Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza

A hidden gem in the Capital Region. They have an amazing collection and are always more than happy to order books that they don't have in stock. The cashier offered me a discount for a book because the cover had a small bend which was an extremely kind gesture. All in all, amazing store with an even more amazing staff. Support local businesses!

Always a great find here! I don't think I've ever walked out of the Book House empty handed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and enthusiastically goes above and beyond to help you find, or order, what you are looking for. Highly recommended for gifts, holiday, birthday, or any occasion or mood you can think of.

The nice man behind the counter (Chris?)took my book order (for a book due out in March); I could have ordered on Amazon, but this is a perfect opportunity to support a local business. The shop itself is nice and a great place to spend a few minutes doing a browse. Shop Local!!!

This store is local and small but mighty. If they don't have what you need, they'll order it for you and the orders tend to arrive quickly. They have a diversity of books (not just "bestsellers") in every genre. The staff is very friendly and there are couches for customers to sit down and read.

Love this place!! I always get gifts here... can't go wrong. Such a diverse collection of books, especially for children. My kids love coming here and we always take pictures with their buds outside of the Book House :)

This place is sooooo cute. One of my favorite book stores hands down, mostly just for the atmosphere. Otherwise, it’s a book store! 100% recommend.

Quiet and quirky, for the most part. The is the cutest area for kids to hide and maybe read (it might be too dark for that though) that I wished I was 7 again to go inside and read but alas, I am not. It has your standard selection of books at their full price, so nothing you might not also find in Barnes and Nobles, but I'd still encourage anyone to visit and maybe get a book. Why not?

Super cute, cozy, and welcoming book store. I was visiting from out of town and stopped in. Such and amazing selection of fiction and nonfiction, lots of fun puzzles, tote bags and gifts for book lovers. Found a few books on my list and had a lovely time browsing.

This store is very quite and pleasant. It’s like a library. Books from all different genres and interests. The prices are reasonable.

I always purchase my World Almanac, Farmers Almanac and all my reference books & manuals at the Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza. I highly recommend purchasing all ones books, almanacs and reference materials at the Book House. The staff are friendly & knowledgeable of all of their material. Go to the Book House for a positive experience!

Staff is always friendly and helpful. If they don't have a book they'll get it for you. Kid friendly area at the back if the store complete with a little playhouse.

Warm and cozy atmosphere makes you want to buy all the books, or at least sit down and read them. I was drawn to the staff recommendations. You could tell they were also lovers of the written word 😊.
