Royal Mountain Ski Area

First try here was the past weekend! Between the great staff, modern snow making, terrain for all levels, it was a great experience. Perfect for a powder day without the lines! Will definitely be back!

This was my first time here. I brought the Niskayuna Ski Team up for a Slalom competetion. (yes, I drive school buses) This is a little hidden gem. You've heard about Gore, West and Willard locally, well now you (Upstate New Yorkers) got another one to go to.

There is plenty of parking, I can atest to it because there were 14 schools, free skiers and snowmobilers (came in late afternoon when the event was done) There is a upper lot and a lower lot.

There are two lodges ..the Base lodge and the T-Bar. (I was only in the Base Lodge.) The Base Lodge has plenty of seating, especially if it was a normal day of free skiers. It has a bar area for the adults. Not sure what they had there as far as drinks so that will be a wait and see if you go. The snack bar is awesome, especially their WAFFLES ! The air smells like fresh baked waffles the entire time...The staff were remarkable! Friendly, courteous and full of smiles...especially with the amount kids that were there!

The mountain itself has several differnet ski runs (see picture). By what I saw they were very well maintained and groomed. I couldnt tell much more than that because I couldnt ski due to being on the job. The ski pass was pretty reasonable ALL DAY pass $50. Pretty good for a Full day of skiing (9 to 5)

This place is as good as it gets, I’m new to snowboarding and everybody from the staff, ski patrol, and owner are all very welcoming and helpful! Lost my keys on the slopes and everybody worked towards finding em even including the owner after they closed, thankfully finding them! 10/10 would recommend!!

We couldn't find a better place to have fun. It's hot inside and the coffee is fresh. Just come and hang out buddy😍👍

Went to watch my nephew race motocross on wed evening and had a Great time!!
Only take cash for the races so be prepared.
Had a great time and met lots of people!

Great little mountain that is especially great for kids who are just learning and trying to get comfortable skiing. There were 3 running lifts (2 that go to the top and one on the bunny hill) the prices are great to bring a family who is learning as well. We didn't do lessons but saw lots of lessons going on for kids and adults. I can't speak of the harder trails as we only went on the easy ones but there were a bunch to choose from.

My family had a great time skiing at Royal mountain. Staff was friendly. Food was good and well priced.

I grew up coming here and it gets better with age with a little bit of difference why. It's just an over good crew and weather it's summer or winter it's a good time either way. (I would prefer to their website for event notifications.

We went during winter break and although it was busy it wasn't crowded. Lines were moving nicely and the slopes were in terrific shape. Between the snow making and the two Pisten Bully groomers the terrain was ready for skiing. Staff was courteous, attentive and friendly. We had a blast.

Very friendly to beginner! The slop ticket is not expensive and includes a small chair lift ! Hope they can open weekdays
as well

Don't let the short vertical fool you. This mom n pop place skis like a big mountain. Glades, moguals, steeps, jumps..but with a reasonably priced lift ticket. Low fixed grip lifts stay open when wind closes the big corporate places plus.. no lines, so you actually get more skiing in.

Great mountain close to home! Staff if super friendly & facilities are nice.

Inexpensive compared to some mountains nearby and everything I saw was top notch 🤙

I love this ski area. The instructors are amazing. I couldn't be happier with the experience. The did such a wonderful job getting my daughter started and interested in skiing that after 20 years i took a lesson and have had a better experience skiing then i ever have. Mike and Chrissy were our instructors and they were amazing. We go every weekend.

My nephew races dirtbikes here and they are very nice family oriented

Good snowboarding, the park is nice. Hopefully some fresh powder soon!

Nice small ski resort. With reasonable ski life price.

From the staff, to the facility to the activities... FANTASTIC experience all the way around!

My kids and I all took lessons during February break. It was not crowded at all and the instructors were all fantastic. The food was quick, yummy and not too expensive. Overall my kids had a much better time here than at Gore.

I know during the summer for the motocross races the owner and his wife and children are very nice and the races are exciting to watch
