The hospitality is top 5 one of the best place in all of Virginia. My room wasn't quite ready because I arrived early. Miemie the front desk concierge was very pleasant, full of radiant sunshine, made the suggestion I go to the rest room wine down have something to eat at they're breakfast-buffet. And allow her to work her magic. Long story short, I was full, headed back to the car. When I was told, that some changes were made. And that me and my family was accommodated. Absolutely 🥇wonderful!

We stayed at the Founders Inn and Spa to celebrate New Years Eve 1/31/2023. We departed the next morning, 1/1/2024. The Inn room accommodations were superb. The overall Inn service was superb. The Inn location was convenient and quiet. Vehicle parking was plentiful. The Inn dinner and breakfast service was outstanding. We did not use other Inn services during this stay due the the brief time we stayed. We heard from other guests that the spa services were superb as well. Would we stay at the Inn for New Years Eve again? Yes.

A Flawless Wedding at The Founders Inn

Rating: ★★★★★

As a wedding coordinator, I recently had the privilege of planning a wedding at The Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The experience was exceptional, largely thanks to the outstanding staff, particularly Raquel, Conference Services Manager and Tim, Banquet Captain.

Raquel's meticulous attention to detail and warm, reassuring presence made the planning process a breeze. She ensured the couple's vision became a reality.

On the big day, Tim, was a true pro. His organizational skills and calm demeanor kept everything running seamlessly. I could relax, knowing he had it all under control.

The venue was spotless, the food was exquisite, and the entire experience was top-notch. If you're a wedding coordinator looking for the perfect venue, look no further than The Founders Inn. Raquel, Tim, and the whole team make dreams come true.

Everyone here was so friendly. My husband and I stayed here for two nights after we had an Airbnb fail. We had brought our two dogs with us and all of the staff here was so helpful and accommodating. They watched our dogs while we went to the dining room and gathered to go boxes from the buffet. Lauren in the dining room was especially helpful. She had a kind spirit about her and She held my two dogs so I was able to go to the buffet and gather food. She was so sweet and kind.

We had an excellent stay at The Founders Inn. Everyone from the restaurant and bar, front desk, housekeeping staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. Highly recommended.
The property itself is beautiful, the rooms are quiet, and there were so many thoughtful touches you just don't see in hotels any more.
A small quibble with the internet speed. A call dropped more than once when I was on a work Zoom. I do wish hotels would modernize and prioritize WiFi these days, so if you're coming here expecting great internet, this is not that spot.

I enjoyed my stay here. It's kind of secluded off the main road, surrounded by lots of trees.

The rooms are older and you can hear the other rooms but they are comfortable, clean and nice.

The staff is nice and helpful. I liked my stay and thought the price was reasonable.

We recently celebrated our wedding at the Founders Inn, and it was nothing short of magical! Maria Lindauer, our wedding manager, made the entire process a joy. She helped us select the perfect package for our special day, and when we had to change our wedding date, Maria, along with the Director of Sales Melissa, effortlessly accommodated our request.
Christine Hook, the hotel planner, worked wonders, making the planning process seamless for my wife, our wedding coordinator, and me. She left no detail unattended, ensuring clear communication with the entire team.
Our guests are still raving about the incredible food. The banquet chef Calvin Williams promised that the flavors from our tasting would be replicated on our wedding day, and indeed, they were! The timing was impeccable, and the staff went above and beyond to make our wedding truly remarkable.
Special mention goes to two outstanding employees, Carol Sweeney and Tim Bostic. Tim, in particular, was attentive throughout, ensuring we had everything we needed. His genuine care was evident. During the reception, when my wife and I found ourselves without much of an appetite, Carol surprised us in our room with a beautifully set table featuring all our appetizers, dinner, and a heartfelt congratulations/welcome letter from the General Manager, accompanied by wine and chocolate-covered strawberries. It was a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated, especially after the celebration left us hungry.
The team at the Founders Inn truly blessed our family with an unforgettable wedding experience. Thank you!

We had a great time in the Norfolk area with friends. We went to the Botanical Gardens, Bush Gardens, and Colonial Historic Williamsburg. The main reason for this trip was to see Christmas Lights. None of the three venues disappointed. Neither did the Founders Inn and Spa. The decorations are GREAT!

I stayed at this hotel while visiting my daughter at Regent University. The location of this hotel is wonderful, as it is easy to access the college from here. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. The ease of booking was great. The warm welcome was also nice as well.

Very posh joint, thematically it's based around America's founding fathers so there are lots of ex president paintings, photos etc. There is an on-site spa offering massages and the like. Nice gym with multiple treadmills, weights elliptical machines and more. There is a hotel bar and restraunt food was good service was also good. Desk help has been great as well. I recommend staying here as the grounds are fantastic for walking plenty of trees a small hedge maze and pond with a walking path surrounding it.

Definitely lavish but homely. The service is A1 and the food was fabulous. They have a pond in there middle of the compound and I made friends with the ducks. I really loved my stay there and so did my twin

Great stay and extremely dog friendly! They have 2 huge dog parks on the grounds. The spa is quite nice and the hotel overall is just a lovely and historic place to be. Of note, I heard they give ghost tours in the basement (or they used to). I had no weird vibes while there so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

The property and amenities were perfect for my fiancé, son and myself. The room was clean. The ducks made the experience so special and magical. The property was beautiful. The pool slide was a surprise. The lifeguard Marley was really pleasant. We met a groundskeeper named James and he made the inn experience very enjoyable.

Nice find. Colonial and country feel, very nice lobby and beautiful outdoor areas. Room was comfortable, adjustable thermostat. Many room categories to pick from. Only stayed overnight but would definitely come back to get to enjoy the resort and all they have to offer.
