Huntsville Hospital Emergency Room

Everyone from first responders to the ER took very good care of me. They made sure comfortable as possible. The ER staff got right to me and Dr. Horton in the ER was great. This is one of the best experiences I ever had at Huntsville Hospital ER. Thank you all for taking such good care of me.

My mothers visit was on 23 February 2024, where we found the staff at Huntsville Emergency Department being efficient and knowledgeable. The staff ’s dedication to providing personalized care was evident
with patient-first care approach with its streamlined processing and the extra steps taken to ensure her comfort and my satisfaction.
The room was comfortable and well-maintained, providing a restful atmosphere for her care and recovery. I must commend the medical staff for their professionalism and empathy. Nurses and doctors were attentive, ensuring that my mother received comprehensive care. The support staff, from the receptionists to the security team, contribute to the hospital’s welcoming and supportive environment.
I believe Huntsville Hospital sets a high standard for medical care. With its exceptional staff, and patient-centered services, it stands out as the leading healthcare provider in our community.

I went in with my emergency. They got to me very quickly. Nurses were awesome and caring. Got scans quickly and diagnosed promptly. Doctor on duty explained everything very well. They took very good care of me. They also have taken very good care of my husband also. They deserve a 10.

I suffered from urine retention Tuesday night and was in great distress. My wife drove me to Huntsville Hospital ER around midnight. I was in serious trouble, and the ER staff recognized it and got me back to triage very quickly. Everyone was kind and professional. They inserted a catheter in me and the relief was instant. The staff, nurse Jenny and Dr. Schmidt were very thorough in all the of the tests they ran on me. No one wants to go to ER, but I am so thankful that Huntsville Hospital ER helped me.

It was a best experience by far we have had at an ER . Some of the nicest nurses and staff. It was my elderly mother who was the patient. They were so kind and caring . She had absolutely the greatest nurse Joe . Joe if you read this THANK YOU ! Every one that had contact with my mother was absolutely the kindest and caring people not one person was bad.

Dr W Young was phenomenal. He was kind, caring and made sure I received the treatment that I needed. He was very informative about my results. Amanda and LA were my nurses they were the best. The displayed professionalism and compassion. For me being sick and in pain I couldn’t have asked for a better team to take care of me.

Our nurse Christen was amazing. You could tell he really cared about patient care. He was transparent and kept us updated on the wait for this CT scan. Dr. Willett was also very kind and took all my questions and concerns into consideration in the care of my daughter.

The nurses, doctors and staff were not only professional, but they were friendly. They continually checked on me to see if I needed anything. They showed they truly cared about my health and making sure that I was given the best care possible.

This last experience was top notch compared to other times!! Everyone was so kind, fast and efficient!! Got me take care of quickly! And the doctor and nurses actually cared… or at least made me feel like they did.

Excellent care! Administrative staff courteous, efficient, helpful and polite. Technical staff. professional knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous. Medical staff were professional, answered all my questions, and put me at ease.
Considering how busy the emergency room was (over 35 people waiting at any given time. People coming and going all day) I felt they treated me with the best care possible. Would recommend to anyone.

The staff have been very friendly and accommodating. Ashley has been an exceptional nurse. Raven took time to help us navigate the floor to find the cafeteria.

Had ct done within 30 min of arrival. Had an ed room and md arrive within an hour of arrival with preliminary results of ct and eval of my head injury.

Md returned shortly thereafter ready to stitch me up and share final results of ct. MD answered all my wife’s questions.

I left feeling I received excellent care and it all happened in about 2.5 hrs.

My only criticism was my rn in the ed room (A43). She was very competent and did a good job with my care. She just wasn’t the warmest person I ever met. Probably just her personality. And everyone else was so personable. It just stood out. This is a small criticism. Overall, I could not be happier with the care I received.

I came down with acute and agonizing pain on a Friday evening at 5:30 PM, which is perhaps the most inconvenient time to enter an ER.

I drove myself to the ER and parked myself in VIP parking outside the entrance, which I wasn’t allowed to do, but the parking attendant saw the lack of color in my face and allowed me to stay parked there.

I signed in and was triaged fairly quickly.
Considering I was in agonizing pain, completely lacking color in my face, and shaking/sweating — they put me in the “fast lane” for receiving tests and getting assigned to a bed.

I proceeded through blood tests, ultrasound, CT scan, and arrived in a bed in a very timely fashion for having driven myself & having walked myself into the ER lobby.

I am originally from a very large city, and I was extremely happy with my overall experience from the point of entering the ER lobby at Huntsville Hospital, until I left after being discharged 24 hours later from the 5th floor observation unit.

The nursing staff and doctors were wonderful, and everyone was extremely pleasant to interact with.

I understand it is difficult to walk into an ER on Friday evening at 5:30 PM, but I was in agonizing pain and they prioritized me appropriately. I was seen and treated in a timely fashion.

I feel great comfort in knowing I live next to the hospital, and have access to a hospital which will accommodate individuals (as appropriate) who walk through their ER lobby doors.

5-stars for a wonderful experience on one of the worst (and most painful) days of my life.

Great team over there! They were so kind and attentive when I showed up with my 4 year old who was absolutely not sick while helping me with my emergency. They were comforting and reassuring as well as very detailed with their diagnosis and treatment.

I went to Huntsville Hospital Emergency Room on Wednesday, November 1,2023 with a problem involving numbness and tingling in my right hand. I was greeted promptly and courteously and almost immediately was seen by the staff for information gathering, after which I was returned to the waiting room. Not much more than ten minutes passed before I was taken into triage and thence to a large and well-stocked exam room. A nurse took more details and updated my records. I waited not much longer than ten minutes for the doctor. He was courteous, friendly and professional, just as the other staff had been. He soon determined that while amelioration was within the scope of the ER, fixing the cause would have to be handled by my orthopedist. He gave me an injection for pain along with a prescription to help until I can see my orthopedist. My visit lasted less than an hour and a half, from walking in to walking back to the car. I was surprised at the speed of service and quite happy with the level of care I received. I would definitely choose Huntsville Hospital’s ER over the other choices available, though of course I hope never to need them again.

I was having muscle spasms in my lower back. I was taken back quickly.The doctor and nurse were very knowledgeable,they got my pain under control pretty fast. My brief stay there was very pleasant. Thanks they had great bedside manner. Thank you guys,have a very Merry Christmas 🎁🎄.

The staff at Huntsville Hospital has always shown respect, compassion and understanding from the front door back to treatment. I recently had the stomach flu and they were able to get me back on my feet in no time with fluids and meds. I recommend Huntsville Hospital to anyone needing emergency care.

Even though the wait was quite long to see the doctor, everyone was very nice & friendly and professional. They went above and worked outside the box to show that they really cared about myself and the other patients there. The ER was extremely busy but no one seemed to get impatient with the volume of patients or questions that they had to answer by impatient patients!! LOL! If I ever need the ER again this will be my choice.

When I was in ER the place was packed. But the ER personnel stayed busy and kept things rolling. Nurse Kara took me to my room, C22, to be seen by the Doctor. She was very nice and polite. She left before I had chance to thank her. Please relay Thank You to her for me.

I wanted to brag on your ER department. Last night I went in because a walk in clinic had seen a spot on my lung that was worrisome. Insurance was giving me the run around on getting a CT scan and the DR suggested I just go to the ER.

Even though it was a long wait, the admins, nurses, and doctors were absolutely amazing. I was there right at 11 hours and watched as your staff treated everyone with courtesy, respect, and compassion even as they were being berated by patients angry about wait times or other things. They all went well above and beyond to maintain their demeanor. They treated me as if I were a priority when I knew I was far more stable than many others. Everything they checked my vitals in the waiting room they were asking how I was, they were encouraging me that I was doing the right thing and that everything would work out OK. The nurses, administration, triage teams were all incredible and it is tremendously appreciated.
