Shale Tavern & Grille

Very pleasant surprise for a Days Inn hotel restaurant/bar! Great service, nice and homey atmosphere, and really good food! 1lb cheeseburger was fanfreakingstastic, and generous on the sweet potato fries. $5.25 for a 23oz Great Lakes Oktoberfest is hard to beat, too.

I got homestyle breaded chix mac 'n' cheese for later, and it weighs a good bit! **EDIT--had the mac last night, and OH MY GOD...best ever, and yes, it was huge, and I can eat, too. Again, totally unexpected from this unassuming place in little ol' Lisbon!

Had the turkey version of the above burger, and it was also phenomenal...juicy, and not dry.

The bolognese ziti bake is fantastic, and enormous.

I stopped by here simply because it was convenient as I was traveling through, and my mom heard it was good. I was pretty cranky as I pulled up, that was quickly changed. You could tell the waitress / bartender was busy by watching, but it didn't feel like she was busy due to the fantastic service.

I had the corn nuggets and the hot sausage sandwich, both were served promptly and deliciously prepared. What a pleasant ending to a long day!

Food was great we had a chicken salad which was delicious. Are waitress was was very pleasant and cheerful 😊 she made our dining experience very special!

A comfy warm atmosphere to dine in with your friends and family. Great food selections from a simple classic burger to a delicious pork chop dinner.

I can not thank the Shale enough for the salad donation for my son's benefit over the weekend. The generosity of the Shale was above and beyond and so much appreciated.

Very friendly and well priced for the quality and atmosphere... the bar area was far less crowded than the restaurant area was and the bartender was very friendly and accommodating. We will be back. Definitely an overlooked local gem!

The burgers at this place are absolutely delicious! Had a chicken sandwich and fries last night and it was so so good ! The Buffalo chicken dip is my go to appetizer! Friendly staff and great prices. Keep up the good work yall

For a small town like Lisbon, this would be considered up scale for some folks. The food is generally good and portions are as well. The Shale Burger is my go to sandwich. My favorite supper is The smashed red skin potatoes along with the Tavern Beef. The last green beans were more raw then cooked. That is ok for grilled veggies but not for boiled. They have a bar on the other side of the building, not viewed by diners. My last visit was an anniversary party for friends. The staff took great care of all of us, even served the cake we brought. Take your sweetie here for some together time, then walk around historic Lisbon, holding hands.

The bartender/waitress Kenzie is top notch! Her customer service is amazing! We was staying at the Days Inn because of the East Palestine train derailment and the first time we came in she remembered our drinks every visit after. She deserves a raise! The food is great too. Never had anything we didn’t like!

Good service, clean, affordable,understandable menu, daily specials, especially the Saturday & Sunday Prime Rib, actually cooked correctly and GOOD!

First time for me and my friend mikey. Everything was awesome. 5 stars on everything from me. Hanna C. was a great waitress. Will be back for sure in time

Food was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Dining area is clean. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of. I visited in February of 2023. I will return.

I belong to a monthly dining club and 26 members of the club attended. The service was outstanding. They have a well stocked bar with some craft and local beer. The choice of mixed drinks and wine is excellent. The meals were ordered individually and served approximately at the same time. The food is delicious and presentation made it even better. For dining alone or with a group is great. We also had a couple of children with us. They enjoyed their kids meals.

Wonderful place the food is great and so is the staff. Service is quick and the food hot. They have alot to choose from a variety of seafood to NY strip. Even the pickiest of eaters will find something to enjoy.keep up the great work guys.

Kenzie is an amazing bartender, she makes the best mixed drinks! I ordered some tacos that were on special and they were awesome. Excellent food and drink. Highly satisfied.
