Mercy has long had a saying of “the Mercy Touch.” Not sure how they do it, but they manage to hire people who go the extra mile, give a little better, and care just a little bit more. Have experienced everything from labs to ER to surgical procedures to unexpected hospitalization. The Mercy Touch is very real and much appreciated.

The care was outstanding all the way from start to finish. The Doctor Blake A. Eyberg put forth a high level of effort to deliver results he is a GREAT surgeon. The support staff was very professional and pleasant. The facility was well equipped and designed for patient privacy, service and efficiency. The electronic prescription process worked great. The Molina insurance was handled equally as well. We will highly recommend “Mercy Cedar Rapids”hospital at every opportunity. Great JOB guys you all did above and beyond!!! I highly recommend Dr. Blake A. Eyberg and his whole team if you have any problem with your knees.

I went in to have my shoulder replaced, I had a complication, normal one, and spent 3 days in the ICU unit, and moved up to 8th floor to prepare for home. the staff at Mercy hospital amazed me let me tell you about them, from the housecleaner to the Charge Nurse, kitchen staff I met nothing short of kindness, caring , excellence in each person, every single staff member was poite, you could feel their positivity and sincerity. And when they asked how I was doing, they MEANT it. I thank them and I would recommend Mercy Hospital to anyone.

The endocrinology department is outstanding and compassionate towards their patients and one another. I can only describe my experience as performed by perfect synchronized swimmers before a colonoscopy. Truly 10/10.

My grandson recently had a scare after a trip to Belize when he was bitten on his posterior calf area. He went to South Mercy Urgent care after I found he had cellulitis around his bite, they treated that but did not do a culture of his bite or address it. I then got him into my Dr as a new patient, more valuable time gone by after culture etc. Then he was sent to Dr Arnold a wound care specialist, who , in my mind reminded me of my early years in nursing because he listened carefully, took notes and researched all the possibilities before my grandson came to him. He was on target and did what needed doing way back from his visit to Urgent care. I have been a nurse ( recently retired) since 1979 and my concern was whatever was going on was dangerous to his heart condition. Thank Dr Flory and staff for being patient when he became frustrated, understandable and connecting him with Dr Arnold, he cannot say enough good about him and I am impressed with his dedication and excellent care of my grandson .

I cannot say enough about how fantastic Mercy’s pain clinic is. Dr. Harman is the BEST at taking time and explaining everything.
I really appreciate that all of the staff at the pain clinic chose to wear masks even though it is no longer required…it really shows that they value and care for the health of their patients ❤

Just came home after knee surgery at mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. I could not have asked for better care. The nurses, techs, P/T, O/T, food service and volunteers took the time to answer any questions, never acted like I was an imposition (had this at other hospitals!) and were friendly to me and my wife the entire visit. They are a first class act and this is why we always come back to Mercy for any of our major medical needs! Love the 3rd floor staff!!!

I cannot say enough great things about this hospital.
Prior to my surgery I had several tests ran which took me all over facility. All areas were superb and so genuine to put my fears aside and get me through the day. My stay in intensive care area was filled with the greatest nursing staff I have ever experienced. No one wants to go to a hospital but this is the very best around.

I'm from out of town and visited this hospital after an accident on an Iowa freeway. I cannot say enough good about the level of care I received at their E & T Center. Thorough, professional, attentive, timely, and caring. Starting at intake and ending with security staff as I exited.

A special and very grateful thanks and appreciation to Dr. Brian D Doherty and Tom (sorry, Tom, I forgot your last name), my attending nurse. Empathetic, engaged, concerned, exceptionally professional, and thorough. While I couldn't do what these folks perform, routinely, I can easily recognize when a medical pro wants the very best outcome for another person, and that it's within their knowledge and training to make-that-happen.

Also many, many!, thanks to the support staff, the imaging techs, lab personnel, and of course the persons who wheeled me around in a timely and caring way. You guys rock! (Special Note to management: "thank you!")

Ok, that's it, I can recommend this hospital from personal experience.

Semper fi from another, random, injured traveler. -RE

We already attend a MercyCare location for our general practitioner. So, when we needed emergency care last weekend, it was an easy choice to head over to Mercy. We had an excellent experience with the ER staff on call that evening. The registrant was friendly when we walked in and greeted us immediately with her computer in tow. We had to wait about 5 minutes, but that was better than we had expected. The triage nurse was friendly and competent before showing us to our room. Our main nurse that evening, Elise, was incredibly friendly and comforting - very attentive. We needed some blood-work, and the gentleman taking blood was one of the best I've ever had take my blood - friendly, quick, competent. No one likes giving blood, and I especially don't! So, it was extra helpful to have him taking the blood, when I was already stressed about our situation in being there. The practitioner was also very nice, explained things well, and answered all of our questions with solid, helpful answers. All in all, the emergency room could have been a scarier situation, and it was a pleasant one. We're grateful for the care received! Thank you to the staff that evening.

Although I was vaccinated, I came down with Covid related pneumonia and had to be hospitalized in the Covid area. I'll admit I was so sick I don't remember too much about the first few days. After that I definitely remember the wonderful care I received. All the nurses and staff were so kind and helpful. There isn't a thing I would change regarding the care I received. Love Mercy Hospital!

How do you say thanks to a place that saves your moms life? You say thank you. My mother had a minor heart attack, and was without insurance. The docs were top notch, and the nurses worked hard to make sure that my mother understood what she needed to do to live and be healthy. However, the people that went above and beyond were the ladies in I'm assuming is the financial aid office. They busted their rears to get my ma insured. Both my mom and I worked hard to get her insured, but couldn't do so. But the ladies in finances did. Thank you Mercy Medical, you guys rock!

Accompanied my sister to her surgery this morning and was so fortunate to have Rachel as her nurse for pre-op. Rachel was caring, compassionate, and everything we could have hoped for in a nurse, Mercy is so lucky to have such a wonderful person working for them.

During a recent crisis with a loved one, we couldn't have had a better experience. Social worker Courtney and ER RN were compassionate, caring and utterly professional. In the ICU, Nurses Claire, Rebecca, and another - who's name I can't recall - were attentive, vigilant and caring in every way. I would go there for anything from a sniffle to if I was dying. Can't say enough good things...

A well run healthcare facility with friendly and efficient staff. I've had to visit there on a few different occasions, and also taken some friends when they needed some form of medical attention. The people who were on duty were always personable, good at their work, and we were grateful for the attention we were given.
