Amy with the Tax Office was friendly and helpful. I was expecting this to be an unpleasant experience, but I was pleasantly surprised! Thanks Chatham County!

I own a home on silk hope liberty Road, and which I was awarded during a divorce proceeding. The agreement according to the settlement was it once the house is paid off the deed with transfer. The attorney representing my husband, faltered and did not transfer the title or deed and it only became apparent to me when I did not receive my Waste Management stickers which is a privilege and what you pay for in the county. Pontificating last year I found that the US Postal Service forwarded my management stickers to the mail on my listed. Deed which was my ex-husband because he had put a forwarding change of address. Once I was aware of the situation, I then had my attorneys, have the deed signed over and logged in the recorder of deeds office in Chatham County on March 2023. This year, I I once again and not receive Waste Management stickers for the county and which is a privilege in which I pay for. Once I started investigate again over 3 1/2 weeks ago, everyone laid blame on each and every department not taking accountability. This is blatantly a discrimination issue because I am a female that owns property in Chatham County. After investigating which they will knew last year with my attorneys, filing the deed and informing each department they should not have happened. But yet they cannot figure out why they have a High Point address when the address is here for over 30 years 28 years where the property resides that I am the owner as the female on the property. This issue was brought up to the Director of Waste Management with laying blame on the tax office in which I had already talk to the recorder of deed office inwhich the tax office blames the deed office and got the booking number that everybody was informed last year. Waste Management was to just sent stickers over two weeks ago and they were given an ultimatum to have that resolved by a week or so ago only to say that they have no blame and are now sending them this week. No accountability! We need to make a public notification that Chatham County has a strict discriminatory attitude towards females and ownership, and any type of advancement through females to any means within the county. Today the tax office called I gave them the book number. I want it resolved. I want the individual that had given that address and sent my tags somewhere else and gave false information to the waste management department accountable. Accountability to the tax payers and a service that you pay for separately! I know if this is not said, it’s settled with satisfaction then the next step would be hiring a private, residential, disposable company and withdrawing any support to Waste Management due to the tax office is negligence and discriminatory nature. We shall see what happens but this will be public . Thank you.

I am highly disappointed with this place (not the nice ladies that work in the office) the management department. For all the home owners that pay their taxes through ESCROW, Chatham County Tax Office will not send a bill to your home escrow department as they have done in the past. I am not mad at that, what I am upset about no official notification of this change. Chatham County residences will get a letter about everything else in this county, but nothing about no longer sending a duplicate bill to your ESCROW department (which I feel is very important). Chatham County we have to do better. I want to say the lady that assisted me with this issue at the Tax Office was professional and called me back informing me of this change.
