Barbara is a marvelous host for the Historical Society Museum. Listen to her play the antique player piano which Harry Nottingham bought in 1911!

Outdoor electric outlet good for charging devices. Wifi available from the porch. Verizon signal strong. Clean bathrooms and a beautiful stream running behind the building.

This rest area is beautiful. I make regular trips between Denver and Grand Junction, Colorado. This rest area is right about halfway, so it's a great location for a potty stop. The museum is really interesting, if you're able to stop by when it and the visitor center are open, and the staff are very friendly. Finally, take some time to sit by the river and relax before continuing your journey. You'll be glad you did!

This was the most tranquil rest stop I've been to so far. The mini museum and train caboose were fun to check out and the river behind it was beautiful.

This is a great stop for a bathroom break and a stretch. Access to the river. Picnic table. Even saw an old train car that's set up to walk through. I've never gone inside, but, there is additional I formation for tourists as well.

If the weather is cooperative, stop here for longer than a bathroom break. As mentioned by so many, the river is calming and beautiful. The gift shop has some great local items. The grassy area is good for pets, and the train cars for kids or rail buffs.

This was very easy to find off the interstate.
The grounds were very nice with a scenic walk to a pretty waterway.
The employee was extremely helpful.
A must stop!

We stop here on the way to and from Denver every time. Great stop to stretch your legs and go to the bathroom. Love being right on the river too. The museum is very cool- my kids loved to look around- the lady working there was very friendly!

I've never written a review for a rest stop before. This was the best one that I've ever been to! The sweetest lady played the player piano for us and my niece got to use an antique type writer! Make sure you check it out you won't be sorry!

The restrooms were clean. The parking lot was ample. The staff was helpful, friendly and engaging. The white barn museum is quite the gem! I recommend checking it out. The admission is free although donations are appreciated. They have some very interesting museum pieces from the 18 and, 1900's. There are also several quality books they allow you to look at. The guy at the desk who greets you is super nice, friendly, quick witted and highly knowledgeable. Near the river and they have areas to have a picnic. We saw a picnic table near museum. Worth the stop!

This is a neat little stop when driving from Denver to Glenwood Springs. Just pretty, nothing fancy at all.

This is a lovely stop. There's a park, free museum, and an info center about Eagle, CO. There are also restrooms, picnic tables, and a path to the river to sit and/or play in the water.

This place is comprised of one building with a good sized and well priced gift shop with a brochure rack, another building for the restrooms, third building that houses a free museum, a caboose train car that you can pose for pictures on, and a blacksmith building (closed when we visited). The ladies at the museum and gift shop were quite friendly. The gift shop takes credit cards and has snacks, chocolates, locally crafted items, and souvenirs like postcards and t-shirts. Parking is easy and free. It's right next to the river and a great rest stop.

Pulled in here after a couple rest areas in the vicinity were closed or under construction. Spent the night in the car sleeping and this area had minimal noise from the highway nearby. The center was closed overnight and so we’re the restrooms.

A good, clean, convenient rest stop. Also, the history museum is a little small but still interesting.

Great place! And a nod to the wonderful lady (with the broken foot) behind the counter; I didn't get her name, because we were busy talking politics! Lots of good info...

The cutest little gift shop. We visited a few times while in town and ended up leaving with something every time. We left something behind and when we called to ask if it was still there, it was. The Ladies even mailed our items to us. Thank you SO much for doing so.
