North Georgia Gem. This is a well maintained gorgeous place. We stayed in a cottage and enjoyed our stay very much. The lakes and trails are well kept. Go and meet Mr waddles.- pictured below- and huge shout out and thank you to the wonderful Friends of the Park for feeding us the lucky News Years food! What a great surprise !! Yummy peas, collards, cornbread , first day hike. Truly a treat.

Nice little hike up to a cavern with a waterfall. The intensity of the waterfall varies greatly given the recent amount of rainfall. Nice fishing lake and clean restrooms.

Great place to visit! Lots of trails and fun things to do. Campsites were spacious and bathhouse was very clean! The staff and camp host were very friendly and helpful!
We rented the paddle boat and had lots of fun! Beware of the chain possibly coming off in the middle of the lake! Glad my hubby is agile and knows how to put a chain back on or else we would have been stranded. The Marble mine was a really cool place and the kids had lots of fun fishing in the lakes.

A nice quiet place to unwind. Seems like a lesser visited state park, may be different in the spring and summer. Nice for hiking, fishing and camping

Was on my way back home to Florida, got totally lost because I had no phone service and google maps wasn’t working, ended up at this park and I will say, it’s such a cute and very nice park, granted I didn’t get to explore all of it, it was a really good experience. Very clean, lots of trails, animals, very pretty flowers. It’s a really peaceful spot. Granted I was only there for a short period of time, I really enjoyed it. Just breathtaking honestly. Totally worth the visit.

This a great place to take the family. Parking is 5$for the day no matter where you park. There is a drop box by the main office and you can use cash or the mobile site. There are plenty of fishing spots to choose from. Children's playground and a bridge going across the lake. Would recommend!

Diamond in the rough and a great stay if camping. Everything was well taken care of and it was beautiful. We will be back at some point.

Best place to hang out if you like fishing or have pets to play with. Definitely visit the mining waterfall cave!

Update: November 25th 2023, The park is getting in the Christmas spirit.

Had a great day, took the mineral mine trail. A beautiful place. Plenty of places to picnic, and restrooms. Hope Cates the assistant park manager is awsome. She answered all my questions and invited me to join a group that meets up at the park.

We came to stay here in the cabins for 3 nights. The cabin was adorable and we were so happy with it. There was no WiFi anywhere in the park, which is fine cause I want to unplug on vacation, but I did need it a few times to do some things. The staff were SO friendly and David, the manager was wonderful! He stopped by our cabin and talked with us and thanked us for coming and said he was so glad we were there. He was the kindest man and you could tell he loved the place. The lake was wonderful and we saw all kinds of wildlife in the park. We went canoeing, fed the ducks, played on the playground, hiked, and grilled out. The Marble Mine trail was just phenomenal. The hike wasn’t bad at all and the mine was so worth it. We hiked it twice during our stay. We were a little bummed that there was no swimming area, but overall, we enjoyed our stay and loved the park so much. I will definitely be adding it to my list of favorite GA parks.

Nice state park with a grotto at the end of one of the trails. Kids loved collecting flint & looking for Indian artifacts.

Great place for fishing, picnicking, and a ride on their paddle poontoon or kayak. Good trails for a hike if you fancy even. They have rv/primitive camping as well. Very quiet and most the time peaceful park to enjoy the day.

My husband and I really enjoyed it… We walked around the park and came across a little story on our walk… FYI make sure you start at beginning of walk we didn’t and read the little story from end to begin… lol other than that nothing better than a nice little hike and enjoy the nature

Another beautiful state park! There were tons of beautiful sites that were easily accessible to novice hikers or just onlookers. The hike in the see the small “waterfall” wasn’t terrible, just mild incline at times.

However, you do have the option to
climb to the very top of the mountain. It’s a good hike with steep incline up, and even steeper incline coming down. There’s also not much of a view at the top, at least not in the summer with full vegetation, so i don’t really recommend it unless you truly enjoy the elevation feat. But even if you just wanted to challenge yourself, it’s a good, doable hike for beginner.

This place is incredible. The staff is so friendly and helpful. HOPE and Emily especially went out of their way. Hope stayed in contact while we were there and helped us find a cancelation letting us stay an extra week!!! We drove cross country and this is by far the nicest camp ground we stayed at. Great showers and restrooms close to all the camping spots. On site "Host" for questions and fire wood. Pet friendly. Absolutely can not say enough good things about the staff and site.. Looking forward to multiple yearly visits now bringing the baby here to visit family in the area.

Plenty of privacy if you look, but not completely private. They DO have family shower/bathrooms that are roomy and private. The park is clean, and has trails to include a pond, covered areas and such. It's a beautiful park. We'd visit again.

Beautiful Mine to check out. The Marble Mine Trail will take you about an hour or so to complete depending on your pace. Seeing the Marble Mine is cool and if you're up for some more adventure, climb over the railing and snap a picture inside the mouth of the mine. Definitely a cool place to check out!

One of our favorite State Parks. Plenty of space between sites, great hiking, fishing, and non-motorized boating on the lake. Feeding the friendly ducks was tons of fun!
