Food, beer, and service was pretty good! The server was awesome in the sense that she told us the good spots to hit up in the area

We found this place a few blocks from our hotel when we were looking to have some drinks and watch the College World Series. We liked it so much we went back another night during our stay. The bartender, David, was great! One of the best bartenders we have ever had. Everyone there was friendly and we didn’t see anyone not receiving excellent service. The beer was great. The atmosphere is laid back. There was younger crowd there (we are over 40) but we didn’t feel out of place. I don’t think they offer food. We didn’t see anyone eating. If you need a go-to bar downtown, this is your place! It was one of our favorite places during our stay!

We were here this evening, only wanted to stop for drink. The lovely bartender convinced us to try their new menu.. simply fantastic to say the least. It was the perfect way to end our visit to Charleston. Our entire evening was made complete by Jess! We will definitely be stopping by on our next visit.. superb cocktails too..

Stumbled upon this place with my wife. We were going to walk to a place further up the street for happy hour, but we saw this place first and noticed that their happy hour lasted an hour later anyway, and decided to pop in.

I'm glad we caught it during COVID because the bartender made it sound like it is not normally my kind of bar at all (loud music, dancing, fog machines, and sticky floors), but for now it's just a chill, friendly little quiet bar.

Garrett, the bartender, is for sure the reason for the 5 star review. Nicest dude ever. Hopefully we see you in a year when we move here, or maybe we'll catch you on your trip to Vegas!

Friend and I only stopped by for a couple of drinks, but there was a lot going on. A couple of bachelorette parties, a couple birthday girls, a nice dj... the bar tenders were great and super creative. They were fun to watch make other people’s drinks. The vibe here was great for a night downtown!

Total diamond in the rough! The ladies behind the bar are awesome - super warm and welcoming! The actual bar itself is gorgeous and very reminiscent of the British pubs it's styled after. King Street is crowded with bars, and a lot of them try to hard to be "unique," but KSPH serves good drinks with a great attitude, which is what sets them apart for me. This will definitely be one of our regular stops downtown!!

*Note: the bartenders told us that weekend nights after 10 can get a little heavy on the club vibe and popular with the college crowd, so if that's not your vibe you may want to avoid it then!*

I definitely had a good time here, just one of the many bars me and my girlfriend hopped too. Very laid back relaxed atmosphere and the bartender made us the perfect cosmopolitan.

We had great service from our server Tony.

We ordered the appetizer: fire cracker shrimp, it is a must. The

rib eye steak was awesome, great value for steak entrée, also a good beer selection.

the manager and staff at King Street Public House were very friendly, atmosphere and service an A plus.

We come to Charleston every year, and we'll definitely be back, we loved it.

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Charleston, the bar has a fun atmosphere, good music, and wide drink selection. Spacious enough to dance and move around. The staff is incredible, I had lost my phone, debit card and DL ID all in one fun filled Saturday night. Fun until I misplaced my things. I eventually retrieved all of them with the help of the bartender. She was extremely kind and helpful and kept her eyes and ears open for the lost items. She alarmed me when my misplaced belongings came up. Definitely a place I wouldn’t pass to hit up with friends.

Stopped in King Street Public House after work for happy hour to meet a few friends. They had half priced appetizers, the BBQ pulled pork Nachos was really good and a couple good cocktails did the trick. Good casual spot.

I wish I could remember our waitress' name because she was great and so was the food. We had 3 different appetizers and we enjoyed every one of them. This was our first time there and we are definitely going back.

With so many restaurants in Charleston it can actually be difficult to find one that has a great atmosphere, an appealing menu, delicious food, friendly service, reasonable prices, live music, and a meaningful Happy Hour. King Street Public House does all of these well.

I must tell you that I am a Charleston local, well beyond the age of late night partying on Upper King. So I am reviewing this restaurant from the viewpoint of going to happy hour, eating a nice meal, listening to some quality music, and feeling like I had a good time at a realistic price. During Happy Hour this pleasant "tavern" will have no crowds, although I am told they are packed by the late night crowd a few hours later. But the atmosphere is warm and welcoming with lots of polished wood (floor, beautiful bar) and the acoustics are such that it is easy to talk yet never feels empty. The bar is a great place to eat and drink, there are lots of high top tables, but also comfy booths for those who prefer traditional seating. Specifically, you will want to know that the Happy Hour is from 4-7 and offers $3 off Well Drinks, $2 off wonderful appetizers, $1 off Draft beers, and has a good selection of Local Craft Beers.

Live entertainment is fun Wed.-Sat. during Happy Hour and there are DJs later in the eve. The menu is especially appealing. The Nacho appetizer is probably the best deal, and is really large for the price. I had the Grilled Chicken Asian Salad, which was amazing. It was prepared with crisp spinach, not cheap lettuce, and the grilled chicken was tender and flavorful. The Public House offers this in 2 sizes, and the smaller one was just fine for a lite dinner. If you feel hungry, go with the larger one. My husband had the Fire Cracker Shrimp which featured a half dozen or so large shrimp in a wonderful sweet/sour sauce. Very, very good. Check the menu on line and you will see it is a really great deal, even more so when you select an appetizer " $2 off " during Happy Hour.

All in all, I think you won't be disappointed. The menu offers things you really want to eat (ever been to one of those restaurants where there was nothing on the menu you understood or wanted to try?), yet it is not boring, and the food is very well prepared. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, upscale but not stuffy or cold (no cement floors), very clean, and the prices are in a range that I feel is under-represented in Charleston. Oh, one more thing...they have wine by the glass under $10!

Last but not least, the people at the Public House will make you feel welcome. If you want to sit at the bar and chat, the bartenders will be attentive and conversational. They won't spend their time way at the other end with their backs to you, drying wine glasses. If you want some solitude, they will respect that as well.

I'm definitely going back. Don't be afraid to give it a try.

Stopped in for happy hour and there was only 2 other customers in the bar. Super easy to keep socially distant. Really quiet and laid back (though it might not always be like that)

I'm a pilot staying over in Charleston for a night, stumbled across this place off upper King street. Had a delicious sandwich, the Cuban Pork Melt. Nice draft beer selection and fantastic service from Katie Lynn.

Had an amazing evening here. Walked in with 20 family members at 7:30 on a Friday and they were able to make it work with a limited staff -- more bartenders and waiters arrived as the late night crowd stumbled in. Great wings and chicken sandwiches.

I love this place! They have a good beer selection, good food and affordable prices. There's even bands playing sometimes. Check it out, you won't regret it!
