoyed it, too. Service & food was 10/10. 😊

Quick tip don't trust GPS, it acts stupid trying to find this place....but go find it! Great food had the blacked fish with some of the best rice pilaf I have ever had. They were pretty busy for a Tuesday night but did a good job. So glad I circled the block once more to find it.

We had a late dinner for our 20th anniversary. Food was excellent as always. Our server Joseph R was very respectful and on top of his job.

This place was great! The quality of food overall was exceptional. We unfortunately walked in right after a very large party so things were a bit slow to get to tha table but absolutely understandable. One of the only places around that serves a burger that tastes like a cut of beef rather than just meat.

It was my first time there. The food was great, and the chef went out of his way to make our experience and great one.

Coosa Cleaver is located in downtown Wetumpka, Alabama. It is a restaurant with two floors. The food was amazing and fresh. I will visit this place again to try more than a hamburger and fries.

Since moving to Wetumpka, Cleaver has been my go to spot. Jamie is an amazing bartender. If you want to have a quiet atmosphere then downstairs is for you. However, upstairs is a little more lively. I have not had a bad bartender yet and their supporting staff of servers and food runners are absolutely amazing.

HIGHLY recommend..... all around it was an Awesome restaurant!!! If you haven't been, or are visiting the area, it's a MUST stop kinda place... Food & drinks were so good, and truly authentic! The "bar area" aka Upstairs, is very interactive & low-key, and downstairs is more casual! The staff were all friendly& sweet. The bartenders were extremely knowledgeable, and took the time to conform to the customers tastes/likes!

I enjoyed eating at The Coosa Cleaver. The person taking my order was friendly. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and colored greens. The food came out fast and was plentiful. There was plenty of seating on the main floor with additional seating on the second floor (bar area). I would definitely recommend the restaurant to my: family, friends, and co-workers. Great job guys!

My wife and I ate here on a Sunday evening. The website made me thing there might be white tablecloths but, at least downstairs, it has the atmosphere and decorations of a bar/restaurant. Our service was good and the food was delicious. The menu transcends bar food and came out timely, as we ordered and was good. Prices reasonable.

Dear Coosa Cleaver,
What a lovely hidden gem. We technically were upstairs at the 1909 bar with Jamie as our fabulous server. We had drinks, appetizers, and a view for days. Your tater tot nachos we so good there are no pics to share. Likewise with the flatbread. The city improvements are currently making access difficult, and I really hope you survive the pandemic AND the improvements. You all deserve that. Your kitchen works hard and your cocktails are terrific. Your bathroom signage is the most accurate I’ve ever seen. We wish you all the best! Thank you for a lovely afternoon!

Great friendly staff, order a meatloaf sandwich the bread was home made baked, perfect butter. Mac and cheese was delicious homemade, we had fried pickles not a fan of sweet pickles, also had fried green tomatoes. Fried moon pie (dr.pepper then flour) was delicious served with vanilla ice cream

The Coosa Cleaver was amazing! It is such a cool restaurant in a beautiful old historic building. It has a great vibe as soon as you walk in the door. The Gouda grits were off the chain delicious!! And the chicken sandwich on a brioche bun OMG! Fried chicken thigh, beer braised collard greens, bacon jam and pickled red onion. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried it!! The sweet potato fries as a side dish was the greatest thing ever. It is a must eat place!

A great experience in this quaint town. The atmosphere is rustic and fun with an attentive and friendly staff. The menu offerings are a step above the usual bar food or burger joint. We stopped in for lunch and had a nice meal and spent a pleasant hour inside. We started with the regular Old Bay fries that were well seasoned with a kick. The lobster Mac and cheese was loaded with lobster and crab but my daughter would have liked a little more cheese. My Big Fish sandwich was a light and flaky catfish fillet that overwhelmed the brioche bun. The Creole tartar sauce was good with heat. The flatbread was the most disappointing item as the bottom was a bit over done. Staffing is short so they were kept moving but we never had to look for them. Looking forward to trying out their dinner offerings.

When I moved from Wetumpka to Houston, Wetumpka closed down at 5pm. You had to go to Montgomery to dine after hours with this kind of atmosphere. Now downtown Wetumpka has a little nightlife and it is wonderful . Enjoy this Wetumpka class of 88 35th reunion. My first time at Coosa Cleaver but definitely won't be the last.

The fried Wickles were excellent with the sirachi ranch. They were not spicy at all. The shrimp and grits were some of the best I've ever eaten. The steak sandwich was great also. It was not tough like most. The flavor was excellent. It is definitely a must try if you are in Wetumpka.

Great food for super reasonable prices. Fantastic live music, great bar scene, if you're into that, but also great family atmosphere. Got a fantastic bottle of red blend to go. Always have a pleasant experience. Only downside is the crowdedness. If you have a couple hours to kill, It Is Totally Worth It!

Went back on a Sunday, much less crowded lunch service with a whole new fresh menu. Amazing addition- poptails! Still love this place!

Wow, what a hidden gem! We went here for a friend’s birthday. Started with drinks and appetizers, fantastic. For dinner we ordered each a wedge salad and it was huge, definitely could have split it!! Best Wedge I’ve had in Alabama, I can’t say enough good things. It came with four 1/2 wedges, amazing candied bacon and walnuts. My husband got the meatloaf entree and said it was in his top 3 of all time, quite a feat. I had the shrimp and grits, my oh my, what a treat! I have leftovers for days, we could have definitely split it between 3-4 people! Will come back again and again. Do not miss out.

Great menu options! Service was excellent. They have plenty of seating upstairs and down. The neet salad was delicious as was the Lobster&crab Mac&Cheese portions are large. Meatloaf sandwich was so good it's not ordinary meatloaf it's so moist!
