DeSoto State Park Lodge

We loved our stay at the lodge! Our room was clean. It had a mini fridge , microwave and coffee maker. and the restaurant was great! Saw lots of waterfalls because it rained the whole time but it was awesome! I definitely would stay here again.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon walking the trails - enjoying an autumn art festival - great 🎼 and eats at food trucks. Viewed an interactive educational “show” in their theatre.
Everyone staffing and visiting were cordial and accommodating 🍁

Had a very nice room older but well kept. The office for check in was nice and easy check in. A few gifts in office to buy if interested at reasonable price. They have a pool but I did not see it, not extremely good cell reception unless outside, nice over night getaway

Really enjoyed the breakfast here. No powdered eggs, they have the real thing. Dinner, we had steak. It was very good, salad bar was awesome. Service was great. Price was fair.

Had a great time! We stayed in one of the parks motel rooms, hiked the trails and swam under the waterfall!! So beautiful!

Great staff. Our food was good and it was very close to where we were staying. It was a win win.

Wonderful Sunday brunch *buffet* at DeSoto State Park Lodge Restaurant! Great service and food. The old master stonework (including huge fireplace), lovely light, and big comfortable wood tables & chairs were just as I remembered from decades ago. Iconic Mentone. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful park with plenty of activity nearby, glad I came here and enjoyed my stay in Alabama! Would highly reccomend visiting Little Falls, which is a beautiful scenic drive with plenty of spots to stop and gaze at the wonder of nature. Very great place to stay, great scenery, and nice staff! Hope you enjoy your stay!

I had to stop by a few times, and every time the staff was so friendly, helpful, and patient. They're very accommodating per request, as well. The chalets exceeded my expectations. They were quiet and peaceful.

Delicious food, lovely serving staff and great prices. Our family of five had three meals here during our stay and were pleased with it all. Great feel to the historic CCC lodge.

We enjoyed a one night, peaceful retreat at the lodge with convenience to beautiful hikes! Our room was very clean and bed comfortable.

Great state park for exploring, camping, hiking and day tripping. Make a visit to nearby Mentone.

Catfish special on Friday night was #1. Food was tasty and very generous portions for a very reasonable price. Service was very good too! We were camped here and a nice meal out, within park was pleasant.
Enjoyed our stay.....be back soon!

Love this place. I have been going since I was little kid. I love the atmosphere of this place and the restaurant inside. I hope to return more often in the near future. Definitely worth the five star rating.

We ate supper here one night and breakfast the morning we left. With the exception of my friends steak not being cooked right, we enjoyed our food. We're planning to be back next year.

Awesome hidden gem! We only ate in the restaurant so I really can't speak to the cabins, but they looked nice and well kept when we drove by. The staff was great and the buffet had all my childhood favorites, loved the fried chicken, and the cherry cobbler was to die for! A return visit is a must!👍

The motel rooms were spacious, clean, and fantastic. But this review is about more than that! I accidentally left my keys in the room, and I received a call within 30-minutes of our checking out. I had a long drive that day so I asked if my keys could be mailed to me, rather than turning around to retrieve them. The lodge receptionist took my information, wrapped up my keys very nicely, and I received the package a few days later. I thought that their service was exceptional!

We just stopped and ate at their restaurant but it was great. They had a very nice buffet with Catfish both whole and filets with all the fixings well worth it. We are thinking about staying in one of the cabins or the lodge this spring and the prices are not too bad it is a beautiful place to just have a day trip as well.

Good food and good service. We had the appetizer sampler, the applewood salmon, and the farm raised catfish special. Highly recommend it. The batter on the catfish, mushrooms, and onion rings was very light and not greasy at all. Everything was clearly freshly prepared and worth the wait.
