Riverwood Suites

Exceeded expectations! Boy was I pleasantly surprised by the character, cleanliness and quality this "hotel" that feels more like an Inn or Bed and Breakfast. The location is another plus. I previously stayed at the Best Western in Apalach, and it was nice (for a Best Western). But for the price, the Riverwood Suites is HANDS DOWN the best place to stay while visiting this quaint seaside town.

Lovely place. Stayed in the Moonlight Suite. Perfect for the two of us. Very spacious with a kitchenette area with full size fridge, microwave and Keurig Coffee maker. Nice furnishings and a California King bed. Great sheets and pillows. Fold out Love seat... Didn't use that feature. Nicely sized TV. Sat out on the huge porch had a drink in the rocking chairs and listened to live music from the High Five Dive Bar. Music was not an issue in the room. Had a very nice time. Restaurants and shops and Oyster Bay Brewery all within walking distance.

This rustic charming hotel is everything you expect with five star rating. It is comfortable and clean. You feel like you're there alone. The porch is very comfortable, cozy, and spacious. You can hear live music from the porch at night, but not in your room. The downstairs garden/pond/seating area is so cozy and beautiful. We will be coming back again!

This is one of the nicest places I have stayed. It's so clean and quiet. The rooms are furnished beautifully to retain the charm and character of a classic inn with all of the modern upgrades to the bathroom one needs to feel comfortable. Each room is uniquely decorated with elegant yet comfortable furniture. These suites are situated downtown within easy walking distance of boutique shopping, art galleries, and a variety of local restaurants with fresh and delicious fare, especially seafood. The locals are very friendly and proud of this town's rich history, including harvesting oysters and sponges. Within a block of the hotel are residential streets lined with gorgeous classic Victorians, Greek revival, and some Florida cracker-style cottages. The gulf is a quick and lovely drive across the bridge. The beach has enough of a surf for some action for the kids, but it is safe and clean. The town and beach are pet friendly.

We have stayed here for three years in a row, and we are always happy with the cleanliness of the suites. They are decorated very nicely, and the place is consistently hospitable. The location is near anywhere you want to go in Apalachicola, within walking distance to several bars and restaurants. Parking is easy, and finding your way around town is a cinch. The showers are large, as are the refrigerators. The kitchen sink is tiny and all of the suites, but that's my only complaint, and it's really not a big deal.

Stayed in the "Coral" suite, first floor and we loved lt! Location is walkable to all of downtown. Room looks out upon fenced courtyard and Koi pond. Decorators must have had a blast, that is, it's fun, comfy and lacking no amenities. See my photos - decor is really cool. Fridge with ice maker, Keurig and supplies, sink and microwave. Only improvement I might suggest is that there should be more available light over the kitchen area. Would definitely stay again.

What a charming alternative to the bigger chain hotels in Apalachicola and closer to downtown shops and restaurants. Super clean. Soft and comfortable bedding. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Will stay again.

An exquisite stay. Our first "roomy" room on our trip, beautifully decorated. Perfect for a longer stay. Hosts were attentive and responsive. Great alternative to cookie-cutter hotel/motel rooms.

Amazing and perfect. Was clean, quiet, and well designed. The sheets were like silk and felt like home . The keurig coffee maker and 50 in TV was an added bonus. We could not have stayed in a better place and it exceeded our expectations. We will be back for sure. The seafood restaurant had mouth watering delicious food also. Thanks for making us so comfortable during our long, emotional journey. It was perfect.

Awesome place to stay if you're in the area of St George Island. Monica is great-- the rooms are spacious, well decorated and clean. I would definitely go back here and think it's a nice, relaxing home away from home.

I want to live here! My husband put it best, "I love every detail of this place." The furnishings are exquisite, the attention to detail is unrivaled, and the entire package: location, creature comforts, and aesthetics make this one of our all time favorite places to stay. We will be back.

Don't want to give 5 stars because everyone else will want to stay there, but I will. Beautiful rooms, clean, quiet, just off the beaten path but close enough to walk everywhere day or night, no worries. Nice porch on second floor to enjoy those cool evenings and a private patio out back to sit and relax. Thank you Riverwood suites for another relaxing weekend getaway.

Highly recommend. Adorable, upscale boutique hotel at a decent price. Stayed in the Moonlight suite which was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The varanda is the perfect place to sit and watch the day go by. Great location only a block from the river and shopping..

Definitely one of our "go to" places when in Apalach. Rooms are unique, always clean and comfortable, and you get to stay in an old cotton warehouse. Nice piece of history repurposed for guests. Very, very helpful staff.

This was our 3rd time staying we chose the new coral suite and it was just as amazing as the other rooms. It’s such a wonderful place to come and relax and take in the great local food and wonderful live music. This has become one of my favorite places to stay and I can’t wait to come back again. Beautifully renovated and decorated suites in the middle of downtown Apalachicola. Each of the 4 suites are unique and luxurious! Great attention to detail. Monica was very helpful. The garden area is peaceful and relaxing.

Perfect location to stay in Apalachicola. The rooms are nicely designed and fresh. We stayed in July when the heat outside reached close to 100 and our room was always cool and quiet. If you want to get away from the stress of life and relax, Apalach (what locals call it) is the place to unwind. The shops are full of local and/or responsibly sourced items, antiques, collectibles, and some commercial products. Highly recommend Riverwood and Apalach.

Two words. Stay here. This is a cozy place right in the downtown area close to all the restaurants and bars. The room I had was wonderful with what looked like hammered brass sinks, a comfy bed, veranda and custom solid wood bathroom counter.

If I am in the area again, it will be the first place I call.

A spotlessly clean room, nice amenities, and the location makes this the best place to stay in Apalachicola. I would highly recommend booking a room here if you are staying overnight on the Forgotten Coast.

Room was super nice. Huge bed, modern bathroom, big tv with plenty of channels, self check in was great. Absolutely no complaints about anything.
