I just traveled to Orange County, where I picked up a copy of a marriage license from back in 1972. from the County's Register of Deeds. What a Stellar group of people the county has in that Department.

They were very attentive & prompt in providing the requested documents. it's too bad "State Offices" cannot operate as efficiently!

Not what you expect from a gov office. Very nice team and they are there to help you. You are not a head of cattle here like 90% of all the gov offices. I would drive the extra miles just for that true human interaction.
Durham-Raleigh people you should go there next time and see it for yourselves!!!

The most friendly and helpful staff! I needed to get copies of my marriage license and they even offered further help with phone numbers for social security to make an appointment and the dmv as well without me even asking. Such great attitudes!

Went for a marriage license. Man at desk was funny, helpful, knowledgeable, and made the experience worthwhile. Highly highly recommend this place; it was one of my most fun experiences in the whole wedding planning process, entirely unexpectedly.
