Ledges trail is one of the most unique trails in Cuyahoga. The caves are beautiful and I’d give you an eerie feeling when you hike through it. My kids loved climbing through the rock. It is not at all a boring trail. Very kid friendly. We loved the rock formations. There are some warnings for the bats. Overall we had a great time in this trail.

One of the most unique trails in northern Ohio! Winding around beautiful sandstone ledges, outcropping and overlooks of the Cuyahoga Valley. You're never to far from the parking lot or restrooms at any given point. And a great place to hike when everywhere else would be muddy!

An awesome little hike that feels like travelling through another time with how different and well preserved it is, and not like any other trails in the surrounding region.
Would highly recommend to go here and on this trail, but is a little rocky and has some steep steps at parts.

Beautiful trails that are well marked and relatively easy to do. It's mostly flat but has a few areas with a slight incline.

My favorite hiking spot in the area. Really beautiful all year round. So much to see and do. I highly recommend walking it in its entirety and don't be afraid to climb and explore (with caution and respect to the environment) there are some hidden gems, like the carvings, rock formations, intriguing tree growth, and beautiful views.

We had an amazing hike on the Ledges Trail and it was such a great introduction to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was a great distance around with a few different options of shortening or lengthening the hike if you wanted. Overall very well marked. We hiked with 2 dogs and a 4 month old in a baby carrier without any issues.

Lovely hike took less than an hour to do the loop before looking over The Ledges. It has some steep slippery rocks so bring good hiking shoes and possibly poles. Recommend going toward sunset for best view.

This place is absolutely incredible! Very enchanting. I highly recommend you visit. The hike is a bit technical and will take about an hour to complete unless you decide to take your time and enjoy the splendor and beauty of this magnificent and awe inspiring geologic wonder.

One of the coolest trails in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The rock formations are intriguing and fascinating. You can see several geologic layers from sedimentary rocks that have millions of years. The trees are also beautiful and there is evidence of wild animals everywhere. I would love to come here every season.

This is one of the beautiful hikes in Cuyahoga National Park. The rocks and their layers are just beautiful and stunning. This is the most visited hikes in Cuyahoga and you have multiple options to choose. Takes around 2 to 2.5 hours to go through the loop. It’s a 2.2 mile loop. It’s kinda easy for avid hikers. It’s not too difficult. There is plenty of parking and a huge shelter. It’s a must visit in Cuyahoga!!

We loved this area. The trail was nice and very relaxing. I loved the geological history of the area. The ice box cave is closed to protect the bats. It was just a beautiful area.

Highlight of the Cuyahoga Valley NP for me. Some spectacular rock formations throughout the loop. It may not be for everyone as most of the trail is very uneven, rocky, and “rooty”. That said, I didn’t find it strenuous at all…some mild up and down. Mostly just need to watch your footing.

Beautiful and easy 2 mile hike with cool erosion and rock formations. Look for tree root systems growing in and out of the rocks!

This was a perfect size, easy trail. I came here with a friend and two dogs, and all of us were happy with the trail! This one is particularly fun because of the rock formations that quite literally form ledges. Part of the trail puts you between two large boulder formations! The trail is gravel, dirt, rock, and tree stumps, so wear appropriate footwear. The trail is well marked and well-maintained. I would hike again!

This is a beautiful and easy trail to check out at Cuyahoga National Park. There's a loop and a few off-shoots to check out so I'd recommend taking a photo of the map at the trailhead to help you. We hiked to the overlook and there's a field of grass you can take a shortcut back to the parking lot from there if you want. We continued the loop and checked out Ice Box cave. The ice box cave area was pretty rocky and you had to be extra careful on the rocks but there were families with kids and older folks that made the trek fine. There's two shelters you can also hike to but we finished the loop and headed out. Made for a very enjoyable hike!

Awesome trail, best hike in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Beautiful views around every corner. It is a 2 mile loop around the parking lot area and shelter. There is ledges along pretty much the whole trail. Not too much elevation, but has some. Has lots of roots and rocks, so be careful if you have fragile ankles. Will take around 1-1.5 hours depending on how much you stop and check things out. Park at the Ledges lot or Octagon lot.
