Yes, this is a small office with one clerk. True, their hours are not as forgiving as the one on 9 in clifton park. But I have had very professional and successful interactions at this location for the last 7 years, including a passport photo for my newborn.
This is just my experience, so take it as one data point.

I have had only excellent service at this Post Office in Mechanicville, NY. Everyone is extremely pleasant and helpful. I also feel the Postal workers are stretched sometimes in meeting the needs of deliveries during certain times of the year. This is definitely not under their control. Please give them your support rather than criticisms. Thank you, to all Postal workers for trying hard to meet the challenges in present society.

The Mechanicville, New York post office is all aces. It is efficient and well run. The staff is professional and helpful. Instead of getting the runaround as in many US post offices, Mechanicville personnel are willing to assist with any postal problem the customer might have. I just can't say enough good things about them and that includes the route carriers also.

Dominique is great at the counter and the young mailman is very good.They don't answer the phone though there it's true.

Love the Mechanicville Post Office. They have always been good to me.

getting annoyed with the postal service around here everytime i put mail that needs to go out in the box i raise the red flag and sometimes it sits in there for a few days last time I had to take it to another mailbox before it went out i should not have to do that. i think this issue needs to be addressed asap.some of my mail is time sensitive and i should not have to wait 3 days for the postal service to decide they wanna pick up my mail

Went here to get a PO Box in September filled out everything I had to fill out and still haven’t received ANY mail whatsoever!! I also tried calling and like usual no answer. I don’t recommend going here because it’s obvious no one doesn’t know what they’re doing.

12/2023 Update: Important first class mail is missing and two do not bend envelopes (photos and diploma) bent and crammed in mailbox. Another update: We now routinely get mail pickup and delivery on only three to four days a week. Update: I now have three of the 5 pieces from Saturday, but am missing important first class mail today and found my mail halfway out of the box. I found my neighbor's mail in the ditch. I have always supported the post office, but now I wonder why.
In the past, my mail person has chosen not to deliver all my packages but left no note. We rarely get our mail until early evening. Some days we do not get mail at all. I will get emails stating packages could not be delivered, access blocked, which is not accurate. One day I watched the truck drive by without attempting to stop.
Sometimes I get other people's mail, which makes me wonder where mine is going.

If I could give them zero stars I would. They are constantly losing my mail and delivering wrong mail to my house. If I call about missing packages that are saying delivered the PostMaster Julie, gives such a bad attitude. As a taxpayer, I and am not asking for top notch customer service but just basic human decency and concern. It is absolutely lacking and they 100% know that as a government agency no one is going to do anything about the complaints so it just continues. Absolutely wrong. I just recently had another package go missing that was a special gift but because it was marked delivered even though there was NO mail delivered that day, there is nothing I can do. This Post Office has a long history of very poor customer service and it continues to this day. Nothing is ever done to correct this situation. Mail is constantly delivered late if at all and packages never make it to their destination. What is even worst is the PostMaster in Mechanicville never answers the phone. This Post Office should be closed and save taxpayers some money.

Don't try to send your Amazon or eBay purchases back here. They have only one extremely slow and incompetent person working behind the desk. Whatever they are using to scan return labels is non-functioning.

They used to be great, now they are horrible. They don't answer the phone. 2 weeks ago, the post person took 2 packages that had been delivered to me by Fedex. There was no pick up from USPS scheduled, she just took them.
Today she left a certified letter in my mail box.

Our regular carrier retired a few months ago I don't know who it is delivering our mail these days but I miss my old carrier. Recently had a delivery of a photo packaged in a card board envelope, clearly too big for the mailbox. The carrier folded it and cramed it into our mailbox along with the rest of the mail. The photo was creased in the process and I'm not happy. The following day a package was delivered open. We've had our mail delivered to neighbors,. We've had our neighbors mail delivered to us. Don't know what's going on down there, but some one needs to pay attention and do a better job.

I understand we had a snowstorm, but I have not received mail in two days and all walkways are shoveled on my street, Not sure how they get to pick and chose who gets mail. Ppl are posting some got mail today many others didn’t... A lot of us really depend on our mail. A lot of us had to work in the snow and drive in it, I do not understand how we can go two days possibly three of not receiving mail.
