Glenford Fort Preserve

Delightful place with great stone work! Showed up on a summer Sunday afternoon with No one to share the trails with and impressive maple tapping setup.

Absolutely breath taking! I'm not sure what part was actually the best. Seeing the rock mound as I peak the ridge and conquer the rock wall, walking across the flat past the picnic tables in to the clearing. Or walking between two walls of rock formation that looks as if it was put there by God himself just for us who wonder in the woods. Maybe it was the walk alone, giving peace to a restless soul looking for freedom from covid and the city life. Could it have been climbing the same rocks where Indians once called home? Whatever it was, is nothing less than perfect and by far Glenfords own secret slice of the heavens. Please keep the land clean when you visit!!!!!

This preserve is one of my favorite locations to hike, clear my mind, and feel at peace. Some elevation changes, and diversity, history, with an appreciation for the caretakers as paths are easily accessible and marked. What a way to spend the day!

Good place to go for a hike.

We enjoyed our two mile walk. A very interesting place. Amazing that a 2000 year old structure is in such great condition. We look forward to the addition of descriptive waysides.

My granddaughter loves everything in nature. We really enjoyed the presentations given on Saturday.

I like history ... had know about it for years but used to be on private property...now it is preserved and open to public on limited basis...check website for scheduled activites ..

Great place to hike and learn

A great place for hiking, but a permit is required from the Perry Soil & Water Conservation District. It's easy to obtain, but takes planning - a 3-day advance notice. Be sure to download their map. The trails are mostly visible, but there's a lack of signage and/or trail markings. The picnic area at the top of the ridge is nice, but there are no restrooms facilities anywhere in the Preserve

small walk in mostly wooded area, up some hills ... historical area of ages past.

Unfortunately it wasn't open. I would think the trails and education center would be open on the weekends. When can one hike to the fort?

Privately owned, could not visit or hike. Nice area however drove all that way for nothing. Disappointed.
