I have been coming here for years. They are always helpful and explain what is wrong with your vehicle and give you the options for repair. I feel like their prices are fair and they have always been welcoming and helpful whenever I have needed help. However they are usually busy because they are a good shop so you might have a wait but they will try to fit you in if they can.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this automotive shop for a state inspection, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. In all my years of car ownership, I've never encountered a place quite like this one. The standout feature for me was the incredible speed at which they conducted the inspection.

From the moment I arrived to the time I drove away, it was all done in less than 20 minutes. I was left in awe. It's safe to say that this shop truly respects your time, and I greatly appreciate that. Even my husband, who is a man of very few words, was so impressed that he left a review as well a few months ago.

One thing that truly sets this place apart is their genuine approach. Unlike many other auto shops, they didn't try to sell me any unnecessary services or persuade me to change my filters, which I've experienced in the past. The absence of aggressive upselling was a breath of fresh air.

And as for the cost, I was pleasantly surprised. I expected to pay at least $50 for a state inspection, but it was far more affordable than I had anticipated. Target, here I come, ha :)

So, if you're looking for a place that's efficient, respectful of your time, and won't break the bank, this automotive shop should be your top choice. They've won me over and I'll be coming here for all services.Thank you!

I have been going to this shop for at least 12-15 years. Great service team, great prices, honest and knowledgeable too. Give them a shot, you'll be pleased.

Great service. Fixed my truck when I brought it in for a fair price. Diagnosed my car for no charge when that was brought in. Make an appointment a week or 2 in advance as they are busy but we'll worth the wait.

My prius broke down after leaving the Green bean place - pulled into Performance Auto and left my car there over night. Called and talked to a guy named Wesley. Very nice guy - said it was cool if I leave the prius there until I get it towed tonight after work. I was worried about being charged or my car removed. Nice guy - appreciate the help. 5 stars for customer service, even without being a customer.

Auto shops are extremely busy and often take advantage of people who are in a bind. This has not been my experience with Performance Auto. I have been there several times for lightweight items like steering shaft, alignment, diagnosis, etc...
They always treat me with respect, good communication, and trying to provide the best price and quality work. Really the "ideal" local shop to have. I popped in the other day as I was doing some repairs on my own vehicle at home and couldn't find a specific nut from any local hardware/auto stores - the employee went in the back and found the right size nut and had me back up and going same day. Really appreciate their help each time. Let's hope things don't change and they keep employee great people, skilled at what they do with customer first intentions.

After going to Chapel Hill Tire since we moved here 4 years ago, I noticed they tried to repetitively sell, and re-sell, me services I did not need, and way under the min required mileage.

I went to several highly reviewed mechanics, before I went to Performance, for transmission fluid service. One mechanic thought I had a CVT transmission, which I do not, and told me he could not service it. Another mechanic quoted me a certain amount over the phone after I gave them my VIN, but after I brought my vehicle to them they told me because the transmission did not have a dipstick they were going to charge me an addl $100. Two other mechanics told me I had to drop my vehicle off first thing in the morning, that it could take all day, and I could not wait for it. I only have one car so what was I supposed to do for x # of hours? Getting an Uber to go back and forth to my home would have added on costs for the service.

When I called Performance, they gave me a price that happened to have been the lowest out of all the other mechanics I went to, they told me it would take about an hour, I did not have to come by first thing in the morning, and that I could wait while it was being worked on. And the best part was....they did exactly what they promised. And they really impressed me by not trying to sell me parts or services that I did not need.

Finding a good, and honest ,mechanic, who follows through on what they say, is not easy. We will be using Performance Automotive going forward; and to the owners, I have left this review on Nextdoor as well. Thank you very much!

What a wonderful experience with this shop and their employees.
I emailed them to inquire about a repair estimate I got from Johnson Subaru (that took 2 weeks to receive BTW) to see if they would be a less expensive option. Subaru wanted to charge me $8200 for a new wiring harness and head gasket engine reseal and would take over 38 hours of labor to repair. Subaru also added extra services I didn't need like an alignment and balance.
After a good conversation with Performance Automotive and a neighbor telling me he has had good experiences with them, I had it towed to them from Subaru.
Performance looked at my car and told me the wiring harness was the problem, but it could be repaired and they did not detect any leaks from the head gaskets so a reseal was not necessary. My repair cost went from $8200 at Subaru to $214 with them.
Finally an honest shop with nice people who are attentive, actually return calls and reply to emails. I cannot thank Andrew, Tonya and their crew enough.

I brought my car to get the alternator replaced. They did it quickly, and they did a great job. The people were also really friendly. Definitely coming here from now on.

Quick turnaround for a failed starter. My trucks starter went out at the post office across the road. Performance was able to change it by lunch the next day for a very reasonable amount.

We recently started taking our vehicles to Performance for inspections as well as regular (and unexpected) maintenance. The shop provides the most timely appointments as possible, thorough and friendly delivery of service details/prices, and we trust them. Glad to have a local go-to auto shop that we can count on!

We had been told by a different mechanic that our AC compressor needed replacing. When we went to Performance, we told them that. Turned out to be just a faulty wire and cost far less than a compressor. Honesty and quality, Performance was awesome.

They were very pleasant to deal with And were able to get my car in and repair it right away.

Honest, straightforward and fair. What more could you ask for in an auto shop. Danny and Stephen were very professional and courteous. They came in at the exact quote and even did a little extra with no charge, like fixing my back window. They're very busy which, to me, means they are trusted by the local residents. They provide a very comfortable waiting area with TV and coffee and even have a shuttle service. Awesome!

Reasonably priced and great service. Very satisfied with my truck repair with replacing 2 broken valve springs on my f250.

I used Performance Auto simply because they were nearby when we moved here. We used them several times now and were very pleased with the quick service each time. Prices were reasonable also. Each person I have dealt with there was pleasant and professional.

These folks are good at what they do at a very fair price.

My husband and I have used this service shop for easily 10 years. They have always done quality work for a reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone who asked.
