We stopped here on the way back home. Everything was great, the girl behind the counter helped us with every need.
Outside there a nice beautiful spot that you can sit, have your coffee & cake and enjoy the weather!

I visited Waterstreet with my son to get coffee for my husband and I. We got the seasonal salted caramel latte and the sleeping bear mocha (with oat milk). Both were delicious!

Also, a side note, they do have baby changing tables available!

Absolutely perfect experience evertime. Waterstreet never fails the quality of service and food is superior as well as a continually bright and joyfully and relaxing environment. I'm always in love. going always makes the whole rest of my day as I'm sure it does for everyone who does

Coffee is my co-pilot.
No, really.
It is more than just a beverage used to prop up my heavy eyelids and scrape my parts into human form to survive the harsh headwinds of this predatory year.
Coffee is my deep delight.
Water Street is a standout. The large location in Portage at Centre and Shaver Road is the best of the three locations I have had a cuppa at two other locations. What sets this location apart is the lovely patio with lots of outdoor seting and the bright, large double level dining are. There is a ton of natural light an abundance of seating.
The coffee is so-so good. they offer many different beans for the daily drip coffee served-some of the varietals are very uncommon and rarely seen offered on coffehouse menus. The brew strength is exactly right-full, robust without any bitterness.
They offer a wide range of local/homemade pastries/sandwiches/cookies/small lunch bites and breakfast wraps/burritos. The ones I have tried are as very tasty.
They are a bit pricey compared to some of the other local coffee joints, but they are also far better than most, far at the top of my Kalamazoo caffeine list.
See you there in the morning, bright and early. I'm already dreaming of that steaming first cup o" the day.

As someone who has lived in San Franciso for two decades, I'll admit I'm pretty snobby when it comes to cafes. But with one exception I'll discuss in a moment, Water Street could hang with the best of them in SF. I don't drink coffee, but I love matcha and they make a great matcha latte (tip for Water Street: don't call not adding simple syrup "no flavor"! It's the opposite: matcha has a very distinct flavor that simple syrup completely ruins; just say "no sweetner") and have a great selection of teas. I don't drink coffee so can't comment on that, but my family who lives in Portage and does says it's one of the best in the greater Kal-Por area. I also love all the stuff they sell in their little shop: mugs, t-shirts, etc. I've bought a number of t-shirts and mugs from there over the years.

The one thing that always rubs me the wrong way with Water Street is that they have a drive-through. I know its suburbia here in Portage, It's so weird to be in a cafe that otherwise makes you feel like you are in NYC or SF but then the barista is talking on a headset to somebody to lazy to get off their butt and out of their car! I love that Water Street states it is a bicycle-friendly business, but having a drive-through is in every way contradictory to the vibes and messaging they otherwise are trying to create.

The spinach and feta turnover was delicious, especially the crust. The latte I had was one of the better ones I've ever had too.
Really loved the atmosphere and tri-level seating options.

I was just passing through town and wanted a coffee. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful! I got a latte with sugar free vanilla syrup and it was delicious. They offered a variety of sandwiches/wraps and muffins as well.

The space was also beautiful and had plenty of seating.

Fabulous coffee, DELICIOUS egg and cheese bagel and amazing customer service!! The egg was very well seasoned, the bagel had a very nice toast, and the cheese was perfectly melted. Tastes better than I could make at home and was a very good value for money

Awesome local business. You can smell the fresh roasted coffee even from the drive thru!! Inside the smell is even better. They even have craft beer and cold drinks in the cold case. I am always down with supporting locsl businesses. I love this one. I am addicted to their iced coffee on these hot, humid summer days. And wait for it.......COFFEE CUBES!!!!! No more watered down iced coffee!!! Mind=BLOWN!!!

Vegan black bean and sweet potato burrito was excellent. A little spiciness to it.
Also had a sweet & spicy chai latte with oat milk.

Good coffee, smoothies are okay. The seating and atmosphere is nice with outdoor seating as well. Service is good and the drive through is convenient when you need a quick grab. Food is actually decent as well.

This place is great! The coffee and food are good. They have plenty of room for seating and a clever floor plan that reduces noise. There are 3 seating areas: main floor, sub floor, and loft.

When I visited on a Saturday afternoon, there were about 20 people seated and talking or using laptop computers. I sat in the loft area to eat lunch and chat without shouting over kitchen noise and other conversations, and it worked!

This place is always great, really friendly staff and they have amazing pour overs. I stop here every time I’m in southern Michigan. The Affagatto and Dulce De Leche are my favorite drinks, but you really can’t go wrong here. They also have food and coffee brewing equipment for sale.

Local coffee shop that also serves some food and plenty of baked goods. I frequently come to this location and the service is consistently excellent. Whether dining in, taking to go, or going through the DT, the staff are always friendly and quick. Prices are fair compared to other coffee shops, and they have a loyalty program so every few trips you usually end up with some rewards. I've never had anything here I didn't enjoy, and every month they also support a locally charity, so that makes stopping here even better.
