The Twisted Knitter

While in Burlington for other reasons we realized there was a LYS nearby. The Twisted Knitter did not disappoint! Both staff and customers greeted us in the store. A staff member was able to immediately offer solutions for my product need and the yarn selection was amazing! We were invited back for upcoming events and sales despite living a couple hours away. We might make the trip to visit this fun shop again!

A fun knit shop with a good variety of yarns and knit related services. The owner and all employees are friendly and knowledgeable about the stores name sake and are willing to help with any situation.

Absolutely the best yarn shop for finding great yarn for special projects. I always find what I am looking for & the prices are not bad. The yarn is of most excellent quality & comes in great colors. Lykke needles are sold here & they are GREAT needles to work with. Very smooth & yarn glides over them easily. If you need a pattern, there are plenty to be found. The ladies working there are so great & they are eager to help!! Can't wait to go back again!!

It is always a joy to stop in to the Twisted Knitter when we are in Mebane. Kimberly always greats us and is so engaged. She helps you find what you need for your project. My 10 year old son loves to crochet, and Kimberly always encourages and supports him. The shop has very high quality yarns from small producers. It is so with your time to stop in.

This is my FAVORITE yarn store! All the women there are super friendly and helpful ( Kimberly, especially, seems to know exactly what I'm in the mood for and points me in the right direction). The building is neatly organized, easy to shop and cozy. And the yarn selection is amazing!

I’ve been to several yarn stores across the country and luckily this is my local yarn store since it’s my favorite. Kim is always helpful and enthusiastic about your projects and super helpful with the math and gauge and yardage if you get stumped by that. She also is quite talented at remembering her customers names. 😉. The store is a comfy welcoming atmosphere for when you just want to sit and knit.

This is a sweet yarn shop! Lots of great yarns, many from local dyers! I also indulged in my first set of Lykke interchangeable needles here, and they are wonderful to use! Would definitely recommend checking this shop out if you’re in the area!

I love this store. The owner is very helpful without chasing you around and the yarn is fantastic. There is ample space to move around but at the same time it has a cozy feel. It's definitely worth the trip from Chapel Hill , Hillsborough or Durham. Mebane is a picturesque little town with great shops and restaurants and the Twisted Knitter is right in the middle of it. You can park once and walk to everything!

This was my first stop during the spring 2014 yarn crawl. Great yarn store! Comfy atmosphere good supply of different yarns and accessories. Definitely will stop back by on my trips up I-85

The Twisted Knitter is a great not-so-little store in Mebane. There is a wide varieties of yarn and the owner is helpful when you need advice. I'd highly recommend the drive from outside of Mebane to take a look around. It was a nice surprise!!! Love it!!!

Lovely shop with lots of beautiful yarn - including some really lovely hand-dyes (by the owner) which I can't wait to try. Relaxed atmosphere with space to sit and chat. Worth the drive.

The owner is very friendly. She stocks a nice variety of great quality yarns. She also has many notions and tools helpful for knitters.

Kim is very knowledgeable. She has a wide variety of yarns and multiple samples so you have an idea of what your project will look like knitted up.

Always great shopping here. Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent selection, and welcoming atmosphere. Dangerous for my wallet, though!
