The perfect place to meet friends for a few glasses of wine and some cheese AND the perfect place to pick up a bottle on your way to a party. Prices and selection might be the best in Wilmington. Definitely check out this place!

Wine Sampler is always a wonderful experience. They have something for everyone, even those who don't drink can feel comfortable and welcome. The owners are knowledgeable and kind. So do yourself a favor and stop in, you won't be disappointed.

The Wine Sampler is my primary retail source for wine. Jamie exemplifies everything I expect in a wine merchant. He listens to my request, suggests an appropriate wine then skillfully details the tasting notes, terroir and typically the vineyard reputation. All this knowledge is offered in a polite and friendly manner. Wilmington is fortunate to have Jamie as a wine professional. And that is why I keep going back.

The owner curates all the wines he sells and has impeccable taste. He’s introduced me to some of the greatest wines I’ve had. He’s passionate and honest. This is far and away the best wine shop in Wilmington.

Had a wonderful experience here tonight. I’m not a huge wine drinker, but the friendly staff made me feel welcome and also educated. The atmosphere was laid back but still classy. Cool wine tasting wall feature for folks wanting to try a little of everything. Very reasonably priced and highly recommended.

For thanksgiving dinner I purchased all the wine at the wine sampler. Everyone was very pleased with the selections that he helped me make. I'll be back for sipping, Testing, and purchasing. Thank you! They also have non -alcoholic if you've been looking for that too.

My husband took me here for my birthday today. I’m not usually a review person, but I HAD to write a review for this place. The guy who worked there, I assume the owner, is very kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely wants the best for his business! He explained different wines and champagnes to me and made an amazing recommendation. We will definitely be back here next time we are in Wilmington!!!

The BEST wine store in Wilmington. Amazing selection & service! Wine sampler has a fantastic selection at a wide variety of price points. The owners and team are incredibly knowledgeable and know every bottle in place. And, it has the wine station where you can sample wines before you buy. Great draft list as well. Great place to stop by for a glass, or to stock up on wines!

I’ve learned more about wine in 2 hours here than I did in 40 years of life. The staff is exceptional and knowledgeable — I just explained a bit about what I like/don’t like in wine and I found a red one that I absolutely love. I can’t give a higher recommendation than this — if you like wine, or want to like wine — you need to check this place out.

I'm questioning why it took so long for me to find this gem! What a wonderful place, great selection, nice atmosphere but what really blew me away was the passion and knowledge Jamie has. I went in looking for a particular Sauvignon Blanc, which they didn't have but Jamie wasted no time in calling his rep about having some ordered, then went right into to suggesting some other options. I thoroughly enjoyed the tastings and recommendations and can't wait to return for some of their weekly events.

This is my go to place for wine. The wine selection is very unique and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable! Even the big stores can’t compete with the Sampler’s quality, price, and selection. 20% off cases everyday is a huge bargain. I love going in to shop and, of course, taste selections before I buy.

This is the only store I will go to when it comes to buying wine. The gentleman there is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I found my absolute favorite red wine there. The broad selection is very impressive. I’ve never left disappointed and have always ended up with a good bottle.

This is the most genius wine destination 8 have ever been to! 1/3 wine store (amazing selection), 1/3 tasting bar ($1 pours… and automated tasting machine?!?!?!???!!!!!!!!), 1/3 incredibly comfortable space to sip, talk, enjoy! I came from out of town and would move to Wilmington for this place! Also, the host was so friendly and inviting. I sampled several wonderful wines with no pressure to buy. 😘

Excellent curated selections from Europe, US, and Africa. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, well-designed space, average prices with discounts on half cases and cases.
You can shop, taste local beers or bubbly at the bar, and/or taste 16 or so bottles by automated pour (1oz, 2oz, and 5oz).
Great spot to hang out with your wine nerd friends, a cute date, or a chill solo afternoon on the patio. And they'll let you bring in a BLT from Rounds next door 💛

Best wine store in wilmington ..very knowledgeable ,very helpful. Unless you're either lazy or cheap ...go somewhere else. Jamie puts his.heart and soul in this shop.

Love this place! It's in a plaza, so parking is easy and plentiful. You can purchase bottles or help yourself to tastings. I like to try different wines, and if you do too just head to the back bar and ask for a tasting card. There are usually 24-ish wines to taste by automatic 1oz, 2oz, and 5oz pours, half white/rose and half red. Taste what you want and check out when you're done. There's a $30 limit on the card at first; if you go over that just ask and they'll extend the limit (helpful when you're in a group).
They also have beers by the pint and a slushie option if wine isn't your jam. There's a plush couch/loveseat/coffee table area and a few tables inside for you to sit comfortably with friends, or a bar with maybe 8 seats. They also have a couple tables outside.
Jamie and April are friendly and smart, and can direct you to something you'll enjoy if you're not sure where to start. Bottles are mostly French, Italian, Kiwi, and African, but if there's something specific you're looking for they can probably order it for you.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

This is our favorite place to get beer or wine in Wilmington! The staff and owners are always extremely helpful and are an encyclopedia of knowledge. The pour-it-yourself wine taps are so fun and the owner pics only the best draft beers in the nation!

The owners are always present and willing to answer questions. They have a range of wines at different price points that can serve most people's needs and budget. They also have local and interesting craft beers and ciders for sale. The tastings are free and generous, and they provide a printout of what they are serving with notes regarding region, flavor, and dryness, sweetness, etc. If they no longer have the wine initially set aside for the tastings because they are sold out, they will explain this and replace the wine for tasting with a comparable one. Over all, great store and staff.
