United Church of Huntsville

After a little over a year of the covid19 pandemic, our church has finally been able to reopen, with masks and socially distanced. It was such a wonderful feeling, being able to be in each other's presence for the first time. Our church is a very loving church, and I know that there were probably more than a few of us who were close to tears finally getting together.

It is true the staff at United Church is tiny. I live in Dallas, TX and when I have not spoken directly to Pastor Bob Hurst, I have been able to reach him easier through email which is so easy to do on any smart phone. The United Church can also easily be accessed through Facebook. It is a wonderful church that everyone should experience.

Of course, I think everyone should come to church at a place that says "no matter where you are on life's journey, you are welcome." Period. Full stop.

Such wonderful people, they helped my family with food even when we were in need. I can't thank them enough.

Everyone welcome! LGBTQ friendly because we are ALL God's children. Open communion.

This is an amazing place. The new pastor Brian Byrne is like a breath of fresh air.

This is a wonderful church and the people are very welcoming and friendly.

I love this Church ,it's my Brother church, but there are wonderful Christians, there!

update 2/16/2019 : Since the departure of the pastor the members have turned on one another. They have resorted to bullying of the ones they feel "don't belong". This is the adults bullying the children, some of which are special needs. If you are looking for a church, United Church of Huntsville is not it! They claim "no matter where in life's journey are you, you are always welcome here" but this has became the least inviting environment I have seen from a church in all my years. I NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS CHURCH AT ALL!!!!

I had turned away from all religious establishments due to the greed and judgement I had seen from so MANY Christians. I was invited by a friend to attend here many times and finally gave in. I was super impressed! The people were friendly, down to earth, and there was no judgement passed due to my appearance. When they say "no matter where you are in life's journey, you always have a place here"(I may not have that exactly right) they mean it. They are an open and affirming church who rather than preaching hell fire and damnation, they challenge you to have a Christ like heart through giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate. They encourage socialization through fellowship following every Sunday service and "Sharing Table" on Thursday nights. The congregation are extremely understanding when it comes to children (including those on the autism spectrum or with special needs). I would highly recommend this church to anyone.
