With only one night in Jacksonville, I chose Bellwether based on all the amazing reviews. It also happened to be Jacksonville’s vegan chef challenge month. The food and service were fantastic. I absolutely recommend the Korean fried barbecue and house made green curry. Highly recommended

I experienced superb service and great food at this smart downtown Jax restaurant. I arrived just after their 4pm opening. They were offering their happy hour menu which is more limited than their full menu, but has plenty of options. I enjoyed an ''Immunity Idol" cocktail during the brief wait for my food. My server was attentive and very knowledeable about the menu items. I had a burger and fries - it was a comfort food kind of afternoon for me - and will go back soon to try other menu items soon.

Would give more stars if I could! I heard they had great poutine here. Great is an understatement. It's the best poutine I've ever had (by far) and next month I'll be in Canada and can compare. The poutine ifself makes a meal - huge portion and came with a large side of oxtail gravy. The hostess/server was super friendly and helpful. (I think she said her name is Elle.) She helped me pick out a dessert - chose the carrot cake bread pudding. I'm not huge on sweets and this was PERFECT. Not overly sugary, just a perfected blend of flavors and textures I can't really describe. Came with a side of cheesecake flavored ice cream. I didn't go straight home so it was super melted by the time I got to it, but it was perfect poured over the bread pudding. Didn't wait long and parking was easy enough. 15/10 all around.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Went on a quick weekend trip to Jacksonville and only had time for one dinner out, and so glad we chose this one. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is also great!

This was a surprisingly excellent choice for downtown Jacksonville, and it may seem a little strange, but I like to judge to some degree restaurants by how clean their bathrooms are! Don’t take this the wrong way it’s just a way to judge how the business wishes present itself. They were so clean. I thought this was a new restaurant and I found out at six years old. So good on them. More importantly, I suppose the lunch was excellent as advertised and a good value the staff was excellent. They have my recommendation.

Absolutely everything about our meal tonight was spot on. I had the burger, meat was fresh tasting as were all the veggies. Fries were unbelievably light tasting, difficult to explain. My wife had the beet burger which she thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend eating here.

Mary was amazing from the time I stepped in until I left. She paid attention to all the details and made she I was taken care of with a smile the entire time. Not only that but the food was GREAT! I had the vegan curry and it was delicious and well put together on the plate as well. I'd recommend you check it out for yourself if you are in the area. Oh the atmosphere is so calming and relaxed.

Me and my girlfriend stopped by on 10/02/2020 around 8:20p.m. The host was kind when we 1st arrived and not long after we arrived two waitresses greeted us. Both were exceptionally professional and executed our order correctly. It didn't take long for our order to come out, our food was hot, delicious beyond our expectations, and the food wasn't overpriced. We ordered the Fried Korean Broccoli, Beet Burger, House Soup, and boiled peanuts with a glass of wine. We will be returning.

Great downtown restaurant in Jacksonville. Has a nice variety of starters. Smaller dishes and main dishes. It's not one of those places you're going to walk into and have a five page menu. They do a few things and they do them very well. I will admit their poutine wasn't quite Canadian but it was super yummy. The gravy really hit the spot and their french fries are perfect. Great place for lunch if you work downtown or dinner and drinks after work!

We were in Jacksonville for a show at the arena and this seemed to be the best restaurant that was close enough to be convenient and it ended up being a great choice! With a clean and modern looking interior, Bellwether serves up southern inspired American cuisine that is tasty with great service. The pimento cheese plate was insanely good with addictive crackers, the chicken and the chicken salad were also both great as well for our mains. Service was as close to perfect as you can get! Really almost no negatives to our experience and we would go back in a heartbeat if we found ourselves in Jacksonville again!

I love how close this location is to my office. It's within walking distance from the Novel building. I have held private events. I loved the 3 course meal that was served as well as the service! It was easy to make reservations for the mastermind group I have put together and selecting the menu. This is hidden gem for those who do not go down town often. It's also usually very busy/packed during lunch.

Loved this place! Came for a happy hour Friday and had a great visit.
Great staff and good food. I wish there was more healthy choice of food for the apps at the happy hour with my IPA’s. 😅Ill have to make this place my regular hangout since I live so close by. Thanks guys!

I cannot tell you what an exceptional dining experience we had. The food was fabulous, the service was prompt and friendly and the vibe was great. It was our first time here but it won't be our last.

Really good food here. Pleasant service and the food and desserts were top notch. Would recommend for a date night or friends get together.

We had a lovely meal here the other evening. We had the fried broccoli and the rolls with honey butter as our appetizers. I had the short rib with grits, which was fabulous. It’s a wonderful place and a wonderful atmosphere, and I would highly recommend trying it!

We heard about this city revamp program. This is great. Amazing and great service. The place is clean, modern and quite smart actually. I would happily bring clients here any day. Not too noisy so we could have our business meeting.

Great place, very modern interior. Sparkling clean. Good food. New Big menu. Amazing service. Great bar place. Parking is outside not free, street parking requires coin or card. Look for the sheep logo.

Great atmosphere here and the food is definitely a winner. Love that it’s all or mostly locally sourced. Went with coworkers we all got something different and it was all good! Their some sandwiches come on typical white bread toasted so that could leave you wanting a little more, but it’s what’s inside that matters! Got the “turkey” sandwich but substituted grilled chicken and it came out awesome, the chipotle mayo is so good and had the sweet potato hash as a side and it was great! Flavors here are geared towards the foodies that appreciate a little something different, but they’re still mild enough for the picky eater. Also loved that they have flavored iced teas!

Went last Friday night, the restaurant was not busy at all. We sat in the bar area, which we usually do. We had a female server, whom we had not had her before, and we eat at Belllweather at least once a month. The server had zero personality, not that I expect her to have a full conversation, but my partner and I both agreed that she was not personable, to the point of being cold. A server can truly make or break a dining experience, as was the case on our Friday night out. I have never left any negative feedback regarding dining at Bellweather because it's always been very enjoyable, but here we are.

Bellwether and Black Sheep are our two favorite restaurants in Jacksonville right now. I had the best steak I've ever eaten at a restaurant at Bellwether the other day and the gnocchi as an appetizer was fantastic! The Thai tea panna cotta was beautiful and very yummy. They also have a unique and fun drink menu and the staff was knowledgeable, fun, and so nice. I can't wait to go back!
