We love Ptarmigan Sports! They have such a great selection of clothing, shoes, and gear. They truly are one of the best stores in the Vail Valley! Their staff is always so helpful and friendly. Ptarmigan is a great part of our sweet community!

I went in looking for a fuel canister for my jet boil and was happy to see they had several in stock. I also picked up a really nice bear bag for food. It's not a huge store, but they seem to have everything you'd need for backpacking and what they do carry, is all great quality stuff!

This is a great little shop that had several items I had to have and several more that I feel like I need to go back for. I bought a backpack and didn’t realize it was sized so of course I bought too small. They took it back and got me setup with no issue. I also bought some clothes as they carry many of my favorite brands. I will be back and I will recommend.

Great clothing selection and enough gear to outfit your next backpacking trip.

They’re a Yakima dealer. I was directed to them by another bike shop after I had broken the key in my hitch mounted Yakima bike rack. They went out of their way to help extract the broken key blade. Unfortunately they were unable to remove it. They did give me very detailed instructions on drilling the lock core out and set me up with a replacement core and key. Job completed and working like new. Thanks so much!
