Sweet Mama's Southern Homestyle Cookin

Went on a busy Sunday at 4pm, had to wait a little bit for our order, but to be expected when they closed at 6pm. Worth the wait, my soul food was excellent and tasty. I also had to get the red velvet cake to top it off.

Came here after a sporting event, and the food and service was so amazing. Everyone is so awesome and nice! They give you good amounts of food and it all tastes so delicious! Definitely will be coming back!!

Only one word could describe this restaurant and that word is "amazing". Great food great staff and honestly those greens are to die for. I will so add this to my favorite restaurants in Jacksonville. Please go and support this small place it's worth it.

I don't have pictures of the star of the show because I gobbled it up before I thought to take pictures. Just GET the red velvet cake. I usually don't eat the icing on any cake because it's too much sugar. That's NOT the case with this one. I felt like I was enjoying a cake that my Grandma herself had prepared. The shrimp reminded me of what we used to have in Chicago. Thanks for the trip down food memory lane. I'm trying to convince my husband that we should go back again soon. My husband liked that they used different vatter for the fish and shrimp. It's so good to have southern soul cuisine close by FINALLY.

The service and atmosphere was great even though the establishment was extremely busy the staff was still jovial which means a lot with food preparation. The portions were nice, the flavor was good and we’ll most definitely come back….and they weren’t stingy with the hot sauce….I read that in several reviews 😂😂😂😂

The Food was good, and the customer service was excellent. Mark was very kind and friendly, and didn't mind conversing with us, we was visiting from North Florida. There was a bit of a wait time, due to some staff not being there at the time, but it was worth it. They cook to order most things. The Yams were ok, they didn't taste like real yams, it was worth the try though. The ribs was slapping. Very tender and Juicy.

This place is great. Great is not even good enough to describe it. It's fantastic. A large group of us stopped by for lunch and the service and food are exceptional. The collards and limas are the best I've ever had. Everything was so good its ridiculous. The restaurant is cute and clean and the staff are amazing. As someone who loves sweet tea I can honestly say it was some of the best tea I've ever had. They got us fed and full pretty quickly. I wish i would have taken pictures but the food looked so good we dove right in. Definitely glad we stopped by and will be back when we are in the area. Huge props to every person working in there because they hold it down for sure!

I tried Sweet Mamas today for the first time and OMG! Hands down the best soul food I think I’ve ever had, period. I got the oxtail plate w/Mac and cheese and cabbage. Everything is seasoned to perfection, and the macaroni is that good old school baked mac! They also are not stingy with the portioning either. I wish I lived in Jacksonville, I’d eat here all the time!

The food was delicious and reminds me of my grandmother cooking. Southern soul food. It was a long wait time but well worth it. Will go again just at a different time.

We had a catered meal from Sweet Mama's for a work event and it exceeded our expectations. The price was reasonable, the location was near the office, and the food was absolutely delicious (the Mac and cheese was off the chain)! Fresh and abundant. Everyone was asking who catered the food because it was so good. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend Sweet Mama's for catering any event!

My go to soul food place in Arlington!!! I absolutely love that they are open on Mondays, that was actually how I came across them. A friend suggested them and I have been going ever sense. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, which compliments the amazing food. The prices are right and their is def SOUL in this Food!!

Absolutely loved it. I had the oxtail dinner. My wife had the meatloaf dinner. Man let me tell something. You talking about good. I ate slowly trying to Saveur the moment but it didn't work out..I will definitely come back on my way home ..

This place was off the chain! Mac n cheese is obviously house made, it has those beautiful brown spots on top with a slight crispiness and the cheese, oh the cheese...the perfect stringiness. The meatloaf was delicious, made from good quality beef, no gristle. Collards were outstanding!
The service was also on point! Everyone was helpful and friendly even though they were very busy!
Will definitely go back!

I loved my experience here. The food was seasoned perfectly. I had the smothered turkey wing(yes 1 wing) I thought it would be 2 wings. It's served over rice -I got the yellow rice and my 2 sides were macaroni and cheese🧀 yams 🍠 the yams could have been a little better I won't order them again. Mac and cheese 🧀 was delicious. I'm hoping to return and try more menu items 😋

This is the best soul food in jax! I am pregnant and absolutely obsessed with these oxtails. There’s always a bit of a wait so I always call ahead but when I’m telling you that I’d wait HOURS for this food. And it’s family run with so many kind faces ❤

Walking in, the nice lady at the front warmly greets you. You can smell the home cooking as it’s an open kitchen. People cooking your food are happy and you truly taste the happiness in the food!! The aroma is just wonderful and mesmerizing.

Soul food is amazing! The oxtail is tender and meat fall from the bones when you devour the oxtails. It was seasoned very well and you can smell the aroma. I also love the rice trenched in sauces and collagen juice

Fried chicken wings were equally good and I have had my fair shaker of fried chickens. The coating resemble Jollibee’s but not as salty. The coating is thin and crispy. The meat is tender.

I hope the best for this restaurant and hope to visit again when I fly to Florida :)

The food at Sweet Mama's is delicious!! We had shrimp n grits, meatloaf, shrimp, mashed potatoes etc... everything was great!! If you don't want to wait, call your order in because service is slow! I was disappointed that they ran out of greens & cornbread at like 5pm... why? Yes, I will definitely go back, yummy!!

Most of the food was great and some was just good. A little flavor was missing with the use of smoked turkey instead of a fattier meat, the green beans are an example of this. It's a good idea to call ahead since you have to order at the counter anyway. The fried shrimp were the best I had had in a long time. We would go back out order for pickup on the way home.

Ordered takeout last night of fried fish, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes gravy, collard greens, fried gizzards, with cornbread. We also got a slice of butter pecan cake. Everything was absolutely delicious. Sweet Mama's is the place to go to get a filling well-rounded meal.

Food is fresh and hot!! Chef and staff cook food to order. Clean and sanitized as they cooked. Greeting and Acknowledged Guest with smiles and answered questions we had. We’re kind of particular eaters!! Hubby is an chef!! Left full and a little sleepy!! This made our Sunday Special!! Thank you!!
