Grinnell's Restaurant

Today marks 32 years of wedded bliss for my husband and I. Our plans fell through over the weekend so I frantically looked around for nice restaurant and had seating for Valentine's day. When called about 11am the gentleman said they just had a cancellation for 5:30pm and we locked it in.

Danny and I shared a cup of crab bisque and it was amazing. Highly recommend.

Danny ordered Jumbo Shrimp Scampi over pasta and he loves it! I took a pic but it was too blurry to post.

I ordered Chicken French with rice pilaf and it was to die for!!! Highly recommend it all.

Food was fantastic and service was above and beyond. We went in tonight for prime rib. I ended up having the fish fry but my husband ordered the prime rib. He shared it with my daughter. It was fantastic and so was the fish. Also had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, everything was phenomenal. Our servers were absolutely wonderful.

Went in for the prime rib special dinner in Thursday. Ordered pink for doneness and Lyonnaise potatoes. The prime rib was juicy and delicous! Finished with raspberry sorbet.

The food is so delicious here! Myself and my partner love this place. Great service.
And extra- I thought my purse was stolen, and after 2 days, I went on to see if maybe they did have it after all, they DID! Everything in it was untouched; my cash, hundred$ credit cards, etc
So refreshing, the honestly and care they took. So we decided to thank them last night by spending that $100 gc there and then some.

PS. The prime rib is the BEST! the chicken French, so perfect! The scallops mmmm delicious.

Valet parking. Amazingly friendly staff. Absolutely outstanding food, and really great cocktails. I can't say enough nice things about this place.

I took my client here while I was in town. I have to say that this was some of the best service but I've had in a very long time. Everybody was amazingly courteous and right there for everything we needed without us even having to ask. If you like scallops, these were some of the most lottery delicious scallops I've ever had my life. Do yourself a favor and give these folks a visit.

Our family was there to celebrate a birthday on 11/15/22. We were treated very respectfully and graciously. Our delicious appetizers were stuffed mushrooms and artichoke French. For entrees, we had the infamous and wonderful liver, the NY Strip (x2) and the lighter fare Chopped sirloin. Thank you for a heavenly meal.

Normally I don’t write reviews but I felt like I had to. This place was absolutely amazing! The service was phenomenal and the food was perfect! My boyfriend, son(who is 6 years old), and myself went for a nice dinner out because we didn’t feel like cooking and decided to try this place out based on the menu and reviews. From the minute we pulled in the parking lot we were greeted by friendly staff and seated right away. The waiter, Sean, greeted us immediately and was super friendly and accommodating. And although they didn’t have a kids menu Sean suggested some pasta and sauce, which my son who is a very picky eater, ACTUALLY ate and loved! I got the prime rib, which was cooked perfectly, and my boyfriend got the strip steak which was also cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and rice pilaf sides were also very good. Loved the atmosphere and how quiet it was compared to other restaurants (kitchen noises, and other guests). Will definitely be coming back soon and would 100% recommend to anyone I know! (:

In all my very many years of living in Rochester, and it’s over 60. I have never been to this fine establishment once. Tonight on my wife’s and my anniversary she saw a TV add for here. I told her then let’s go. I have found out that for a huge part of my life I have made a huge mistake. The service is impeccable, the food was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Don’t be me and make the mistake, this is Rochester’s gem. If I could give 10 stars I would.

The whole experience was great from pulling in to leaving. The waitress was extremely polite and helpful and the food was awesome. Me and my wife had the prime rib which melted in your mouth, my son got the salmon with the "Freddy" and my daughter had the New York strip and all of it was cook great and tasted amazing.

This was a wonderful experience! A gem of a restaurant. From the valet parking to the attentive waitress it was a perfect evening...and most of all kudos to the chef! Our food was delicious. Puts a lot of NYC restaurants to shame!! Can't wait for my next meal here.

Absolutely a wonderful experience on Wednesday for my husband's birthday. We had 10 people. From how we were greeted by Bob the bartender to our service from Chris was top notch. The scallops and chicken grinnell melted in my mouth. I cant believe I have never been here before. It will surely be a restaurant added to date night.

Met a girlfriend there on a Friday night and socially distanced and had dinner at the bar. We both ordered chicken French and it was delicious and reasonably priced. Nice wine selection by the glass. Chris the bartender was friendly and took good care of us. We will definitely be going back.

Went there last night for the first time with my wife for a "big" birthday. Front to back this was an outstanding dining experience. I don't even like martinis but the one I had last night was not only good but paired perfectly with the appetizer. Go figure. Service was professional yet friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, but not in your face. I had the lamb chops which were simply perfection. Both our desserts followed suit. Ambiance is elegant and quiet - something that most restaurants aren't anymore. Overall it was a great experience at a fair price, and we'll be back.

Outstanding classic Italian food at reasonable prices. Totally underrated - it took me too long to find this place! Too many Italian restaurants try so hard to integrate Americanized nouveau culinary school nonsense into Italian cuisine... This restaurant (like Agatina in Greece) doesn't try and reinvent the Italian wheel and I'm here for it! Just delicious traditional recipes

We came here for a private party after our family's funeral for lunch. This place is amazing! The food is phenomenal and the service is impeccable! I got the prime rib! The meat was cooked just right. The mashed potatoes was perfection. And the green beans was cooked just right!

Very quaint ambiance with courteous staff and delicious food. The prime rib melted in your mouth. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The wait staff and basket were wonderful to talk to. It made for a most enjoyable birthday dinner.

My husband and I do not go out to dinner often but it was our anniversary. A friend had suggested Grinnell’s because I wanted something nicer than a chain restaurant. Grinnell’s was fabulous. The service was excellent and so was the food. We also enjoyed the atmosphere, you could have a conversation and be heard, unlike at other restaurants. It truly was a lovely dinner and someplace we will definitely visit again.

This was my first time at Grinnell’s and it won’t be the last. The service was top notch. I was there to celebrate a birthday and our group was well taken care of. My dietary issue was handled without making me feel like a burden and my chicken French was delicious.

We went there for our first anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious. It was only outshined by the service. The staff were absolutely amazing and they ensured my wife and I had an amazing evening.
