Sorry this is long, I don’t very often write reviews but felt the need to share my story. Had been looking for a pop up camper & came across one listed from here on FB. I reached out within an hour of it being posted & was lucky enough to have been the first person. I made arrangements to be there the next day when they open (12pm). As soon as I got there I saw someone getting out of their suv to look at it. Also I noticed that morning the view count on the FB ad had almost doubled over night so I knew I was probably not the only one who had inquired about the camper. I had been looking quite a bit for one & found the ones in great condition & less than $2K didn’t last long. Hence why I was willing to put a refundable deposit down prior to driving all the way out there from Richmond. Well there’s more behind that reasoning but I’ll get to that in a bit! She said I should be good if I was there right when they opened but would contact me if someone else was interested in purchasing so that I could put a deposit on my cc. I met with Jennifer who showed me around the camper. I joked with her about how nervous I got seeing that other person looking at it & she mentioned that a lot of folks had inquired since I first reached out. One man even got angry that she was not willing to let him possibly purchase it before me because he was closer & he said he could get there sooner. She let him know that I was the first person to inquire about it & was driving all the way from Richmond so she wanted to give me that opportunity.
I didn’t mention it to her at the time but a couple years ago I had a bad experience where another a dealership sold a van minutes before I got there when I had made an appointment (“first appointment of the day!” the guy said) to basically come purchase it. No I didn’t put a deposit down so lesson learned there! Nonetheless I was still nervous this may happen again even though she told me she would contact me.
There’s a lot to be said about honesty, especially when it comes to a dealership & or salesperson. The whole experience gave me a good feeling & I am truly grateful to them for sticking with me until I had my chance to come look at it.
Today, was a great day :)
