My son Loves Overhills Middle. He has made new friends and all his teachers are professional and keep us well informed. There are to many clubs to choose from and my son cant wait for all the avid trips.

This school is the WORST. Poor communication between all of the staff and students, AND this school has the worst teachers in history Ms.Dicassio will yell at the students for no reason, I am in front of her class in 2nd core and I can hear her yelling at kids for no reason. I wish this school would burn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a parent of 2 children who have attended Overhills Middle School. I am also very involved in volunteering at the school. To say that I think everything is perfect at the school would not be the truth. However, I do see a positive change from the past few years. It will take time to build the school up to its potential. From my experience I find the people who usually complain do not take the time to volunteer and help out at the school. This is the first year in several years that a parent has stepped up to run the PTA. People are trying to make a difference there are just not enough people willing to help. When Overhills goes to academic competitions such as Science Olympiad and Battle of the Books they place very high. Our band is an incredible band that doesn’t get the credit they deserve. I must also disagree with the person who said that the teachers are in it for the money. Obviously they are unaware of what teachers make. Many teachers in our community must work 2nd jobs just to pay their bills.
I am for the changes this year. There is a lot more structure which is something our youth of today need. Instead of fighting the administration we need to try and work with them and make the school better. There are a lot of great teachers at OMS

I arrived at this school a little bit after Thanksgiving break. Mrs. Tomlinson was my homeroom teacher and she almost NEVER showed me how she likes things to be done in her classroom- and when I did something wrong, she would embarrass me while all my peers are in the room. Mr Hagermoser was one of my favorite teachers, and actually cared about my education and myself as a person. Dr Evans was rude. Whatever 'accent' she speaks with is not understandable. I didn't know what she was saying half of the time. She did not learn my name until my mom came to complain about her calling me 'new girl' the first few weeks after I arrived to the school. She barely taught me any math, the math that I actually remember is from the school I attended before I went to Overhills, or one of Dr. Evan's substitutes. She is COMPLETELY disrespectful to the children. I have seen her on many occasions basically screaming in a child's face, beating on their desk in frustration, and telling us to 'Shut up' nearly every day. Mrs. Young is another one of my few favorite teachers at Overhills. She also genuinely cared about my learning, and is very polite if you act the same way to her. Mrs. Ronald is the last on my list of favored teachers. She was my gym teacher, but it by far my all time favorite. She understands when you're trying your best, and that your best is all you got. She was EXTREMELY nice to me, and made me feel more comfortable in my first few weeks at this unwelcoming school. By the way, there is no nurse at this school. I thought that was a little unethical. As for the students, for lack of a better word, are ghetto. There are fights, people high that go to school, kids walking out of class, obscenities, and more disgusting behavior. The whole year, I sat back and observed this school's atmosphere. It's not a good place for a child. My first few days, they all seemed nice to me. They talked to me, and invited me to join their conversations. They eventually stopped inviting me. I found my own group of friends who were very sweet to me in my short time at this purely disgraceful school. There are no mirrors in the bathrooms, no dressing out for gym class, teachers who sometimes don't show up to a day of school, and if they do, they could possibly be very late arriving, leaving the students standing outside the classroom for a good 15 minutes after the students are released to go to their homeroom. Please, take this advice from a student who attended the school; do not make your child go through this hell.

They make us carry all our stuff. All our lockers hold is our empty book bags. On top of all our stuff we have to put our Chromebooks on the top and they expect us not to drop them. The cafeteria is nasty. They do not provide soap or paper towels and that´s whats getting us sick. So I do not recommend going here if you want a safe environment and learning place for your child.
