The staff was so lovely! They immediately made Cooper feel more relaxed and took such good care of him. They communicated to my husband and I what was going to happen and that Coop would be fine. They were spot on with meds and in two days he was so much better.

BluePearl has taken great care of our cat, Luna, through GI issues and lymphoma. We were promptly able to get her in for visits and emergency care when she needed it, the team members were very friendly and responsive to questions, medication refills, etc. Thank you, Dr. Dulaney and team for your attention and care!

We brought my 14-year old Mini Aussie to Blue Pearl after exhausting treatment at our regular vet. We ultimately made the very sad decision to put her down. I cannot say enough about what a BLESSING Dr. Blincoe was as she patiently talked us through options for Sammy and was available to answer our questions over and over. She took her time with us and was so beautifully relational as we made the decision to say good-bye to my fur baby. I have a peace now, knowing that we were allowed to be thoughtful about hard choices, and we were cared for during the process. Thank you to all the sweet Blue Pearl staff and to Dr. Blincoe, for your time and your care for us and Sammy!

Upon realizing my sweet dog had chipped his tooth and exposed the pulp, I immediately searched for a pet hospital that was open so late at night. Upon calling, I spoke with Jenn who was very kind and patient listening to my story and talking me through my concerns. From the beginning of the call, Jenn was clearly attentive to my needs and immediately willing to listen and answer my preliminary questions. While I ultimately did not need assistance from BluePearl (given the nature of my pup’s issue), I was very grateful for the kindness and empathy shown by Jenn during our call. I would definitely recommend and keep BluePearl in mind should an emergency arise.

The staff immediately came to the door and took my sick dog out of my arms and back for an examination. Even though she did not survive, I am grateful for their excellent care and compassion.

I gave them 5 stars because they went above and beyond my expectations! My Lab Max was very sick they comforted me and they made him comfortable as they could! I ended up making the decision to put him to down which hurt so bad but they were very sympathetic to me and my family! They even sent me a sympathy card telling me how sorry they were for my familys loss! I highly recommend this vet! They are really compassionate about the animals they treat! I will be back with my husky Skype! Thanks for the compassionate care yall provided! ❤

Our 10-year old cat swallowed a good length of yarn (turns out, over two feet!) and we called his normal vet who was just about to close. They had suggested TVRH on Morreene but when we called there the wait was over 4 hours, so we brought him here. Thank goodness we did!
They induced vomiting and were able to get out the whole string, possibly saving our cat's life. I really liked that they were transparent about pricing over the phone and that they walked us through their covid protocols, which involved us waiting outside in the car while they brought our cat inside and back out to us. Very friendly staff, took great care of our cat, and made us feel reassured through the whole thing.

My five year old mini Australian shepherd was attacked by a black Labrador just shy of a year ago. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life as I got bit as well in the face and hand trying to save her.

I showed up to VSH within 30 minutes of the attack and they were quick and ready waiting for us (since I had called the incident in). One veterinary tech took her in and the other looked at me and said you have to get seen (since I was bit). Since I was stubborn and refused to seek medical help for myself while I waited to hear about my aussie, they brought out gauze and an antibacterial cleaner so I can use on my hand and face.
Come to find out later that I had to bring her in the following morning to clean out the wound and have a specialist look at it. Everyone's first thought would be, will she make it, and how much is this going to be?
To bring what's a long story to a close, Dr. Cruz was the specialist that saved Kaia's life. The emergency doctor and clinical staff that was in that Sunday morning who spent a lot of time picking out debris from underneath her skin also saved her life.
There was roughly 14 days where I had to drop her off early in the morning and she would stay through the early evening to assess the wound, take away dead skin and clean it out. She had surgery to remove a large amount of dead skin and almost needed a skin graft.
I expected the costs to be insanely astronomical with 2 weeks of every day, all day care, meds and surgery. They worked hard to work with me and I am appreciative of their effort, their care for Kaia and their willingness to explain in depth to me. The costs were significantly less than I expected. As I look at these reviews, most are upset at the costs of care. Well, if you were to walk into the emergency room (for humans) with no insurance and seek the same level of care, how much would that be? To me, I think veterinarians do not make enough, and vet techs (practically nurses).

Dr. Cruz is a remarkable veterinarian with extensive knowledge and skill. I HIGHLY recommend you see her if your pet has cancer, or wound care.

To VSH in Durham: Kaia says hi, she does not miss those two weeks, but is extremely grateful for the care you gave her and the years of her life she has back. She has since been to the outer banks, camping in the mountains and camping in Maine. I am beyond grateful.

Very kind, patient and informative. Grateful for their compassion. I’m sure they work with so many people and different types of emotions… and their professionalism and compassion rises to the top. I can only imagine having to deliver painful news to a pet owner… thank you for your grace, love and support.

Triangle veterinarian practice suggested we take our collie, Sunny to Blue Pearl animal hospital. I’m very glad we did. I was very happy to see that they didn’t rush into doing a procedure or a surgery - because he had and extended stomach due to gas. They did an x-ray and gave us some alternatives to medicating him that we appreciated a great deal, because we don’t like medicating too much. It took time but it was well worth the time in the expense.

We had a very sick dog that had been seen at the Veterinary Referral Hospital in Durham and VEG in Cary over the course of 3 days. Both of those emergency vets missed the diagnosis after running several very expensive tests. Our poor dog was dying and we decided to go to Blue Pearl. They were wonderful - they met us at the door and were gentle with our little guy - they treated him with compassion and respect. We decided that no matter what we did at that point would rescue him, so we had him put down. It was very traumatic after being told for 4 days by other vets he would recover.

The entire staff at Blue Pearl was wonderful and helped us do the right thing for our Chase. I recommend this practice to anyone with a pet emergency. My only complaint is that this location of Blue Pearl has limited hours - I wish they were open 24/7. I will never take any of my dogs that are having a medical emergency to the 2 practices mentioned in my first sentence.

My furbaby Penny had diarreah and vomiting which turned into blood coming out of both ends. She went downhill very fast. I called five different veterinary offices. None of them would see her within five days time. No matter how I told them of her symptoms and how she was behaving. I then started contacting the urgent care in my area and was told that they were full and that I would have a 4-6 hour. When I contacted Blue Pearl in Raleigh, I was greeted by someone who expressed empathy for my distress and for my furbaby not feeling well. She immediately reassured me that they could take are of us. After I described the symptoms, she explained that it was recommended that I take my furbaby to their Durham office because they could perform a sonogram there. She advised me to head out because they were waiting for us there. It took me a little over an hour to get there and when I walked in the door, they immediately asked if my furbaby was Penny and the receptions came up to greet and pet my baby. Just this greeting alone was enough to offer comfort and a sense of security. Within minutes they put us in a room and a tech came in to get the medical history and shortly after the Vet walked in. Everything that was going to be done was thoroughly explained to me. After the test were done, findings were also thoroughly discussed as well as recommendations. I am extremely grateful for accommodating their schedule to see my baby and for the amazing customer and professional service received. The techs were awesome and sweet and they ALL made me feel like they cared and valued how I was feeling and about the well-being of my baby. Every person we dealt there was awesome! I highly recommend this facility.

One of my cats has seen the oncologist at the Durham location (Dr. Susan Shairo) for the past 2 years, and she and her staff have been great. Friendly, capable, competent and willing to take the time to establish a relationship w/ my cat. Rocky the patient) is in remission and going strong, and we couldn’t be happier.

By far the best emergency vet experience! Our cat became lethargic and dehydrated so we brought her in. They discovered that she ate a string that got stuck and they ended up needing to perform emergency surgery. They were so friendly and communicative for the entire process which really put our minds at ease. Even the front desk encouraged us to just call if we ever wanted an update! We get her back sooner than we expected and she is doing amazing recovering at home! We are so thankful to BluePearl for taking such good care of our baby!

If I could give them 10 stars I would. Our dog Pepper of 13 years was struggling and when we arrived to they graciously took him in and did an ultrasound and unfortunately we had to say goodbye🥲🥲🥲. I cannot express the concern, the compassion and the treatment my dog received from these wonderful people. I highly recommend this place a second to none. The way they treated my wife and I as well as our lovely dog Pepper, who was in heaven words cannot express a big thank you to the complete staff each and everyone of them. Very loving, professional, understanding, and very compassionate to my wife, myself and our lovely dog pepper, who crossed over to the other side. God bless each and everyone of you for the way you’ve treated us and pepper.

I cannot express how amazing they are here at BluePearl. On a Saturday night my 18 year old terrier was having breathing problems. I take him in at 1am and he is immediately seen and it turns out he had a collapsed trachea. This was difficult because my dog has multiple health conditions + his age, which made his situation really dire. However, he was wonderfully cared for by everyone there. In addition, they were amazing with communication. Even though they were so busy, they made sure to call and communicate how my dog was doing and keep me updated on costs. For a poor grad student, this was so appreciated!! They also gave me the option of taking my dog home early, and never pressured me to make him stay because of costs. However, I opted for him to stay for two nights (36 hours total) which ended up costing $2,100. Very expensive, but for 24/7 amazing care? Worth every penny. My dog has a long healing journey ahead of him, but they have made it clear that they are here for me if I need to bring him back or talk on the phone.

I am SO grateful for the staff here, and so thankful that they were able to save my dog's life and offer him the care he deserves and needs. Thank you, staff at BluePearl Durham! <3

Just spent a few hours at Blue Pearl and I cannot emphasize the level of compassion shown toward us and our kitty. We had to make the terrible decision to put her to sleep, and I believe it was Dr. Schuber that kept us informed and did NOT pressure us into any decisions. Emergency medicine is costly, but she was nothing but honest and helpful. When we went in to say goodbye, the staff were so kind and respectful even at 4am.

Every single staff member was absolutely wonderful to us. They were sincere, compassionate, understanding, and patient while explaining a diagnosis to me and answering all of my questions. We traveled 3 hours to get there, but I would do it all over again.

I brought my cat in late at night with a urinary blockage. The emergency hospital I regularly use referred me here because their veterinarian was in an emergency procedure already. The staff at Blue Pearl were responsive on the phone when I called to say I was on the way, and they gave me good directions for a fast check-in. The tech came out quickly to get my cat and get his treatment started. Another tech called me shortly after to give me an update, while I was still filling out paperwork. In spite of seeing several other animals come and go during the short time I was waiting, Dr. Pines found time to call me pretty quickly and spoke quite frankly, which I needed. Emergency veterinary treatment is a huge financial investment in a pet we love, so I want to be sure my animal is in excellent hands. I feel like he is.
