The doctor and staff are all very nice, but the last three visits we’ve had to wait over an hour. It’s great that we can get last minute appts for emergencies but this definitely isn’t the best office for a working parent that needs accuracy with scheduled appointments.

Really disappointed with our experience today. Our kids are normally patients of Dr. Powell, but his office is closed on Tuesdays and his patients are rerouted to Dr. T's office. I called at 3:12pm because my 13-yr old daughter's mild earache had intensified to the point of visible inner ear swelling, sensitivity to touch, and oozing. She was in so much pain and crying so we got into the car, called their office, and they said they could see her at 3:30pm in the Madison office so we headed that way directly from Owens Cross Roads. We checked in at 3:43. We ended up never getting to see the doctor despite waiting til 4:51pm while my daughter rocked back and forth with tears coming down her face in clear view of the receptionist. They didn't care at all that she was hurting as patient after patient went before her, presumably because they were true Dr. T patients. There's no sense of urgency or compassion at the front desk. I don't know about any of the other staff or doctor, but the receptionist is the face of the office and she should have put some urgency into her care. We ended up leaving and going to the Hsv Hospital Pediatric ER.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would!!! Every encounter I’ve had with this place has been horrible. On our initial visit we brought our children’s vaccination records so they could upload to their system. We returned to the office months later for my youngest sons’ shots and guess what, the office didn’t have his records on file and proceeded to ask me what shots he needed! My oldest son had 2 separate visits (7 months apart) for his asthma medication refill, we saw Dr. T maybe 5 minutes both times, yet one visit was $214 and the other was $108. When I asked the billing department to explain why the charges were so different for the SAME EXACT appointment (prescription refills) they couldn’t explain the charges. When I called the Alabama Children’s Clinic to get more information about the charges, the receptionist rudely told me to get with the billing department. I made sure to call Tricare and let them know about this office and their shady business practices, so other military/retirees can avoid this place and the frustrations that come with it. Beware!!! This isn’t the place you want to take your children! Dirty, unprofessional, always running behind, and the billing discrepancies is more than enough to make you find another pediatrician asap.

BEWARE!! Very poor practices at this doctor's office!
We were billed over a dozen times (a year and a half after we had left this practice) for a full co-pay instead of a reduced co-pay for seeing a nurse practitioner.
After dozens of phone calls, "in-house billing" refused to speak to us about the matter. We contacted Blue Cross and they contacted the clinic manager.
The clinic manager "claims" the nurse practitioner sought advice/direction from the doctor at some point, thus causing us to be charged for seeing a doctor. We NEVER saw a doctor! They even charged us for seeing one of their doctors that wasn't seeing patients at the time due to COVID.

Drove all the way here to do a sleep study. The sleep study was never done just the EEG. Now I have to make another trip all over to get a sleep study for my child. This is a three hour drive had to get a hotel keep my daughter awake all night then give her meds to sleep the next day for NO reason they did NOTHING. Not pleased at all.

Only reason I give one star is to write a review. Terrible service and have to wait over an hour to be seen not once but every single time I come here and that's with an appointment. As we speak looking for a new doctor. To understaffed and unprofessional.

On 12/11/2020 my 13 month old nephew went for his second flu shot. Dr. T is out of the office. Instead the visit was with Tiffany Garrett, FNP. My sister stated to her son has been sick since the first flu shot. Tiffany checked his ears and saw redness in his ear, but did not prescribe the child with any medication. She did not notate the concern on his chart. My sister left with her sick child.

On 12/20/20, my sister took her son to the ER because of his continued illness. She sat in ER for hours with her crying child. She was told he had a prolonged ear infection in the same ear Tiffany Garrett, FNP saw redness. This could have been avoided if her son was given proper care during his visit on 12/11.

I’m deeply concerned with their level of professionalism and ethical practices. No parent should feel ignored or have to demand proper care for their child.

I absolutely dislike Dr.Bell as my baby’s doctor. I call her about concerns about my baby she interrupts me asking if I’m on Medicad. I said no what does that have to do with anything? I feel like she’s judging because I’m black . Anyways, I asked for eczema cream for my baby in May... I didn’t get that medicine until July 1st after calling every day! Now I’m trying to leave their office and they act as if they can’t just send the medical release forms to the next office. They’ve had the forms since July 16th .. today is July 30th. It does take that long to send a 3 month old forms in . I hate how unprofessional they are.

Called to make a new patient appointment for my 4yr old daughter and was asked which doctor I would like to make one with. I said "Dr. Bell". Then I was asked what insurance I would be using. I said "Tricare". I was then told that "Dr. Bell is no longer taking new patients." It's interesting I was told this AFTER I indicated which insurance I would be using. At this moment in time, Alabama Children's Clinic was a provider in the Tricare Network, by the way.

Being a military family already comes with inherent hardships and dealing with establishments such as this one amplifies the difficulty. Denying basic, routine care for a child because, for what ever reason, you deem Tricare as unworthy of your time is disgusting and evil. As it goes, myself and other members of the military will continue defend and fight for your right to turn a blind eye and have zero support for us.

Terrible staff rude and very unprofessional . I knew I should have took my kids from here when I witness several patients treated poorly and complaining about the staff and service. Lord knows I wish I would have went all way through these reviews before hand.
