After years of having terrible experiences with getting my hair colored and cut (aside from 1 person in the past) I have finally found someone in the suburbs that knows how to take care of curly hair. It’s mind boggling at the limited care and education people have with curls. Many claim they know but as soon as they take the wrong brush to the hair and start brushing from the top I know that the appointment will only go down hill. Luckily, Nieka is a godsend . Not only did she do an amazing job with my color and cut, but she helped give me tips for maintaining and upholding my curls. She was an absolute delight! Lastly, her prices were so reasonable especially for all the work that she does! I dread getting my hair done after years upon years of bad cuts but I no longer need to stress. I ended my appointment by booking my next one with anticipation instead of dread. Thank you, Nieka!!!

I've been coming to this place for years. When I first started going, I could walk in with no appt, but she stays busy now, and appointments need to be made well in advance. She is well with the wait, though. The best in the area!

I tried out Nieka yesterday. I brought my two daughters for haircuts based on several Facebook recommendations that mentioned her great work and low prices ($10 for kids!). I'm so glad that I did! She is very sweet and was great with my 8 and 3 year olds. She offered recommendations on styles best suited for their different hair types and style requests. Bonus: her salon has a great view of Bangs Lake so waiting is very relaxing.

Nieka is such a great stylist with such a beautiful spirit. She's been doing my hair for a few years and just recently started braiding my 3yr olds hair. She's always attentive, professional and very reasonable.

Nieka really loves doing hair and she is extremely good at it too. She is always fun and friendly and really takes her time to ensure you are happy with her work.

I see Nieka every 6-9 months for my semi annual haircut. I’m not the kind lady that gets her hair cut once a month, I’m more along the lines of a barbarian caterpillar who changes into a butterfly twice a year. Point being Nieka knows me so during the first of the year haircut I asked for an ombré thing and she told me the upkeep that requires and how my schedule might not be the best for that look. Her honesty led me to put red highlights in my hair and I have NEVER felt sexier. Nieka can size you up and tell you what will work and what won’t. From your standard & routine “just a lil off the bottom” to the “cut it all off” she is a MIRACLE WORKER.

I lost my job two years ago and fell into a really deep depression. I mean didn’t get out of bed for a solid week, showered when I remembered, ate my weight in chips & dip, DEPRESSION. My eyebrows were out of control my hair was split ends all the way to the root, I looked rough. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and let her go nuts with that, what I didn’t realize as we were talking was that she had me facing away from the mirror, intentionally. She does this thing where she’ll spin you around for the cut, but the style you face away and every haircut is like a queer eye, extreme makeover reveal. I cried when she showed me the finished results, it had been so long since I had felt pretty and in less than an hour she had pulled all the confidence I had lying dormant to the forefront.
