R&D Campground

A true gem. An amazing find with an amazing rate in the perfect location. We found Rita and Dennis when we needed a place to stay to visit family across the state line in NC. We ended up arriving 5 hours after our initial arrival time due to RV issues on the road. Dennis was very nice and checked in to make sure we were all good. 10/10. Highly recommend this park.

We love R&D Campground and it’s proximity to Doe Mountain recreation area. It’s a fantastic place to camp whether you have an RV or tents and the owners, Dennis and Rita, are awesome people! This quickly became our new favorite campground! We love the fact that we can literally get on the mountain trails directly from the campground! Also, John who manages the campground is amazing, helpful and super-kind. Can’t say enough great things!

Absolute gem of a campground! Dennis, Rita and John are all amazing. We love R&D campground and also the super-convenient access to Doe Mountain for the four Wheeling!

If there were more stars I would be passing them out to R&D Campground. We travel for a living and have stayed in hundreds of campgrounds around America and this just be my favorite. It is small, which I love, the owners are extremely gifted at hospitality and have thought of every detail to make the stay comfortable. I felt downright spoiled by all the creature comforts provided in the pavilion. We had a mini family reunion and my family used the pavilion to visit and make dinner in. Everyone was so impressed. Very family and pet friendly. I cant wait to come back. Thank you for everything you do Dennis and Rita.

Hesitant to leave a review, don’t want it to get too busy…. But the owners deserve it. Great campground with great owners. Nice clean bathrooms and direct trail access.

Awesome trails. Beautiful scenario. Had a blast. Tour guard keep us safe and let us to a wonderful adventure.

Such a great family experience! The owners are so, so, so friendly! The exact kind of thing you're looking for when you go camping. The sites were clean and equipped with a nice fire pit. And the bathrooms!! Best bathrooms I've experienced camping hands-down. Heated, clean, and cozy. Not to mention the beautiful setting. We will definitely return to R&D.

Nice quiet campground. We were very happy with our stay here at R&D. Sites had power and water hookups and a dump station. They also have 2 bath houses and a community fire pit. We will be coming back here when we visit Doe Mtn.

We stayed at R&D Campground for the weekend and had a blast with friends. The staff were great, the gentlemen that lives and works at the campground saved us when the leveling system failed, as we are new to the RV life. Helped us get it lifted and loaded and wouldn’t take a penny for his help! We will definitely be going back!

R & D was a great place to stay. We stayed a month and a half, in winter. It was peaceful. We got to see the stars. It rained on us so often and we loved it. We got to see people riding their adventure vehicles (atv's hahaha) and it was just a cool peaceful place. 😎 We were able to walk on the trails.
The owners Dennis and Rita, and Mr. John the camphost are kind and friendly. They were all pleasant. We will miss them.
Just to let you know, there is a doggie that they use to keep out bears, and he is not a people dog nor friendly, but he mostly stays away from the rv parking. And there are other nice doggies around that are friendly.

We came because their located right on the trail at Doe Mountain and Rita (she and her husband Dennis own the place) was very nice and informative on the phone. Parking an RV was easy as all their RV sites are pull thru and have water and electric. The sites are very long and we didn’t even need to unhitch the truck with lots of room to spare. Once we got here. I can see why people
come back. Their very nice and laid back. The campground is very well maintained. We checked out the bathrooms and their super clean and nice. Campfire wood is available and they pickup the garbage every night. It’d be a great place to come stay a while. I’m certain we will be back. This place is a hidden gem and highly recommended.

This is such a fantastic place. I can't say enough good things about it. Friendly from the start, low key, great features at the campground (pavilion is awesome!), and overall a really cool campground. The owners were a delight, you have trail access right off the campground, and dog friendly! I never put stickers on my car, but the owner asked if I wanted one and I was happy to say yes! I got it on my car right now :-D. Thanks for having me - I will be back!

Clean bathrooms and just good people running the place.

Some of the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Access to Doe mountain trails. Peaceful and pleasant.

The owners are wonderful and a pleasure to work with. You get a long trail guided tour through terrain that is what you'd expect on an adventure like this. My family really enjoyed themselves. You get a really nice sized lunch to go with it while enjoying the grounds scenery.

We love this lil campground! Owners are very welcoming and friendly! Always clean and maintained! Great memories made here!

Love this place just down home people will come out and check on you we ride the trail's here and meet a lot of wonderful people
