LEILA'S KITCHEN

First of all guys remember this place is a Mexican fusion restaurant. I have had food from Mexican restaurants but this was different and delicious. Definitely worth trying for.

Restaurant itself was very open and welcoming and the owner Mr. Shakeel makes your arrival more fun and pleasant.

After getting the menus, we were served tortilla chips with queso and salsa. Which was very good and delicious. We asked the owners recommendation and he recommended fajitas and enchiladas. Later we also placed an order for to go pizza.

Fajitas came on a sizzling hot plate and came with a side of rice and beans, onions, avacado, tomatoes, jalapeños, and of course tortillas. Meat was very delicious; tender, juicy and good flavor. Wife's enchiladas were good. It was a definite fusion of flavors and spices. Chicken was juicy and full of flavor. Cheese and sauce could have been a little thicker but still enjoyable. Enchiladas also came with rice and beans.

Pizza was a flatbread pizza with a nice sauce and good amount of cheese. We got ground beef and beef pepperoni. There was a lot a ground beef but could have been a tad more pepperoni. But overall the pizza was delicious.

But you guys..... the amazing, creamy, sweet, melt in your mouth, slap your momma it was so good pièce de resistance was the Flan. We didn't order this, the owner just brought it to us. He was very friendly the whole time and had a slew of "dad jokes" from the moment we walked in until we were out the door. He was very personable and held conversations with us.

This is a must try Everything on the menu kinda stop..The Your At Home Comfortable Feeling Shakeel has created makes his masterpiece Dishes all the more satisfying to the #Soul.. Delicious is but a word compared to the many depths of flavor in each bite..
My #Gyros was perfect, from the toasted bread to the Made #fresh #Tzatziki sauce, juicy #Tomatoes, and crunchy fresh cucumbers...
Now this #Seafood Stuffed #Avocado needs recognition from #FoodNetwork..The plate was perfectly seasoned from this rice to the beans.. There wasn't a thing I would change about this experience..
Ok so as for that #beautiful plate of #Flan yes he made that with heart..

Went to this lovely diner few days ago with my roommate and had the pleasure of being waited on by the owner. Great guy with great recipes. This place is a sort of fusion between middle Eastern and Mexican cuisine. I strongly recommend tthe loaded enchiladas.

Stuffed avocados here are great! Salsa has good kick. Owner is very friendly.

Honest opinion here; I have came here 5 times now and wanted to try several dishes before posting an honest review about consistency. So far every time I have come I have brought new people and had an opportunity to see many of Shakeels dishes. Every dish has been fantastic with only the best ingredients as Shakeel shops at many different places in the area to hand pick only the best ingredients... honestly the food is amazing. The pizza does take close to 50 minutes as Shakeel makes the dough from scratch once ordered. Just try the place and see for your self. Tell'em Jake sent you.

I saw Leila's as we were driving home from the DMV and decided to try it for dinner. The restaurant was empty, which was concerning, but I still wanted to give it a shot. We were greeted by the owner who was happy to make recommendations since it was our first time there. I ordered cheese enchiladas and my daughter ordered chicken enchiladas. We didn't have to wait long at all. Our food was delicious. The owner sat and chatted with us while we ate and we had a very pleasant conversation.

Now, is this classic Mexican food? Somewhat. My absolute favorite was the rice. It had spices/herbs/ingredients that I could not recognize off hand, but it was delicious!

We will definitely be back and I will venture into other menu options. I would highly recommend you give it a try.

Delicious food and even better service.

I’ve been here multiple times and every time the food has been wonderful! It’s not exactly traditional Mexican food and it has some fusion elements to the food, but all of it works! Definitely have the beef fajitas! The owner made me feel like family, and absolutely had a passion for the craft and for the food he made.

Reasonably priced, big meals, and great service! Kinda hidden away, but it’s definitely worth checking out at least once!

LOVED the food here! We were a little hesitant because Mediterranean and Mexican fusion is kindof scary, but the food is absolutely fantastic. The owner is wonderful and kind and very sweet, the food is unique, but delicious, and the place is very clean. Definitely recommend everyone try it out! It's rather competitively priced as well!

I ordered pizza from them and it was so delicious!
The owner is so sweet with wonderful costumer service .
It was a 100 degrees out it was obvious I was hot the owner asked if I wanted bottle water and I declined wanting to save money .
As I was heading out with my boxed pizza he ran outside with a bottle for me and my little one!
I’ll definitely be returning to try the many other tasty looking items !

Very interesting, despite a lot of excellent Mexican dishes which they do well, their pizza was truly outstanding, even when compared to the best I have tasted in Italy or in New York City. I leave Chicago pizzas out of this equation because theirs are what pizza should be anyway. The owner is an entertaining character as well, and quite refreshingly, not quite politically correct.
A true gem of a place.

This is possibly the best restaurant in the Clear Lake area. Shakeel's use of top quality ingredients ensures the food and flavors are always on point. We prefer this casual, genuine experience over other restaurants in the area. Shakeel is part of the appeal as not only is he a fantastic cook, but a fantastic host. Very friendly and generous, and he has a great sense of humor. We love the conversation as much as the delicious food. If you are looking for something great and refreshing, try it out. You won't be disappointed!

My wife and I ate there today and the food was great. Shakeel takes care to ensure that the food is not only fresh and tasty but is also healthy. The front counter is stacked with additional products that you can request be added to your dishes. You’ll love this place.

I have known the owner, Shakeel, for literally my entire life. Anything he puts on your plate is made with love from raw ingredients. I've never had something i didn't enjoy eating. Always a pleasure catching up with him. If you're on the fence about trying this place out, it's worth it.

Out of this world spicy chicken breast, the fajitas are amazing, and the rice with beans are great!!!! Awesome staff, really nice. Feels like you've known each other for years. Definitely eating here again.

I've been coming here since I was about 5 years old and turned on dozens of people to his restaurant. He's moved locations about 4 times now but I manage to find him everytime. Shakeel has always offered great tasting food at very reasonable prices. I'm excited to have tracked him down again and looking forward to visiting his new location for lunch in a few minutes!

The uncle there was very nice and accommodating. I ordered the smoothie with mixed fruit and the fajita special which came with chili con queso for my husband and I. Everything tasted fresh and exceeded our expectations. My favorite was the smoothie. In my opionion it is a small Mexican food restaurant with a desi touch (serves halal).

Great food and attentive service! I had the chicken enchiladas which were flavorful with a subtle twist in fusion fashion.

A comfy mom and pop establishment that I will be going back to. Plus, I need to try their gyros!

This is a man with a passion for his food and his customers. Mexican food is his specialty, I have been raised on it. If you are enjoy something with a twist get the soft chicken tacos. They are a traditional Mexican soft chicken taco juices and all, infused with Indo-Pak spices and herbs. Come here and be treated like family where your glass is never empty and the food is always hot.

I visit Leila’s at least once a week. Best fajitas and stuffed tortillas in town! Shakeel makes you feel right at home with his attentiveness to service and quality food.

A hidden gem! The owner Shakil takes pride in his food, which is all totally delicious. It’s a fusion sort of place, with Mexican and middle eastern foods. The gyros are TO DIE FOR. Shakil makes his own yogurt tzatziki, and all the ingredients are super fresh. When we went, there were not many customers. I will definitely come back!
