Very helpful on knowing what's going on in the city and picked up a support the police sign

I had a nice time visiting the Lucky Squirrel Flea Market this past Saturday! I spent about two hours browsing (and buying ;) ) before the rain and strong winds hit. I plan on returning again next month.

I just want to express by unbiased dissatisfaction with the way that the city and DDA is reviewing bids and solicitations. Especially with being a competitive Sealed bid. Having a mandatory pre bid meeting where “you” specifically go over every aspect, expectation of the whole contract and have each potential candidate express any questions, concerns etc. I have sat through 3 bid cycles- 2 of which have been run by yourself and one by the previous director.

The first time bid- we were awarded the winter snow plowing- at which time the DDA was happy with every aspect! And that was expressed to us.

When the next bid round came around we bid the project and we were the lowest responsive bid submitted - let it be know with expeller references- equipment- experience and licensing; and yet we were pat over even with experience with the Garden City DDA.

Then for 2018; yet again you throw out our bid. A bid that was $10,000 lower than the only other contractor (carters) submitted! How can the city keep wasting money for sub or services?! You are paying atleast a $30,000 more over a 3 year period. In my opinion I fee as the bids are being biased and feel that there is a conflict of interest with someone on the DDA board.... can’t justify this- especially when the owner of Franks Landscaping (Jennifer Mathis) is a Garden City resident and she has pride in the city!

I was shocked that you declined an offer from myself to attend the DDA meeting to go over our bid and surprised that you declined to have me come in for an interview!

Really would appreciate some feedback on why we were disqualified and why the city should incur an extra exceeded cost of over $30,000! I’m sure the city would like to retain funding for other enhancements of the DDA!
