Alek does an amazing job with coloring hair, especially if you want to do a fun vibrant color. I find he is very talented with pastel hair coloring as well, and does amazing balayage and extensions. Went to him 9 years ago randomly by chance and haven't gone anywhere else since.

I never leave his salon disappointed. He’s been my stylist for almost 3 years (or more). He does an amazing job EVERYTIME and very honest. My boys get their haircut too and refuse to go elsewhere. Highly recommend 🤩

Excellent communication - loved that he explained the products before putting them in my hair and didn't try and sell me all of the products; took the time to explain/show me how to recreate the style. I have already rebooked my next appointment.

Alex is a complete professional. His salon is always presentable and extremely clean. He's constantly training and you can tell he's very passionate about his work. I wouldn't recommend anyone else for your hairstyling needs.

I went to here looking for help with my hair that wasn’t what I wanted from another place and he helped my hair out so much! He took very good care of me! Let me know what he could do for my hair and what he wouldn’t be able to do. The hair you want sometimes takes time! I will not be changed Stylist he’s done great color extensions cut treatments on my hair and I wouldn’t pick anyone else to do my hair again! I refer all my friends and my family here now! Definitely make your appointments! He’s great!!!

J. Alek hair studio is wonderful, I'm always extremely pleased with their services & professionalism. The atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable. The staff is super friendly, specially Alex he has a lot of years of experience, he's been doing my hair for a long time. I also really like the area where it's located, plenty of parking!

Amazing! Alex takes the time to kindly walk you through the options and recommendations. He is very professional and his expertise shows throughout the entire process, which I enjoyed! I am happy and satisfied with the result! I wanted to try something different going with a platinum color and he made magic!

By far the best coloring work I have had on my hair! We are talking about 20+ years of highlighting and coloring. I have always been a blonde, but with older age, the color was getting darker, duller and thinner. Which was 'ok' and then the gray streaks have lately been creeping in. I was embracing the gray, however it was externally aging me. Alex brought my hair back to the hair of my youth! Also he recommended a volumizer product that there was no pressure to buy, however, I was so impressed with the volume I had lacked for years and the wonderful smell, I bought it. I use this product daily! I love what it does for the softness of my hair, the shine and volume! I have found I substitute this product for dry shampoo. I have had so many compliments not only people I know but strangers since getting this done! Not only a great experience, I feel my experience was up there with what the top 1% get in regards to hair! If you read J. Alex profile you will see he is up there with those stylist that deal with the wealthy, how ge has worked with the best of the best around the world (Europe) and Chicago, that he has started his own adventure of entrepreneurism. Such a treat to have in Crystal Lake, IL. Highly recommend to give a try!

This was my first time at the salon and I was more than satisfied with the service I received. I’m pretty picky and feel like when I usually ask for something when getting my hair done, I leave disappointed or with something other than what I was hoping for. This was not the case today. Alex is so talented and I left loving my hair. His salon is cute and his prices are affordable. I will definitely be back!

Alex did a fabulous job! I have naturally curly hair, and I've always had a hard time finding a place that can cut it and color it well. He did a dry cut, and did an amazing job! I've tried purple in my hair a few times now, with no success. Alex did a highlight to lighten, a root color of dark violet, and an all over color of a lighter purple, and it looks amazing! Already booked my follow up in 6 weeks!

Alex is by far the BEST person to cut hair in the Crystal Lake area! His knowledge of not only cutting hair and being the best hairstylist is superb, but his hair care knowledge is bar none! He'll give you the best tips and tricks to make sure you're doing everything needed to have shinny luscious locks! 10/10 would recommend! ...oh, and he's super friendly! Definitely don't hesitate to reach out and book an appointment with him.

Alex did an excellent job on my color and haircut. He had great ideas, which I very much appreciated. My daughter also loved her cut and eyebrow waxing, also by Alex. We enjoyed the fun, relaxed, friendly atmosphere at the salon and will definitely book future appointments there. I also have to give a shout out to Julio for an awesome shampoo job and his hilarious sense of humor.

Amazing attention to detail, flawless execution! Came in looking tired and dated, left looking like a supermodel. Pre-service consultation well worth it. I went to other salons in the area for color correction and grey blending, none were able to do it. This salon took great care with my color challenged and damaged hair. Superb color and cut. Went from long gray thin, very icky, hair to a GORGEOUS pixie with auburn color. Technically extraordinary cut and beautiful color. Highly recommend.
