Can not thank Michael Coates at Forest Park enough for his caring manner, his professionalism and his assistance in coordinator my family's needs. Had to coordinate the arrangements from out-of-state - Michael was great w/confirming and assuring me and my family that everything was taken care of. On the day of the graveside service, Michael was there and insured everything was perfect til the very end.

Forest Park East, Mr. Mike Coates, helped my family with final services for my mother at a difficult time of our lives. He made sure the burial area was ready to receive our mother’s ashes on the day we got there. The burial was quickly handled and we had time to say prayers in a beautiful crisp, sunny day.
Lord Jesus Christ, by your own 3 days in the tomb, you hallowed the graves of all who believe in you and so made the graves a sign of hope that promises resurrection.

Forest Park Cemetery has strived to maintain the beauty and peacefulness expected on these grounds. We have several generations of our family buried here since 1988. The Grounds Keepers have battled extremely harsh weather conditions over the years to keep the roads and the look of the majestic burial spots for their Loved Ones. Mike and his Team of Staff compliment the effort of the Grounds Keepers by always being available to deal with any issues, and they have always made us feel like we are part of their Family. Bless you for always being there for us in our time of need.

I contacted the cemetery to see if a cousin of mine who was buried there back in 1995 had a headstone. Within a couple of days Mike Coates sent me a picture of the headstone. I really appreciated his taking time not only to inform me but to actually send me a picture. Thanks Mike.

My father purchased a family plot at Forest Park East Cemetery in the 1970's and when my father passed, we were fortunate to know his wishes were to join my mother and brother there. As my father passed in New Orleans and not knowing the process, we started with a phone call to the cemetery and were connected with Mike Coates. Mike guided us through the process, provided recommendations for a local florist and minister. He worked hand-in-hand with the funeral home in New Orleans, provided us his cell phone up front for constant communication during the arrangements and through the burial service. We highly recommend Mike and Forest Park East.

Forest Park is where most of my dad’s side of the family is buried. It is a beautiful place. Mike Coates helped me out every step of the way. He is very friendly and professional at the same time. He is timely in his responses as well. He is definitely an asset to Forest Park.

Mike Coates and his team did an outstanding job for us, on fairly short notice. His suggestions regarding the various products and services were on point and not excessive, and his grounds crew were responsive to our requests in a timely manner. Overall, the rolling grounds and trees are lovely and very peaceful, and the team is very respectful. We have no problem recommending Mike Coates and Forest Park East Cemetery.

I was amazed after going to Forest Park East today to place Christmas wreaths on our family plots! The grounds were absolutely amazing as they have done an incredible job cutting down trees, trimming trees, as well as removing dead bushes, etc. This is the best this cemetery has looked in ages! I went by the office on my way out and thanked Sarah and the other staff and told them how great everything looked and how much I appreciated the work.

Amazing experience!! The staff went over and beyond to be of assistance. We were visiting from out of town over a weekend and were trying to locate several relatives buried at the cemetery. Miraculously, Mike from the cemetery responded immediately to our after hours phone call and agreed to come out and meet us and look up the location of the graves we were looking for. He then personally escorted us to the graves. He met us on a Sunday! In this day and age of self-service and automation: who doe that? We were super impressed! We feel confident our departed love ones are in good hands! Thank you, Mike!

This is a lovely cemetery. Everytime I visit, everything is perfect. On every occasion, all staff have treated my family, like we were their family.

Forest park cemetery has done a wonderful job caring for my inlaws plot. Mike was especially compassionate, helpful, practical and cost conscious in assisting the funeral arrangements for my father in-law. I realize this is an older cemetery yet the staff was very helpful cleaning and preparing my family plot. The staff is very willing to assist in addressing any family concerns.

The staff is truly a partner when making many little decisions which one could not have imagined beforehand. We laughed; we cried; we talked; and we planned for the future. I was welcomed in to what felt like a family by Kate. Mechelle even attended our small church service to support me during the emotional interment to bring my son, John Courtney Meriwether, home to a permanent place to rest. Our family plot now boasts 5 generations resting at Forest Park East.

From positioning of foot stones, to permanent vase placement, to monument management, to staging of the service, I was treated professionally and compassionately. Mike truly knows his stuff and cared about my family plot.

I have been working with Mike Coates for approximately six years, beginning in 2016, and he has always demonstrated a high level of professionalism. Mike has been available when I needed to discuss purchases and make changes.
