Madison County License Department

As a life long resident of the Huntsville, I’ve grown to hate the DMV. However, this experience was extremely pleasant. The inside was packed with people but I was in and out in 15 minutes. Nice people and clean.

This was the fastest I have EVER conducted business at a DMV! I didn't even get to sit in the posh seats to wait because my number was called right away! Tuesdays at 10 a.m. may be a sweet time to go there!

Walked in and was disheartened at seeing a hundred + folks sitting and waiting. Got my ticket and before I could remember my number I got called right back. Wow. Never in my life had I spent so little time at the DMV and left completely satisfied. No problems. I spent more time walking to and from my car than I did in the building.

Please note: The Licensing Division is NO LONGER AT THIS LOCATION even though their website says it is. It is now at the new county building located on 1918 N Memorial Pkwy Huntsville, AL 35801 (SE corner of Oakwood and Memorial Parkway). The building is really nice. I went on a Wed morning and as soon as I checked in using their touch scene, I was called back. 10 mins later I was out the door. I only interacted with a few ladies but they were both very nice.

The last two times I went to get a temporary tag for my vehicle went really well. There was no one in line so I got seen right away. The representative was cordial and quiet but she knew what to do and she helped me promptly and answered my questions. I have no complaints about the service or the quality of service at this location.

I always use this location and skip the satellite station in the mall, have never had an issue. Don't procrastinate and go on the last day of the month or you'll be waiting in line for a little while.......And I saw another person leave a bad review about bringing a hobbling 90 year old in to get their license renewed but they were closed. Really? 90 and still driving?

Please give everyone who work here raises. They knocked it out of the park in terms of customer service and efficiency. This is how Huntsville should be !

When you need to get something done such as license renewal, etc....just go to the courthouse....they are quick and professional!

I have personally had a better experience there than any other madison county license dept.

2. North Memorial Pkwy Branch

What an awesome place! Quick in and out to replace a lost driver's license. Lots of parking for easy access.

Tight security. Excellent service. Got new plates in 10 minutes.

I’ve always had fast and courteous service here, much better than the mall location.

They've really upped their game and streamlined services. Its a lot better than it used to be!
