I Had an incredible 2 night stay recently. The Lodge is unbelievably well designed & decorated to fully immerse you in a log cabin charm/coziness. Each room offering a fireplace & pristine views of the lake. I also had some of the best guest services experiences of my life, the concierge/front desk are very well in tune and prepared to accommodate anything within reason. (They will provide a TV upon request) the bar/restaurant staff and ground staff are knowledgeable, quick and attentive. I think Lake Placid Lodge is among the very best hotels in the North Eastern U.S.

If I HAD to offer one suggestion it would be for ‘Artisans’ to consider incorporating larger portions one would expect in a wilderness retreat.

Hope to return soon!

We enjoyed three days at the lodge earlier this week. This is one place I was so comfortable being in, that I napped peacefully and rested well each night.
The loons on the lake and morning sunrises were glorious.
Our Placid suite was so incredibly comfortable and pleasing with two fireplaces!
The fridge was refreshed daily and it was wonderful to not have to buy and carry basic necessities back to the room.
Breakfast on our private porch consisted of hot tasty blueberry pancakes that were so good, I had them both days.
The tour around the lake in the lodges hackercraft was lovely and we kayaked one day too- both included as part of our stay.
The bathrobes were soft and just the right weight. I bought two!
We enjoyed playing pool in Maggie’s and wished the place would have stayed open a bit later- it was a warm inviting atmosphere.
Artisans was not a good as we’d hoped, but I’m sure most would find it enjoyable. We’re a restaurant family and live in the Hudson Valley near the culinary institute, so we might be tougher than most.
In short, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan to visit again and again.

We had our wedding at Lake Placid Lodge in September 2023 and it was the most amazing weekend, truly magical. The hotel, cabins, and property are stunningly designed and maintained. Everyone on the staff is kind and accommodating, and went out of their way to make us and our guests feel taken care of. Cory, Ashlyn, and Zach especially took care of us and were always checking in to make sure we were happy or seeing if we needed anything. Our guests were totally blown away and all talk about how much they miss it and planning on coming back to the Lodge in the future. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone, it’s such a special place, especially for a small wedding.

My only critique is with their security/privacy. Why entitled people from nearby clubs/airbnbs think that they can squat on private property is beyond me. The Lodge has been guests-only for years now, yet no amount of signage or verbal requests to leave the premises seems to make a difference. The Lodge is not blind to the problem, they may just need to hire some extra security. And if you do a full buyout for your wedding, be aware you may have weird strangers roaming around your events, eating your food, and even attempt to claim they're in the wedding! And they are not just oblivious, they are aggressive and confrontational.
Despite this one issue, I would do it all over again at the Lodge. There is no place like it! Can't wait to go back.

This place was 10/10. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at a lot of great places over the years and the LPL ranks way up the ladder. Everything was what one would hope for:, great food and bartending, and great service, but the property and rooms were what really stood out. At every turn, some room or feature of the property wowed us. We stayed in a lakefront “ suite” I’ll call it, which was beautifully-appointed with 2 fireplaces, a nice bottle of Pinot, and smores. The complimentary breakfasts were outstanding. I’ll remember this visit for a long time!

Unrivaled views...beautiful cozy cabins...wonderful service...food okay at Maggie's but very good at Artisans. Very pricey, but in the end, well worth it. I feel badly that not everyone can afford the treat that is The Lake Placid Lodge.

The Lake Placid Lodge is without a doubt my “happy place.” Situated on the shoreline of pristine Lake Placid, this luxury hotel delivers an authentic Adirondack great camp experience that is truly unforgettable.

The Lake Placid Lodge’s greatest asset is their team. Everyone that we had the pleasure of meeting was kind, courteous, professional, and went out of their way to ensure a wonderful visit. The team must be trained to anticipate guest’s needs, as that was a common theme throughout our stay.

The Lodge itself is unbelievable. Impressive craftsmanship is consistent throughout the property. Our room was outfitted with beautiful hand-made furniture, a massive wood-burning fireplace, a five-piece bathroom, and a private deck. Amenities are top-notch (L'Occitane bath products, Nespresso, etc.). Did I mention the goose down feather bed? Further, the common spaces (lobby, dining room, bar, etc.) are stunning. The lodge is home to a very impressive collection of art that is displayed prominently throughout the property.

On-site dining is five-star. The views are breathtaking. You’re only a short drive from shops, galleries, outdoor activities, and restaurants (though I recommend dining at the lodge). The hotel offers complementary chauffeur service to the village of Lake Placid which was extremely helpful.

I really can’t say enough good about the Lake Placid Lodge. It’s such a special property and a tremendous asset to the village of Lake Placid. I have two upcoming stays scheduled, and am counting down the days until check-in.

My wife and I honeymooned here in 1999 and we have come back several times since, most recently in Feb of 2023. It is special to us and nothing will change that I suspect. Our most recent stay was in the Mt. Marble cabin (we have always stayed in the cabins). The food was great, as was the service and the views and proximity to the lake, the Mount McKenzie Wilderness and the village of Lake Placid are all excellent. It truly is a wonderland here in the winter with snow on the ground.

Wow where do I begin? From the moment we got to Lake Placid Lodge we were greeted with the best care and hospitality I’ve ever experienced. We stayed in the pine room. The room was absolutely stunning…everything from the fireplace by the sitting area to the massive bath tub was wonderful. The complimentary wet bar, amenities in the room, and bottle of champagne chilled when we were brought to our room were little touches that took our experience from very nice to outstanding. I was a little worried about the dining experience based off the other reviews but we loved our duck at Artisans, and the burger at Maggie’s is not to be missed. The main sell for Lake Placid Lodge is how hospitable they are. When I forgot one of my jackets they immediately overnight shipped it for free. When we needed more coffee, wood or had any questions they were quick to send someone over. We were so impressed, we will absolutely be back again!

From the moment you walk through the charming red door, you are greeted by the welcoming scent of the hotel’s signature candle. You immediately want to curl up with a glass of wine, good book and relax in front of the roaring fire. My parents and I stayed at the lodge in March of 2022. We stayed in the Treetop and Whiteface Rooms. It was great to have the whole floor to ourselves. From the moment we arrived, the service at the hotel was top notch. Check in was a breeze and Michael at the front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. The welcome glass of champagne was a nice treat. Michael did a great job explaining the amenities of each room and helping us to get settled in. Michael kept in touch with us during our stay. He constantly made sure that we were enjoying the hotel and that there was nothing else that we needed. Our rooms were both beautiful and had so many unique features. We really enjoyed many of the custom furniture pieces. Both rooms were spotless and well maintained by housekeeping. We enjoyed eating in all of the restaurants and relaxing by the many outdoor fires. Our stay was exactly what we needed...a time of relaxation in luxurious and yet very cozy accommodations. Our next trip will be to visit in the summer time. We can’t wait!!!

This is by far one of the most special resorts you can go to. It feels so comfortable, it's so beautiful with views to back it up. The service is excellent. Can't wait to go back again!

The Lake Placid Lodge is a dream! Fantastic service and even better views. The personal car service, champagne upon arrival, beautiful cabin, and great food are not to be missed. A stunning and serene place to enjoy the Adirondacks for a few days.

A really wonderful place. The hotel seemed full but all the grounds and restaurants were extremely quiet. I actually felt a little self conscious with our 7 year old, who can't control the volume of his voice, but he had a blast. Food was very good, especially breakfast. Also, I couldn't confirm this anywhere online before our trip, but in case you are interested, there is definitely a small beach where you can swim. The water was "crisp" in mid-July. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a cabin, which was a true "glamping" experience. I had read that the furnishings were dated - it's a cabin made of wood with Adirondack style decoration. Maybe the shower could be updated with newer style tile, and if I am nitpicking, a double sink would be nice at this price point. Overall, a fantastic home base for an Adirondack vacation. Hopefully, we can return soon.

Gorgeous views. Incredibly peaceful. Very fast service for anything we needed in the room. Great food at Maggie's and great breakfast at Artisans (except the Eggs Benedict). The lodge was sold out but we felt like we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The boat attendants were incredibly helpful and patient with all our needs. We will def be back.

We had a relaxing and spectacular stay at the Lodge! We stayed in the Placid room with two fireplaces to keep cozy and enjoy s'mores while taking in the view. Special shout out to Devin and Kyle the groundkeepers who helped with bags, got us settled in, set us up with snowshoes/recommended trails, offered beverages, and went out of their way with other special touches to make for a memorable stay in Lake Placid. Thank you!

This place was beyond my expectations!! My husband planned a stay at Lake Placid lodge for our 1st anniversary. It was beyond perfection!! The views, the cabins, guest service everything was amazing. What a beautiful location. The resort is amazing. The cottages are warm and very inviting furnished with rustic decor that make you want to snuggle up with a warm hot chocolate and read the afternoon away. Love that there are no televisions in the cottages. The food in the restaurant's were very good and the buffet that was served for our function was completely amazing.

High end, historic lodge with premium accommodations and incredible views of Lake Placid. The rooms are lodge themed and are very clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, the food available here is top notch, and the ambiance is a rich mixture of elegant and timeless charm. The staff were all friendly, courteous, and helpful. I wish I was having a drink here staring at the calm waters of Lake Placid right now!
