Atomic Dawg

Fun retro atmosphere with just the right touch of kitch. I had the mini burgers, char grilled with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a toasted bun. Delicious! I also had the crisp, flavorful vinegar based coleslaw, and the "slips" which are thinly sliced potatoes lightly fried. They are slightly crisp like chips, but softer. Really good, not greasy. I would really recommend this cute, friendly diner for everyone! They are now serving beer, wine, and cocktails as well so it makes for a fun date night or meet up spot for friends. Cool place!

We drove to Berkley Michigan to try our Atomic Dawg during the pandemic. Inside serving was not available because of Covid-19, but we were met outside the front door by a friendly hostess. They have a limited menu now, but there was still a variety of choices available. They were currently only open for lunch, so I would suggest calling first.
We each chose the "Swanky Franky", a grilled atomic dawg wrapped with bourbon smoked bacon and topped with jalapeno lava cheddar. It was delicious. The cheese had just a little bit of kick from the jalapeno to give it flavor.
Other notes: They had a wide variety of canned soft drinks. Their regular menu shows beer and other alcohol, but I'm not sure what is available for carry-out. Also, there is parking available to the left of the building, as well as on the street.

My fiance and I are new to Berkley and decided to give Atomic Dawg a try for lunch! I ordered the Swanky Franky and he ordered The D - both were delicious. The ordering/carry out process was also quick and easy. We will definitely be back 😃

After hearing great things, I decided to try Atomic Dawg for lunch one day. The food turned out great and service was super fast. I was also very impressed with how responsible they are during this time of social distancing. It's not a very large place, so they make the customers feel safe by spacing out their orders and offering to deliver your food to your car. I'll definitely be returning.

They have weird hours but if you can make it go! Loved my meal here. The chips were incredible and the hot dogs lived to my expectations, some of the best chili I've had. Run by an incredibly nice staff as well. Loved atomic dawg.

Delicious food. I had the classic burger with cheese and my husband had the atomic blue burger. Both were delicious and generously portioned. What you’re getting for what you’re paying is the best burger deal in town. Can’t wait to go back and try their hot dogs and shakes! Very friendly staff and cool vibe. There’s a huge seating area upstairs from where you order, so you can plan to dine in!

Great dogs, great variety. The Hula Dog is outstanding, surprising hot kick balanced by the sweet and tangy grilled pineapple. Don't forget the homemade chips! They trounce french fries from anywhere else.

Best hot dogs ever... Period. I grew up in Chicago and have always loved the Chicago style dog. I've been to several hot dog joints around the Chicagoland area, none compare to Atomic Dawg. Having tried the Coney style at many places around Detroit (including Lafayette), I think Atomic Dawg does it best. The quality of their ingredients is what does it for me, and the service has always been great!

Very cool little joint. All types of gourmet hot dogs (imported kosher dogs - the same used at Pink's), fresh cut potato chips, and a variety of old-school sodas. The Kingston dog with a mango, pineapple, and jalapeno relish was my favorite. The staff is really nice, too.

Best burgers around, Its also a bonus they are reasonably priced. The staff are all quite personable and unique characters, that actually care about making your food scrum-diddily-umpchious. Seriously never had a bad thing out of here and its kept me coming back for years.

Really good hot dogs and very different options. Looking forward to going again.

Atomic Dawg is a cozy restaurant serving a variety of hot dogs with numerous toppings. They also have vegan dogs & vegetarian sliders. I had a decadent 6 cheese grilled cheese on challah bread with tomatoes; grilled onion was added upon request. I also ordered potato crisps (thinly sliced, deep fried potatoes) that were completely addictive!!! The dining area was reached by a short flight of stairs & was neat & clean. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely dine at Atomic Dawg again!

They have great hot dogs and homemade chips! The women who helped me were so incredibly helpful and provided great customer service. I will definitely be back with my family next time!

awesome family run diner specializing in 'craft' hot dogs and burgers. try their homemade chips and slaw...and now they are open for dinner and serving cocktails, beer and wine!! love the gouda burger and the Hawaiian dog!! ;)

I didn't even know this place existed until I volunteered for Detroit Dog Rescue at this location. They allowed us host an adoption event right in front of the building. The people working here were extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly. The owner of the place even gave the volunteers free food. What a great guy!
Being a vegetarian I didn't think that there would be any "dawgs" or food for me, but you can get ANY hotdog as a Veggie Dawg option! They also have an amazing grilled cheese and yummy sides like the delicious Chicago Slips. The deep fried apple pie is AMAZING and they make them right there- fresh from scratch.
Plus there was a really hot chick with a mohawk working the cash register when I was there ;]
I would definitely recommend this place to friends & family - or anyone for that matter. Go get yer dawg on!

I just picked up a order literally & I tried calling because I have to tell them this is the BEST hotdog ever. I never knew how good a Chicago hot dog could actually be let alone a hotdog with chili and onion yummy Yum

Cozy little joint that serves great dogs and burgers. The homemade chips are so delicious. Great place and the service was perfect.

Great dogs with unique typing combos. Nice local business. Great for lunch. Prices are very fair. Highly recommend.
