Interred here are the Sivley family including Jacob Sivley a Revolutionary War soldier who fought with George Washington at Valley Forge. Also thought to be buried here is the Founder of Huntsville Alabama John Hunt in an unmarked grave. There was at one time an old antebellum home just west of here where the Sivley family lived. It had one of the most beautiful circular stairways in this area including other ornate building embellishments of the times. Sadly it was bulldozed and all its architecture was demolished.
I am making an effort to the find the lost monument for Archibald T. Maddera and get it installed here, Maddera was another early pioneer of Huntsville whose stone was likely bulldozed in the building expansion going on at the 911 center. See Maddera in Madison County on Findagrave.
