I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the extremely helpful Financial Aid support person named Destiny. She was so helpful, very kind, and empathetic of our issues that we were having. It was a pleasure speaking to her as she guided my son through the next steps he needs to take and also answering an issue that we had the previous semester. Her customer service skills are top notch. Please let her know that we are very appreciative of everything she did for my son and I.

I have a Freshman and Sophomore at MSU for 2023-2024. This will be my second year dealing with Financial Aid and I could not be more pleased. Our experience has been seamless and the attention has been five star. From speaking on the phone to emails and in-person visits the experience has been extremely positive.

Finances can be stressful and tricky especially if you have multiple students in college.

A special shout out to ARMANI in Financial Aid. I appreciate you and want to thank you for all your help and attention.

GO GREEN!!

I've read the comments of lack of services from the financial aid office and cringe. I'm returning after 30 years of being away and did not want unnecessary stress. I called early in the morning, spoke with Ms Ally had great customer service assisting me on my computer to access my aid in the portal. Called back within the hour and spoke with Ms Shannon who was kind to me as well. Thanks ladies for your exemplary help, you both took the sting away of being nervous of my return. Blessings!

If you have a problem, your best bet is to walk into the office. The finaid advisors are incredibly helpful. They are extremely professional and want to help students. They even compete to see who can help the most students!

Calling in may have some trouble as it is students who answer the phone and they have limited knowledge. Anything abnormal is best handled by an advisor in person or by phone if you can find their contact info on MSU.edu.

Calls and emails are a little iffy, but visiting in person will get you signed up with someone who knows how to best help you. Can't complain about the service, fast and concise.

These people are lazy. If you think calling right when they open will get you ahead of their “high call volume” it won’t. They won’t take your calls ever and if they do set aside at least 1-2 hours because you’re going to sit on hold. Doesn’t matter the time, or day, if there are 0 calls ahead or 12, you’ll wait no matter what. You’re better off avoiding this place because the people that work here are untrained and probably don’t care to get trained.

Takes a minimum of 35 minutes for anyone to answer phone and 3 weeks for an email. They rarely can answer your question and "transfer" you for the phone to just be hung up. Every time I work with them it takes >4 phone calls, an override, and I receive my aid late. They have little accountability since they don't have to compete with any other service.

This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. This office needs to stop hiring students that don't care or know anything about financial aid. The girl that answered the phone was extremely dismissive and unwilling to listen to my concerns about my account. Extremely unprofessional.

As god is my witness, I have never seen such an inefficient office in my entire life. I waited FIVE HOURS just to get in contact with a representative. You have to keep on calling and then you have to hear the automated message say "We are unable to take you call because all our representatives are servicing other callers" over like 700 times. It got to the point where I started to automatically memorize the automated message due to the unfathomable long waiting period. It actually feels like you won the lottery if they pick up the call and answer you. Please, I implore you to do something about this long waiting time or at least update the phone system to tell you how many callers are ahead of you or puts you on hold.

I always dread having to call the financial aid office because of how rude and unprofessional the representatives are literally every time I call. They constantly have an attitude whenever they're assisting and interrupt me when I speak and never fully listen to what I ask and get rude when I ask them to let me finnish speaking or tell them that I need to finish what I am saying for them to know the full extend of what I am asking for to actually help me. They want to give out answers before you even finish talking and it is exhausting because it does not actually help. They have given me incorrect information on my account countless times and have been unable to tell me why certain things have been billed with no trace of where it came from and claimed me to be responsible for money that they accidentally gave me to my bank account and expect me to be responsible on a few occasions for their system errors. MSU claims to have great resources but a have terrible way of up keeping it with the people they choose to have represent their departments.

WORST HELP EVER. They have not released the money that I took out through a FAFSA loan. I was supposed to get the money exactly two months ago and have called dozens of times calling about the issue. They just say "there's nothing we can do, sorry, you just have to wait...etc" They have been working on this glitch non stop they quote. How has a glitch not been resolved after 2 months? That's a lot of hours working on a glitch! Still not fixed.
