Mag's Cafe

Wonderful Cafe in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. Service was friendly and accommodating and they were knowledgeable about the menu and the area of town we were in. We actually ate breakfast there first and came back the next day for lunch. For breakfast I had the build a bowl, my wife had an omelet, and my daughter ate a biscuit sandwich. All were delicious, so much so wet came back the next afternoon for lunch. Again not disappointed, I had the roast beef sandwich and it was too die for. Local cuisine with a smile 😊.

Great place to eat. Food was amazing. I'm definitely coming back. Owner is really nice. I felt immediately as I walked in. This place has the heart beat of Jacksonville flowing thru it also.

This little place across the street from James Weldon Johnson park was a godsend on a recent afternoon when the food trucks failed to show up during the weekly concerts in the park event. Had a reasonably priced grilled cheese sandwich and service was friendly. Adequate cafe tables inside and out. Parking is metered on the street on weekdays and I think they close mid afternoon. Lots to do in this block so it's worth a visit. The live music, MOCA, Chamblins Book Mine. The park is being upgraded as of July 2023, so will revisit the area when that is completed.

This is really good place to eat. People are amazing here. They greet you really well. I love there sausage biscuits as well as bagels in the morning. They really have good sandwiches too. There are so many good options.

This cafe’s food was amazing! Me and my girlfriend came in after breakfast hours and they still offered to serve us breakfast! Very kind and polite people who work here. Overall, one of the best cafe’s my girlfriend and I have been to!

Nice place to eat some light food. My mom can not have any solid so I ask for the onion soup to be more liquid and they were happy to accommodate us. They treat us super nice , it was our first time here. They were patience with us answering all questions And ask us if everything was to our expectations. Thanks

Great little lunch spot in the location that used to house the Magnificat Cafe. Interior has not changed much as far as decor. The menu is similar to that of Magnificat as well. I had the daily special quiche and it came out warm, with a nice, flaky crust. Very tasty. Highly recommend :)

This is the absolute best place to eat downtown. The food is awesome, the service is AMAZING! The best part of my day is coming to see the team at Mag's! They are so sweet and kind and their food is never a disappointment!

Had lunch here today with my buddy. Outdoor seating is comfortable and lots of people to watch! We both had corned beef on rye and it was excellent! Highly recommend Mags! Also, city employees discount! Update: my friend got turkey cranberry wrap. Or supposedly. There was no cheese. When he took it back they gave him a small thing of “cranberry dressing”? Mostly mayo. He was upset and not coming back. My Italian sub was marginal at best too. If you eat here order French fries! It’s strictly a pass for lunch here now. 😔

We thoroughly enjoyed Mags cafe! Inventive selection of quiches! Fun menu! Parking was unexpectedly easy. We don't make it downtown often & were delighted to find such a charming cafe. Bobby, the owner careful with detail & made us feel so welcomed!

Kindest, sweetest, most attentive owner and employees. Every time i have stopped by i have been treated so well, the food doesn't take long, simple homemade style food at really cheap prices. Perfect little spot right in downtown that should get everyones business if you live around here or work here. They even offer to warm up your muffins, what saints! <3

All those one star reviews are from people who watched a video of "first amendment auditor" who stood in front of the restaurant and said "God bless the homeless vets" to passersby. The restaurant owner/manager didn't think the auditor could do that since he had outdoor dining. He has since apologized and admitted he was wrong. According to the legitimate reviews, the food and service is excellent. Read those reviews not the ones from people who have never even been there!

We have been on a long road trip getting bad roadside food. We found Mags Cafe on google and are so glad we pulled off of 95 to eat. The service was outstanding, they had a nice covered patio to sit on, and we had a nice chat with both the owner and his daughter in law who stayed late to make sure we had time to eat. The sandwich choices were great. Definitely worth stopping by!

Love coming here! Food is fresh and delicious. I especially love their fries—probably my favorite in the immediate area. Iced coffee is always very tasty! Reasonable prices. Staff is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!!

Mag's is always a solid choice. Food is hot and consistent. Fries are excellent. Varying specials to keep things interesting. Chicken provolone is one of my go-to lunches.

I took my staff here multiple times due to the service and owners hospitality. The wraps are extremely fresh and the fries are addicting. Definitely recommend this place if you work downtown or visiting from out of town.

This business and the family who run it are wonderful assets to our community in Jacksonville. They are incredibly kind, and I have enjoyed Mags Cafe several times during my trips downtown for Art Walk, errands, or just a break between classes. I recommend their soups! 💛

Wonderful feel-good cafe!!! Love the family feel at Mags Cafe. Everyone is always pleasant and happy to see us. Not to mention the food doesn’t disappoint. As a Jacksonville native, it’s nice to see places like this in downtown.

Always a pleasurable experience. Super friendly staff and delicious food. They are a downtown gem and so convenient for work lunches, whether dining in or taking back to the office. Wonderful folks. Definitely try them out if you have not.

Was absolutely fabulous and awesome it just tastes so good
