The Urban Bean Coffeehouse Cafe

My family always enjoys coming here. The food is scrumptious and the menu is vast! As a vegan and being gluten sensitive, I especially appreciate the option variety and substitutions which far exceeds elsewhere in Jacksonville. For anyone craving something sweet, be sure to try their triple chocolate donut. It’s vegan and GF but it’s still the best donut my non-vegan friends have tried in all of Jacksonville! Ambience has a unique and fun vibe inside and out. Service and staff are friendly, especially Michael. Advise not to come in a rush as menu items are made fresh so the wait is sometimes a bit longer than one would anticipate, but worth the wait! Today my order was not correct twice; the first time they caught the mistake (forgot to use a GF bun, but big thank you!) and the second time they used regular cheese and not vegan. I pointed it out and it was corrected. These things can happen.

Had the PB Banana Waffle Boat. It was amazing! The waffle was incredibly light and fluffy, not overly sweet but completely decadent! Hubs had the Southern Pecan Waffle Boat, no pics because he ate it all up too quick. He said it was delicious as well! We split and omelet and order of potato pancakes and it was all yummy. Totally recommend this place!

Got a matcha latte, which was nice and very mild, and vegan chocolate donut which was also yummy and quite sweet. Chill on a Sunday afternoon. WiFi didn’t really work which might keep me from going there more often. Good otherwise

I’m really impressed by the meal I just ate. I had no idea about the food because I thought it was only a coffee house. I ordered the pick two…1/2 of the Mediterranean salad and 1/2 of the Downtown sandwich. I ate all of it. It was so delicious! I will definitely go back.

My only beef is the lack of indoor seating for 4 to 6 people and the hard bar stools to sit on. Maybe invest in more comfortable bar stools? We would have sat outdoors, but the heat was impossible.
Other than that, the food is excellent and the service is great. I would have liked to see more strawberries on my strawberry waffle bowl. I only had two...slices, not whole ones.
Hub loved his omelet, and our friends loved their egg sandwiches. We're from out of town but will be back!

What else can I say about this place. Food is good point blank. I wish I had more chips but other than that the food is always good. I had the PB&J burger. It was cooked amazingly. My wife had the breakfast flatbread, it was good but probably needed some kind of sauce on the side. It was good just need something else with it

We were a large party of 6 and the workers were extremely friendly while taking our big order. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable as well as the portion sizes. The workers treated us with kindness and didn’t make us feel like a bother despite our large and complicated order. Overall a great experience and would recommend if you’re ever in the area!!

Delicious. Coffee house vibes are there, live saxophone when we walked in on a Sunday afternoon. Breakfast sandwich was 10/10, homemade bagels 😍 I’m all about the “made in house” foods, they’ve got it down. I got the boss sandwich, would go without the onion jam next time, I don’t like sweet things on my savory foods much, but gave it a try. Without the jam, it was incredible. Also, desserts are fantastic. Mississippi pie was so good. Planning to return before I leave JAX!

I have passed by this place many times and never tried it before, until my aunt who came into town suggested that we have breakfast here. It was so delicious! I had the gluten free waffle with bananas and nutella and a lemonade. The waffle was amazing and the lemonade was refreshing, not too sweet and not too sour. My aunt had the boss bagel and loved it too. I would definitely come back here.

If you're looking for some amazing tea, coffee, matcha, or fruit flavored drinks do yourself a favor and stop by! They also have a wonderful menu filled with so many various foods including mouthwatering, beautiful donuts, cakes/pies, and other sweets! 🧁 They have bagels, waffle boats and other breakfast items as well as lunch sandwiches 🥪 and a variety of pita bread with toppings. There's seriously something here for everyone.

I've tried the waffle boat, sweet matcha, turkey taster, Oreo donut, and strawberry lemonade. Everything was so good. The turkey taster was really unique: it had slices of green apple 🍏 and jam with turkey-delicious! The sweet matcha 🍵 is definitely a favorite of mine, I prefer it cold. But everything I've tried so far has been really good. You can't go wrong.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to stop by!

Update: been back and got the bird, bacon and egg waffle float and triple chocolate donut and a sprinkled donut. All great!

I really wish I lived around this area for this place! One of the best coffee houses I have been in!!! Everything from the service, atmosphere, and coffee/food, AMAZING! I stopped in for a bagel & coffee, and honestly, didn't want to leave because I wanted to try more items :) I ordered a Sesame Bagel with Onion & Chive Cream Cheese and a 16 oz Flat White with Vanilla. The bagel needed to be made (no problem there) and took about 15 min. The bagel was perfect :) Coffee prices are comparable to a Starbucks, but this place is a MUST try. Bonus, they have a drive-thru! If I'm ever in the area again, I will be back!!!

Edit: i went back and got a vegan waffle boat with strawberries instead of bananas (they were out of bananas), the veggie lovers flat bread, and mellow mango smoothie all was delicious 😋 and I'm craving some of that smoothie lol i spent about $25 for all this.

07/16/24 today was my second visit. I had the Cobb salad and it was so good and so fresh. I will be a regular customer. I posted urban bean on the Nextdoor app with a pic of the salad that had the prettiest presentation. I posted it as a hidden gem in OP but honestly I may just be late for the party. So glad I found this place. I haven’t tried the coffee yet but if you guys have Sugarfree iced coffees that will be my next order.

Quaint coffee/tea shop shop with amazing food option. The food is prepared fresh so expect a little wait on your order. They have vegan, dairy free and gluten free options as well. I had the Boss breakfast sandwich and the potato cakes. The onion jam on the sandwich is soooo good. The service is friendly. I'll definitely return. Parking can be a pain, otherwise all is well.

We are actually fairly new to this place and we've already been there like 7 or 8 times. While a bit pricey, all the food is fresh (the bagels, homemade cream cheese, and donuts are 👌👌👌) and are simply delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for studying, group meetings, or just a relaxing coffee break- clean, not too loud, relaxed. The tea lattes are a GREAT option for tea lovers, though the coffee is well made also. Smoothies also have real fruit lol. So far everything I have tried (not ashamed I've tried a lot already) has been made with love by the friendly staff/cooks ;)

It is very urban and industrial. The outside seating would have been nice had it been warmer. I saw dogs. The coffee was delicious. I enjoyed the Christmas decorations 🎄

The decor and atmosphere is so charming and cozy. The food was great as well as the presentation. My party ordered the southern pecan waffle boat, salted caramel cheesecake, maple bacon donuts, chocolate, and root beer float. Service was awesome. Never felt rushed. Cashier recommended other menu items according to what we like. I left full and satisfied. We'll be back for sure.
