Town of Hillsborough Water & Sewer Bill Pay

I've lived in my house almost 16 years, paid my bill as soon as I received it every month.

I don't understand why they can't return my deposit unless I cancel service. The first time I set up an account with Duke Energy, they returned my deposit after a year.

Our payment was one day late and they charged us a $45 fee and threatened to disconnect our water. Absolutely ridiculous. I have never had a balance and always pay on time. There are no other options for water so now I am on the autopay to ensure this doesn’t happen again, which feels odd since I don’t trust that they are competent enough to ensure my bill is accurate each month (we have had issues) overall poor service. Very disappointing.

They’ve been charging me an out of town rate for water and sewer for 6 years when I live well within the city limits. Then when I ask them to fix the issue so I’m not paying twice as much as I should a month, they tell me I need to pay a deposit to start up a new service! I keep trying to call to get this sorted and it takes a week for anyone to even call me back. It should also be said that I was originally told by more than one person that my bill was so high because of my “water habits”. I had to push and push to get them to finally realize it was because of a clerical issue on their end as to why it was high, not my water habits. This is and has been a horrible experience with Hillsborough water and sewer.

I’ve purchased a home in Hillsborough and need services transferred into my name. Due to Covid, workers are working from home and operating on a “leave a voicemail and someone will call you back” or “send an email and someone will get back to you” service. I’ve been trying since June 26 to get someone to call me back or finalize our transfer and we’ve had absolutely no luck. We’re now 3 days away from our move and still haven’t received a call or confirmation our services are set up and I’ve called/emailed multiple times a week. I understand it’s a hectic time with changes to how we work due to covid but this is highly disappointing and unacceptable.

Can we have the water bill online end the month please

They turned off my water over a twenty dollar oversight on my bill and now they want it paid in full before service is restored. Haven't missed a payment in two years and this is how they treat you. It was my mistake but we're talking the cost of a pizza is how much I was behind. This should be criminal.

They have a minimum billing system for the water services. In case you don't know what that means, you are guaranteed to be billed at least $111 a month for sewer and water. Used 98 gallons of water my first month in the house, used 2300 second month. Exact same bill. This is insanity.

Awful to deal with if you have to call. Quick to take your money, slow if you have an issue

They were supposed to be drafting my bill.Failed to doso and cut my water off without notce.

Hate the water system here in Hillsborough. They are criminals here.
