Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast

We were very pleased with our stay (3 nights) at Sherwood Forest—in fact, we could not be more pleased. Our room (Log Cabin Suite) was roomy, comfortable, and clean; bathroom was huge; bed was comfortable; towels were really nice! The breakfasts were truly outstanding—the best we've ever had at a BandB, cooked by a gourmet chef!! Very comfortable and pleasant to have breakfasts out on the front porch each morning. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and attentive—but not overly intrusive or talkative, which we appreciated. Really well located: we could walk to Douglas Beach; easy drive into Saugatuck; a short drive to Saugatuck Dunes Beach, one of the nicest beaches anywhere. We had a very pleasant, relaxing, comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

Stayed in the Safari suite and couldn't be happier with Sherwood forest. Location is great, only 5 minute walk to the beach. Pool was very nice, warm and clean. 10 minute drive to downtown Saugatuck. Jim and Noelene were fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing! We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone as well.

We have enjoyed this gem of a B&B as our first choice for a getaway from daily life. Our hosts, Jim and Nolene, are like old friends and Nolene's breakfast feast is Michelin Star worthy!!
We recently stayed in the newly decorated Morracon Suite and enjoyed the spacious but cozy room! The swiming pool, surrounded by forest, is a treat and immaculately clean!!

We had an amazing stay. This was our first time in the area and we loved it. Sherwood was clean and very tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Moroccan suite and loved it. Our breakfast each morning was wonderful. The hosts were very nice and thoughtful. One half block easy walk and you are looking out on Lake Michigan. We would absolutely come back.

My husband and I stayed here for our 13th wedding anniversary for 2 nights in the Moroccan suite. It was our first time in the area and staying at a bed and breakfast, && it was the absolute best experience. The host are amazing and very kind, breakfast was delicious and 5 ⭐ Our room was beautiful and the HUGE jacuzzi tub was a perfect addition for a relaxing getaway. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience, definitely one of the best anniversary getaways we've ever had.

This place is beautiful, peaceful, elegant, and the owners (Chris & Nolene) are so hospitable and so wonderful to talk to!

Lovely place! The breakfast was delicious and the servings were generous. We stayed in the log cabin room, and it was so comfy and cozy! The jacuzzi bath was huge (comfortably fit my partner and I who are both tall). Proprietors were friendly, accommodating, and gave great recommendations for activities and places to check out during our stay. Sherwood Forest is so close to the lake, which made for a beautiful sunset walk. Great place for a relaxing, chill getaway.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the Log Cabin Suite for a weekend getaway in mid-February. It was a weekend full of relaxation and comfort. We were within walking distance from the public overlook of the lake and we were able to catch some gorgeous sunsets. In the summer it would be about a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Douglas along a paved sidewalk. In addition to the location, the hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. We would definitely visit again!

We had a comfortable room for a quick autumn getaway from Ohio. Lovely town and lots of outdoor activities.
Accommodations were excellent with comfortable bed and gas fireplace. Morning breakfast was luxurious especially since my wife and I are vegan and accustomed to uninspired fare. Our multicourse breakfast was beautiful and savory. We would definitely return.

Such a great place. The owners were so professional and kind. We had a very beautiful and comfortable room and the food was so good. It was a great way to start our day. The location was excellent by being away from the hussel and bussel of downtown Saugatuck and close to Lake Michigan. We would definitely stay there again. See you next year.

Stayed in the Log Cabin suite with my mother at the tail-end of a weeklong Saugatuck trip, and had a wonderful stay. The neighborhood has the most amazing trees, with a very short walk to end of the road to look out at Lake Michigan. The room was spacious and cute; it was a hot summer day, but we admired the cozy potential of the gas fireplace. The hosts were lovely, and the breakfast (two courses) the next day was fantastic. We ate on the wrap-around porch and were so pleased to have such a lovely ending to our trip. I would definitely come back here again!

We loved our time here - beach was a short walk away and downtown Saugatuck was a 5 minute drive. The breakfast and service throughout our stay was excellent and made us feel very welcomed.

This was our second stay at the Sherwood Forest B&B. We came back because we love the location, the amazing breakfasts, the beautiful rooms (and beds), but mostly because of how lovely the owners treat their customers. It’s only a few houses from Lake Michigan and a nice little beach. We like the convenience to Saugatuck without the parking congestion. We stayed in the Safari suite this time and it was amazing. Fashioned after an authentic African safari hotel suite with private deck for having breakfast. We enjoy the pool and huge front porch for relaxing.

This was our second stay at Sherwood Forest B&B. We love the location - so close to Douglas Beach. The accommodations are cozy, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast is delicious. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. We loved being able to enjoy the pool and patio area!

The B&B was wonderful! Nolene and Jim were fantastic; friendly, warm and knowledgeable. We stayed in the Safari Suite and would definitely do it again. The attached private deck was peaceful and perfect. The breakfasts were delicious! Being walking distance to Douglas Beach was great, too. We walked to see sunsets every day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely Bed and Breakfast during our stay in Douglas. We stayed in the adorable TreeTops Room and found it to be immaculately clean and comfortable. Our host and hostess were very kind, and the breakfasts were amazing! We enjoyed sitting on the lovely front porch each morning and evening listening to the birds and enjoying the beautiful flowers. Every night we walked down the street to the public beach and watched the spectacular sunsets.

My husband and I stayed in the TreeTops room for a birthday celebration and absolutely loved how cozy it was. The host was very accommodating and we enjoyed a large breakfast each morning. The location can't be beat! Thanks again for a great stay!

We had an amazing stay here. The location is great, on a quiet street and within walking distance to the beach. Breakfast each morning was wonderful, possibly the best breakfasts I have ever had. Jim, Noelene, and David are amazing hosts. We felt almost like we were at home while staying here.

My husband and I just stayed in the Log Cabin Suite to celebrate our anniversary and it was amazing! The room was spacious and very comfortable. The house is beautiful, and it’s located in a very quiet and beautiful area but also only a short drive to Saugatuck. We enjoyed the heated outdoor pool and the short walk to the beach. The hosts are phenomenal and very accommodating. The breakfast is delicious and can be enjoyed in the dining room area or outside on the big porch. We highly recommend staying here if you are in the Saugatuck area!

A great place to bring yourself! Accommodations were really superb! The breakfast (which is included) was a 5 star culinary delight! We would book this place again!
